Actually...YOU'RE wrong

Dear Nostalgia Critic,

Hi. I have some concerns about your review for the remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. First of all, I can tell you have a very biased opinion, so I refuse to take your word that the remake is a terrible film. Even if Watchmojo agrees with you. Second of all, you made a ton of irrelevant points while arguing that the remake was worse than the original. (Which by the way, my mom hates the original, so stop bragging). The remake is a whole lot closer to the book. They actually did the pink boat, there's a nut room, Charlie is a lot more similar and good natured, and this Wonka is a lot more realistic and far less creepy. Mostly.

While I admit that some of the songs of the original are timeless classics, (I still sing "The Candy Man" down to this very day), but the newer ones are more interesting and just as memorable. (My favorite one is "Augustus Gloop"). Also, while I will admit that the original Charlie did seem to have more emotion than the other one, you have to keep in mind that Charlie is a quiet and passive character who puts everyone's needs above his own and would refuse even the slightest morsel of bread just so that his family can eat better. He doesn't stand around by his mom and whine about how poor they are and he most certainly would NEVER disobey Mr. Wonka. So...sorry, but uh...you're wrong!

This isn't a personal attack against you. Your reviews are hysterical, even if they do contain swearing. I even liked the review of James and the Giant Peach which is one of my favorite movies. Just letting you know that your old v.s new was too biased. Have a good day.

I know you'll never read this. But it sure feels lovely to write it.

Sincerely,

Me
