Chapter Ten: Framed

Henrik's Pov

Never in my entire life did I expect myself to feel so fucking good after my confrontation with the Mikaelson family.

I just had so much emotions inside of me that I just needed to let all of them out.

And when I did I felt so damn good, so alive and so free.

I've literally never felt like this.

Not even after the girls and I escaped the dollhouse.

But while things were looking a little better for me the girls were another story.

Everything went downhill when they went to the arcade.

Apparently, Toby had accidentally eaten some of Spencer's candy that Sabrina had made her and they were filled with pot.

Spencer has been asking Sabrina to make her some snacks filled with pot because it's been helping her sleep.

I don't understand why she needed snacks with pot when I had given her my pills.

But, either way, I'm not one to judge.

I don't care what Spencer has been eating or doing to get better sleep. That's her business.

But, she could've been a little careful about where she places her snacks.

They failed to catch Charles since he ran off when the police came.

And It's fair to say that the girls were in deep shit after what happened.

I don't know what really happened between Aria and our parents but, from what Mike told me, it wasn't good.

I'm lucky to have gotten out of it.

But I still feel bad for the girls.

The girls were now at mine and Aria's house so we could watch the news.

Apparently, after yesterday's disaster, the only thing people have been talking about is Charles Dilaurentis.

Spencer, Emily, Hanna and I were sitting in the living room.

Aria and Alison were preparing coffee for us.

"Authorities have named Charles Dilaurentis as a lead suspect in the kidnapping of five Rosewood teens as well as a sixth victim from Courtland. Both state and local police remain tight-lipped..."

"Hey, did, uh, did Ali turn in those home movies to the cops? The ones that Charles left at her house?" Spencer asked.

"Yeah, I think so. Why?" Emily asked.

"Maybe they could do one of those age-progression sketches. We could finally put a face to the name" Spencer said.

"And maybe someone could put a fist to that face" Hanna scoffed.

"Agreed" I nodded.

We heard footsteps and saw Aria and Alison walking in while holding cups.

"Well, we are officially out of beans. What did we miss?" Aria asked.

We each got our cups and Aria and Alison sat down.

"Toby says that the highway patrol is setting up checkpoints at all the state borders" Spencer told them.

"Did he say anything else after he accidentally ate half your stash?" I asked.

"He's texting me. That's a win" Spencer shrugged.

"Hey, guys, shh" Emily said.

She grabbed the remote to turn the volume up so we could hear better.

"Though police have yet to comment officially. Inside sources speculate that the former Radley patient could be responsible for the unsolved murder of his mother, Jessica Dilaurentis. One of the first responding officers on the scene suffered minor injuries in pursuit of the suspect..."

We all glanced at each other before turning to Alison.

"Did you know about this?" Aria asked.

"No" Alison shook her head.

"You should probably ask your dad" Spencer suggested.

"Yeah, like he'd give a straight answer" I scoffed.

Hanna nodded in agreement while Alison spared us a glance before looking back at the T.V.

"Ok, well, if it is true, it's awful. Ali's mom is practically the only person who visited him, who even knew that Charles existed" Emily said.

"And he used her to fertilize Spencer's petunias" Hanna shot back.

"My mom grows azaleas" Spencer muttered.

"Whatever. Charles is vicious. We know all that. And now everyone else knows it too" I said.

It was silent for a few seconds before Alison spoke up.

"We had a birthday cake. That day at the arcade when Jason and I met him. Charles gave me his frosting. How does that turn into vicious?" Alison asked, confused.

Hanna and I glanced at each other and rolled our eyes.

Well when a child is sent to Radley they become pretty vicious.

And knowing A, or Charles, he's fucking vicious.

"We're probably done watching this, right?" Aria asked.

She quickly grabbed the remote and turned the T.V off.

When she set the remote down we all turned to Alison so we could get more answers.

"Do you remember anything else?" Aria asked.

"He cried when it was time to leave. Said it was the best birthday he ever had. The person they're describing on the news, I mean, I don't even know who that is" Alison said.

"You played skeeball, once. I wouldn't call that family bonding" Hanna scoffed.

"Hanna" Emily sighed, shooting her a look.

"I think what Hanna's trying to say is that it's hard for us to imagine that A is actually your brother" Spencer said.

