Chapter Eight
Chapter eight
I read about warlocks. I know they are rare in the supernatural communities, they had a lot of power -which was hard to handle and so many died in the process of reaching their full potential, only the strongest survived, and so warlocks are in fact relatively rare.
This information soon became irrelevant when I remembered why I was risking my life and standing closer to the hybrid than I am comfortable with. The rage and hate consuming me again and soon I couldn't control myself, the next thing I know the hybrid was howling in pain, I heard the sound of bones breaking and soon the hybrid was in the air. When I realized I was the cause of the action, I snapped out of my emotional state of mind. The hybrid fell to the ground, and I walked towards it with cautiously, This could be a setup, and It could attack me as soon as I get close enough.I approach the limp hybrid; it's dead. I was the reason; I killed it. I didn't know how to feel. I was snapped out of my self-loathing thoughts when I remembered why I was feeling such emotional pain even though the first hurdle was done, Derek.
I ran to his side, and when I saw his eyes shut and his motionless body lying there, I froze. He didn't look like he was breathing.I felt his pulse, and I couldn't hold the tears back.He was alive; his pulse was still there. I quickly took out my bag and pulled out the special type of wolfsbane I had that helps heal wounds of werewolves; I applied the paste I made out of it and a few other ingredients - on the nasty looking gash. Soon enough the magical properties kicked in, and the wound was healed. Derek started regaining consciousness,
"Stiles" his voice sounding coarse. "I'm here, Derek. The creature, it's dead. Don't ask questions we need to get going and look for the two friends that are out there waiting for us."Yeah, you're right." he said with his voice still faint and barely audible. He may have healed, but he will still feel weak.Thankfully I have a solution for that too.I had made a tonic before we left it helps regain strength and stamina, I tossed it to him ."Drink that; it will help you ." He shot me a bemused look, but I know Derek trusts me enough to do things without needing an explanation.
Ten minutes after Derek had the tonic he was back to normal, and I was pleased with the results."What was in that tonic?" Derek asked, eyes shut and nose in the air following the scent of the pack."It's some special ingredients that help gain strength and stamina, I learned how to make things like that, and I gathered weapons capable of killing almost any supernatural creatures possible, yet I guess there are more being formed, so they were rendered useless. Derek stopped dead in his tracks. He turned and looked at me with an expression I can't describe as it was a mixture of a lot. "How did you kill it then?" I knew the question was coming and I have been trying to find an explanation, not only for him but also for myself. " To be honest, I don't know.It just happened, I can't explain to you what happened" I said truthfully. Derek knew I was telling the truth and not to push further than that. I was never more grateful for his personality.
We continued walking till we came to the warehouse, it was well hidden; we wouldn't have found it because it was, well hidden with vines and bushes, planted very smartly. When we entered, we both looked at each other and smiled for the first time in a while. We found two of our friends. Isaac and Erica were both on the floor, hands, and legs tied with ropes which were probably some particular type. I went to untie them since I was the only non-supernatural being in the room. When I untied it, they both flashed their beta eyes, probably because they weren't in the best states of mind when their eyes focused on me they realized they had been rescued and both jumped and started clinging to me like their life depended on it.I guess since they don't know the hybrid is dead they think their life does depend on it. They've been through a lot I guess it's a normal reaction.I hold them both until they are in a calmer state and then I hand them the remainder of the tonic and apply some of the salve on their wounds they were tortured. On the bright side, we are two friends closer to the end of this sick game.
