Taking the Case
I sat there looking over the case, analyzing every detail, every component that other people may be missing. The Kira Case is what people had started calling it. "Kira coming from the English word killer," I said with my voice hinting at some amusement, "a fitting name indeed."
Unlike any other case before it, confusion riddled throughout the mysterious puzzles. This case even made the Los Angeles Wara Ningyo Murder case, or as people called it now the BB Murder case, a walk in the park. 'That case has just dropped down from its seemingly unbeatable place on the list of the hardest cases I ever had to solve.'
"What other explanations can we use for so many people having heart attacks at the same time." I asked thinking out loud to myself catching Watari's attention in the process. "Multiple killers, no that would be impossible. Then again so is this." I said with a groan or irritation. I finally finished crossing the last pragmatic thing off of my mental list of possible explanations. I began focusing more on location. I mean why look for something that you can not find when you can look for the easy answers.
I had managed to trace back the very first seemingly random heart attack. It is pretty easy when you look at all of the data. He was the first criminal who died of a heart attack. He died in the middle of a crime. He seemed to be no more than a guinea pig, a mere test subject. More specifically it was a guy in the Kanto region of Japan. I'm sure that is the only place Kira could possibly be. That news story was only ever broadcasted inside of Japan.
After I got that evidence I had felt confident enough to send Watari to the meeting and let the police in on some of my ideas. I do not trust them enough to tell them all of the details nor do I think I ever will. The idea of trusting those people, people who could just as well be Kira sent chills up my spine.
It took a little while but once I was hooked up into the meeting I began to announce that there would be a 'world wide' broadcast. In truth I did not plan to tell them that I was only planning on broadcasting it in Japan first, and if necessary then start in different parts of the world.
After the meeting ended Watari and I had started packing our bags, the few that we had. "I wonder what they will do when they find out." I asked loud enough for Watari to hear me from the other room.
"It seem we will be seeing soon enough." He answered walking in to help prepare for our flight to Japan. I always found it easier to work the case while I am in the same country that it is occurring in, now that I managed to narrow that down it was possible for me to go there. 'It sure has been a while since I was last in Japan.'