"No, what's hard to imagine is that you feel even the slightest bit of pity for Charles" Hanna scowled.

"Little harsh, Hanna" Aria scolded.

"He's been out for blood, for all of us! And he's come way too close more than once. Why the hell do you people feel sorry for him?" I asked in disbelief.

"We hear you, both of you, but it's unfair to Ali right now-" Spencer started but Hanna cut her off.

"Why are you trying to shut us up, Spencer? We're just saying what you guys are thinking" Hanna asked.

I nodded and set my cup down.

"If you guys are too scared to be honest then fine. Hanna and I will do it for you" I said.

Hanna nodded before turning towards Alison.

"I'm sorry, Alison. I know this must really suck for you. But I'm not gonna sit here and help you give A the benefit of the doubt" Hanna spat.

Alison, for once in her life, looked taken aback by Hanna's behavior.

I nodded before speaking, "I hope the police catch him because there's nothing they could do to him that's worse than what he did to us. As far as I'm concerned that son of a bitch can rot in hell".

Hanna nodded before she grabbed her bag and got up from the couch.

I grabbed my phone and stuffed it into my pocket before I got up and followed Hanna.

I opened the door and let Hanna go out first.

Hanna smiled at me and I smiled at her before shutting the door and we both walked away.

Back At Home

After staying away from the house for a few hours I went back home because Lieutenant Tanner came over.

Aria was still doing the gallery thing today.

She's currently showing Lieutenant Tanner the pictures she chose.

I was standing next to my sister while Mom stood a few feet away from us.

"I had a hard time choosing but, these are the ones that I picked for the gallery tonight" Aria said.

Lieutenant Tanner hummed as she examined each and every picture that Aria set out on the table.

"You have an eye for detail, Aria. Every one of these pictures are so declarative, succinct" Lieutenant Tanner said.

Aria nodded while I smiled proudly at my sister.

"Aria tells me you have concerns about her attendance tonight. That she's up for an award" Lieutenant Tanner said.

Mom sighed and nodded as she walked towards us.

"Uh, yeah. Well, with everything going on lately, I just thought..." Mom trailed off.

"I would be more than happy to have officers stationed on-site. We can even put them in unmarked cars if you don't want undue attention" Lieutenant Tanner told her.

"Thank you, but, Aria, you know we've already committed to Mike's-" Mom started but I cut her off.

"We already talked to Mike and dad. They're ok with it if you are" I said.

Aria nodded but mom still looked hesitant.

"Can you be ok with it?" Aria asked, basically begging.

Mom still looked hesitant.

I mean I don't really blame her.

"I'm sorry that I sprung all this on you but this isn't a display case at my school. This is my work in a real art gallery. Mom, you worked at a gallery. You know how important this is" Aria said.

She turned towards me and placed her hand on my shoulder.

"And you know how much Henrik wants to own a gallery of his own. This could be his chance to show some of his art work to some gallerists that'll be there" Aria added.

This gallery is important to Aria it's about showing off her work.

But she also wants this night to be about me too.

She demanded that I bring some of my art work to show them off to the gallerists that'll be there.

We're twins and we always support each other in everything.

"I know, honey" Mom nodded.

She sighed before turning to Lieutenant Tanner.

"Are you sure?" Mom asked.

"I wouldn't agree to it if I felt there was risk involved. We're moving toward a resolution, Mrs. Montgomery. Things won't always be like this" Lieutenant Tanner said.

Mom sighed and turned to Aria and I, "I'm just trying to look out for you. Both of you".

"We know" I smiled, wrapping an arm around Aria's shoulders.

Aria smiled and leaned into my side.

"Take some time to think about it. If you decide to go, I will make sure that we have enough manpower there to keep you all safe" Lieutenant Tanner said.

Mom just nodded her head causing Aria and I to smile.

In Aria's Room

Aria called Emily over since she needed the two of us to help her pick an outfit for tonight.

She held up two dresses in her hands and waited for us to tell her which we like better.

"I like the one on the left" Emily told her.

"I like the green one" I told her.

Aria looked at the dress Emily chose and frowned.

"Yeah, but it doesn't scream downtown art scene. The green one, on the other hand, does" Aria said.

