Chapter 6

*Don't start the video yet*

One week later....

Mal and Ben had set up a date. Well, not a date... Not really. A time for them to sit down and talk about whatever was on their mind. And they didn't really set it up... Evie did.

But, guess what happened. Mal's still waiting in her dorm for Ben to come pick her up. "Where is he?" She asked herself looking at the time. 7:36.... He was supposed to pick her up two hours ago.

"And this is why I should have just stayed away. Who am I kidding? He's gonna flake out just like he always did," Mal shook her head.

She went to the mirror and looked at herself. "Put on my makeup, spray my perfume, sit in my dorm room, waiting on you. Said we would catch up, cause it had been a while," Mal sang and then smoothed down her dress.

"I hate to admit it, but my hands are shaking, barely breathing, heart is races. Looks like feelings, don't always change their minds," Mal sang and went to her door looking out.

"But you never called, never showed up, guess some things. And just like living in a flashback, you let me down again," She closed the door.

"And that's why the past should be the past. Far behind, back of mind, out of the way. Let the memories burn and crash, cause sitting here looking at the hallway."

"Is just tearing my heart, back in half, like nothing's changed except the time that's passed. And that's why goodbye should mean goodbye, the first time," Mal sang and slid down the door to the floor, as a tear escaped her eye and ran down her cheek.

She wiped her cheek and sighed. "I should know better, I hate that I still cry. Looking like a fool here watching for my guy. And kicking myself for believing in you again."

"I bet your out eating, with a new blonde, and telling her whatever's playing is her song. And helping her up into your carriage instead," Mal sang and stood up. "Even when you don't have you, you can still be the one to hurt me. It must feel good to know, that I'm still holding on to letting go."

"And that's why the past should be the past. Far behind, back of mind, out of the way. Let the memories burn and crash, cause sitting here looking at the hallway."

"Is just tearing my heart, back in half, like nothing's changed except the time that's passed. And that's why goodbye should mean goodbye, the first time," Mal sang as she walked over to the window looking out at the couples strolling around Auradon Garden. She saw Evie and Doug sitting on a picnic blanket having a date, Carlos and Jane were walking Dude, and Jay and Lonnie were practicing sports. She then picked up a picture of her and Ben.

"And that's why the past should be the past. Far behind, back of mind, out of the way. Let the memories burn and crash, cause sitting here looking at the hallway," Mal sang and three the picture away.

"Is just tearing my heart back in half, like nothing's changed except the time that's passed, and that's why goodbye should mean goodbye."

"So now I'm letting you go, just like I should've tried, the first time," Mal sang and went to the door to look out again. Oh, the first time."

"And that's why the past should be the past, the first time," She sighed and went back inside.

Meanwhile, with Ben....

Ben sighed and looked at his watch again. He was supposed to go on a date with Mal two hours ago, but he got stuck at an emergency counsel meeting.

"Ben, Ben!" Belle snapped her fingers in front of her son's face.

"What?" Ben's head shot up.

"Did you hear what we said?" Aurora asked.

"What did you say?" Ben asked slightly embarrassed he hadn't heard.

"You have a month to pick a wife," Prince Charming said and Ben's mouth flew open.

"Counsel dismissed," Snow White said and Ben sighed leaning back in his chair.
