Chapter 12 - Aiden
Aiden's POV
I was staying on the terrace at that party with a glass of whiskey in my hand. I am at these parties almost every night getting drunk.
Scarlett: Leave me alone. And leave Rosie too.
Damn it, Scarlett! She would never talk to me again. I made mistakes. I hurt her so bad. I was so stupid but I needed her. I never realized how much I need her in my life before she was gone. Now she was in Seattle far away from me making it even harder. I took a sip of my drink. I need to find a way to get her to talk to me. Isaac was right. These messages were a childish, stupid idea but this was all I had left. Flashbacks went through my mind. I should have kissed her. That one summer. The summer after we broke up we were so close. I wanted it but she would never know because I was scared. I was scared that she would leave me again. That night rain started pouring and all I did was to tell her to go home when our lips were almost touching. I was close. Her lips. I miss them so much. Her vanilla scent, her soft, innocent lips touched by only me back this time. I can not even think about that someone else has kissed her. It has been years, I know. But I would kill anyone who touched her. I regret. I regret letting her go. A sudden touch on my shoulder snapped me back to reality.
- Babe, you are stressing again. Let me take care of you. - Said Jessica. She meant nothing to me. We met here at university and she would fall for me just like every other girl pleading me to fuck her. And I would. I was not at my best, drinking, smoking, going to all these parties and eventually get laid. I lifted her up getting inside my room. I had room here since I was at a lot of parties and apparently, I knew a lot of people. I pushed her on the bed and removed my clothes in seconds. I leaned in and buried my head in her neck, kissing her, sucking on her skin. Jessica took my face and crashed her lips against mine. Her lips were harsh, her tongue already searching for mine. She was like everyone else. Nothing special. She was not her. She was not Scarlett. Scarlett. I fucked the out of Jessica but all I was thinking about was Scar. She will always be the one. My first love. My late night talks. My support. My heart. My everything.
I woke up the next morning next to Jessica. She was asleep and I quickly got dressed and went out. I grabbed my car keys and got in my car. I unlocked my phone and called Isaac while driving to a coffee shop for a cappuccino. I needed it so bad right now. My head was killing me from all this drinking.
- What's up, bro? - Isaac picked up.
- She responded. Isaac, she wouldn't talk to me. - I was shouting.
- What do you expect dude? It has been years. Fucking years and you want her to talk to you? You never looked for her. - He was right. And I hate myself for that.
- I know! Geez! - I shouted. - I am coming.
- Hell, you are not. Aiden, don't do shit. You put her through a lot right now.
- What do you mean? Is she okay?
- Is she okay? She cried her eyes out to sleep because of you. Let her move on. You move on too. It's too late. - Isaac said but he was not angry anymore. He was damn serious. My own best friend giving up on me. I am not giving up. It is never too late. If she did not move on, I still have a chance and I am getting her back one way or another.
I paid the barista for my coffee and she insisted on me getting the bill. When I went outside I looked she has written her number on it. She was probably my age. Another girl ready to give herself to me. Pathetic. I trashed the bill in the bin and got in my car. I dialed the next number which was in my mind - Rosie.
- C'mon pick up! - after my second dial, she picked up the phone. - Rosie. Help me.
- Aiden. Please leave me out of it. I know you miss her but... - she kept silent. Why did she stop?
- But? But what? Rosie, tell me. - I insisted.
- She is seeing someone. - I hung up the phone. Hell, she is not. Not for long.