"What can I say? I have taste" I smirked, crossing my arms over my chest.

Emily rolled her eyes fondly while Aria laughed in amusement.

"Hey, there's a jacket in the closet to the right in the back" Aria said as she set the dresses down.

"The one with the skulls?" Emily and I asked.

"Am I that predictable?" Aria asked in amusement.

Emily and I nodded before Emily got up and walked towards my sisters closet.

"Did you text Spencer and Hanna?" Aria asked.

"Yeah, they said they'll meet us at the gallery" Emily told her.

"What about Ali?" I asked.

"I haven't heard back" Emily sighed.

"Well, I don't blame her" Aria said as she crossed her arms over her chest.

Emily continued looking through her closet before her eyes landed on a white bag.

"What's this?" Emily asked in curiosity.

Aria's eyes widened and walked towards Emily and gently pushed the white bag back inside her closet.

"Oh, that is not for tonight. That's for prom. I found it in a vintage store a couple of months ago" Aria smiled.

Emily nodded while I smiled.

"You know that feeling when the perfect dress or, in Henrik's case, suit just speaks to you?" Aria asked.

"Yeah. Caleb and I went to three different stores before finding the perfect suits" I smiled.

"Yeah, I think your wardrobe speaks a lot louder than mine" Emily smiled.

She grabbed the white bag and took it out.

"Can I take a peek?" Emily asked, wanting to see what the dress look likes.

"No. No looky-loos" Aria shook her head.

She gestured for Emily to put the dress back inside and Emily complied.

"I added my own spin to match the fairy tale theme. Just want it to be a surprise" Aria smiled.

"I get it. It took two fittings to get my dress right. Just hope we all get to wear them" Emily sighed.

I raised my eyebrow at her, confused.

"My mom says that Hackett's just appeasing a vocal minority, but..." Emily trailed off.

Aria and I glanced at each other before turning back to Emily and wondered what she was talking about.

Emily noticed the looks on our faces and furrowed her eyebrows together.

"Your mom got the e-mail, right?" Emily asked.

"The memo about side boob and backless gowns?" I asked.

"They send that out every year" Aria shrugged.

"No. This was just sent to our parents" Emily sighed.

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

"I guess the school board is debating whether it's safe for us to go to prom" Emily sarcastically smiled.

Mine and Aria's eyes widened in realization and anger.

"How can they tell us we can't go to our own prom?" I asked in disbelief.

Are you kidding me right now?

Are we seriously getting banned from going to prom?

"People have expressed safety concerns, according to Hackett" Emily said.

"Because of what happened at the arcade? Because of Charles?" Aria asked.

"We'll fight it. I mean, after everything we've been through we deserve to go" Emily said.

Damn right we deserve to go.

After every crap A put us through we deserve to go to our prom and have fun.

Something we deserve.

"We can all kick in for a limo. We'll have dinner at Carlo's. They've that really cute patio with all the twinkle lights" Emily grinned.

"My dress kinda was made for twinkle lights" Aria grinned.

Emily and I laughed and shook our heads.

"Ok, so if we do this will you be my prom buddy?" Aria asked.

Emily raised an eyebrow at her in confusion while I let out a small snort.

"Two single ladies, we can buy each other those giant corsages and just go out and have stupid fun. Oh, and I'll even throw in a couple of slow dances. You can lead" Aria smiled.

I laughed in amusement while Emily sighed with a faint smile on her face.

"Um...I think I might want to slow dance with somebody else" Emily said.

"Who?" Aria asked, curious.

Emily kept silent and just looked down at her hands.

I put two and two together and a gasp escaped my lips with realization hitting me.

"Sara?" I asked, a smile plastered on my face.

Emily sighed but the small smile on her face, as well as the blush, gave it away.

Aria and I glanced at each other and grinned before turning back to Emily.

The three of us then laid down on Aria's bed. I laid in between Aria and Emily and the three of us just stared up at the ceiling.

Emily was currently telling us when she realized her feelings for Sara.

She even told us about the kiss they shared.

"Was this the first time you two kissed?" Aria asked.

"Yes" Emily nodded.

"Wait" I frowned.

I sat up from the bed and looked at Emily.

"Sara doesn't know about the tracking chips, does she?" I asked.

This gained Aria's attention and she sat up from her bed.

"I didn't feel one on her neck so I figured I shouldn't tell her" Emily told us.

She sat up on the bed and laid her back against the headboard.

"Have you asked her yet to prom?" Aria asked.

"I'm not really sure how to. I mean, I know she wants more, but, we haven't really hung out like that. And prom is kind of loaded for a first date" Emily sighed.

I hummed in understanding before giving her knee a gentle pat.

"We make it a group thing, like you said" I smiled.

Emily hummed in agreement and smiled back at me.

"But Sara was down there for so long. Has she been to a high school dance? Has she even had a first date yet?" Aria asked.

"Probably not. Um, don't worry. We'll take it slow" Emily reassured her.

"Good. And we'll make sure she has an amazing time. We promise" I smiled.

"And you're okay with going solo?" Emily asked, raising an eyebrow at Aria.

Aria bit her lip while I scoffed and rolled my eyes.

"I mean, it's not 1912. You can ask the guy" Emily said.

"Yes, because going to prom with your ex teacher who is also your ex-boyfriend is every girl's dream. Oh, don't forget former creep" I smiled sarcastically.

Emily snorted in amusement and Aria let a faint smile appear before shaking her head.

"I'm sure that Caleb, Carl and Toby will throw me a bone and give me one dance" Aria smiled.

"Trust me anyone is better than Ezra" I rolled my eyes.

"Besides, I can't think of one guy in the right mind who would say yes if I asked. Not that I want the extra baggage" Aria said.

She let out a groan before lying back down on the bed.

"You're right. Prom is kind of loaded" Aria said.

Emily and I laughed before we laid back down as well.

"Okay, so, staying in the friend zone, what about Clark?" Emily asked.

"He asked a million questions about A. Uh, it's nice that he's concerned. I just, I'd rather go with someone who didn't wanna interview me" Aria explained.

"But he's a nice guy and he did introduce you to the contest" I added.

Aria hummed before sighing as she shook her head.

"I'll be fine. I'll go unescorted. Not 1912" Aria teasingly smiled.

Emily and I laughed and Aria soon joined in on the laughter.

At The Gallery

Damn.

The art gallery is packed with so many people.

But some of them are cops in disguise.

Looks like Lieutenant Tanner kept her promise about making sure this place is secure.

However, there were some gallerist that did show up.

Aria pushed me, literally pushed, to talk to them and show them my art work.

I was nervous, really nervous, but my nerves died down due to all the compliments I got from each gallerist I spoke to.

Not to mention one gallerist offered me their business card.

Remind me to hug the life out of my sister when this is all over.

Emily and I were standing together when we spotted Hanna and Spencer nearby.

We quickly walked towards them.

"What took you guys so long to get here?" I asked.

"Uh, there was just a really long line in the valet and..." Spencer trailed off but stopped when she saw the look Hanna was giving her.

Emily and I glanced at them, confused, and Spencer sighed.

"We were following a hunch about Charles" Spencer told us.

"And did you find anything?" Emily asked.

Hanna sighed and took out her phone before handing it to me.

"Don't tell Aria" Hanna whispered.

I grabbed her phone as Emily huddled closer to me.

There was a picture of Jason on Hanna's phone.

Uh why is Hanna showing us a picture of Jason?

More importantly why did she take a picture of him?

"Why would my sister care if you had a photo of Jason on your phone?" I asked, confused.

Emily nodded before asking, "wait, why do you have a photo of Jason on your phone?".

Hanna scoffed as her and Spencer glanced at each other before looking back at us.

"That's not Jason" Spencer told us.

Mine and Emily's eyes widened as we looked at the picture again.

Holy crap.

That isn't Jason but this guy really does look like him.

"He says his name is Rhys" Hanna told us.

Emily and I glanced at each other before looking back at Hanna and Spencer.

Are they saying what I think they're saying?

Do they really think that this Rhys guy is Charles?

We decided to keep quiet about this Rhys guy so we wouldn't worry Aria.

After all, this is her night.

Mom and I walked over to Aria. We held her hands and the three of us walked together.

It's starting.

"On behalf of the Cardillo Arts Fellowship, I would like to welcome you all to our gallery night" the woman spoke up.

The girls followed us and stood near us as the room went silent.

"We are here to celebrate a fresh crop of promising new photographers one of whom will leave here tonight with a $5000 cash prize and a summer internship 'to a premier travel and leisure magazine based in Los Angeles" the woman smiled.

Mom and I smiled at Aria and she smiled back at us.

"I would like to thank all of the young artists who applied this year. You gave the judges a real challenge. And thank you to the Rowitz Fine Arts Gallery for so generously hosting this event" the woman smiled.

I squeezed Aria's hand, offering her support, causing her to smile at me.

"Now, I'd like to invite you all in to meet our finalists" the woman smiled.

She removed the velvet rope and gestured to the artwork and allowed us to step forward to get a better look at the art work.

Nothing could've prepared us for what we saw.

Under Aria's name were five pictures.

Not of her artwork but of us the girls and I.

It's a picture where we were all lying on cold tables in the dollhouse. Our naked bodies being covered by the white sheets.

All of our faces fell and I felt my knees growing weak.

I wanted to throw up.

Security removed everyone with the exception of the girls and I as well as mom.

The undercover cops notified Lieutenant Tanner and she immediately came to investigate.

The girls stood a few feet away from us while Mom, Aria and I were talking with Lieutenant Tanner.

Aria and I never let go of each other's hands. Not once.

"He called the pictures Stolen Dolls? Where is this going to end?" Mom asked.

"He's talking about when he kidnapped us, right?" Aria asked.

Lieutenant Tanner sighed and ripped off the card that was under the pictures.

"Not exactly" Lieutenant Tanner shook her head.

"Are we supposed to solve his riddles now? What does the rest of it mean?" Mom asked.

"No son Linda's. The Spanish translates to, they aren't pretty. But it's a play on words. It can also mean they aren't Linda's" Lieutenant Tanner told us.

"As in Linda Tanner?" Mom asked.

"Mm-hmm" Lieutenant Tanner nodded.

"So Charles thinks when you rescued the kids that you took something from him?" Mom asked.

"As much as he wanted to ruin Aria's evening and exploit her brother and her friends, he also wanted to send me a message" Lieutenant Tanner added.

"That he thinks we belong to him? We already knew that. We lived that" I scoffed.

"I grew up in a bilingual household. I think Charles wants me to know that as much as I uncover about his identity, he can uncover details about mine" Lieutenant Tanner said.

Mom scoffed and shook her head.

"Why did this happen? How? You told us not to worry. You told us there was no threat" Mom said.

"I still stand by that" Lieutenant Tanner defended.

Bullshit.

"He did this to these kids and then he put it up on a wall for everyone to see. He was in this building!" Mom yelled.

"We are dusting for fingerprints. We have hours of security camera footage to review. We will comb through everything until we find another piece of the puzzle" Lieutenant Tanner explained.

I scowled and took a step forward, "when the hell are you going to find that piece of shit?".

Aria placed her hand on my arm and rubbed it in order to get me to calm down.

"I have to get back to the precinct. I ask that each of you give your statement to my detectives before you leave" Lieutenant Tanner said.

When she walked away I glared at her and rolled my eyes in annoyance.

Aria sighed and wrapped her arms around me to which I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her head.

I can't believe this.

I can't believe A did this.

That son of bitch is never going to leave us alone.

He needs to be caught. Soon.

"Henrik!".

Aria and I pulled away from the hug and turned around to see Caleb rushing inside the gallery.

Aria nudged my arm, gesturing for me to go over to him, causing me to smile and nod.

"Caleb!" I yelled.

Caleb turned towards me and sighed in relief.

He ran towards me and I yelped in surprise when he lifted me up and hugged me tightly.

I chuckled before hugging him back just as tightly, refusing to let him go.

We remained that way for a little bit before he set me down and we pulled away.

"Babe, what are you doing here?" I asked.

"Hanna texted me and told me what happened and I got here as fast as I could. I had to make sure you were ok" Caleb told me.

My eyes softened at his words and my heart fluttered.

"I'm fine. Now that you're here I am" I smiled.

Caleb smiled and placed a gentle kiss to my forehead before bringing me into another hug.

I sighed and hugged him back while burying my face into his shoulder.

As long as Caleb, my boyfriend and my love, is here with me I'll be 100% fine.
