LOG - I

Onto A New World:

" Jason, look after your sister, Jeamie. Be her ray of hope. Survive." Was the last thing I heard from a smiling face and the first thing I remember before supposedly launching off the Aegir 575 in an escape pod/cabin.

What am I doing? The first thought rose as I began to ask myself.

Wait... First of all, how can I understand what they said? Who are they? How am I speaking to myself? Wait...how can I think if I don't even recall anything? I continued to ask myself.

I urged and finally pushed the thoughts aside and brought my vision to the flashing lights on the wall which my mind pinpointed as a "Monitor". It marked to a gauge which was seen inside the glass which was the size of a balled fist.

The gauge was counting down along with a few others but my eyes were fixated on one.

" 45,000 ft. 40,000 ft. 35,000 ft." It counted down.

Instead of considering what to do, I started thinking back to myself.

Totally idiotic, I know right?

How can I read? Am I a special person? I gasped. How can I even say words that weren't in my knowledge? While the monitor beeped," 5 seconds to impact, 4 seconds to impact..."

I gasped upon saying the word "Knowledge" inside my head. There it is again! And then, the pod surfaced on the surface of the new planet.

It broke impact with the rough terrain, shattering the poorly made glass window from the shock wave.

I got thrown out of the pod but fortunately I took a small fall on the ground.

" oww....." I rubbed my head, my mind clearing from the knock, just noticing that my supposed sister was asleep or unconscious inside. I chose the former.

" Jeamie...huh?" I whispered to myself.

She was safely secured in tight belts and after a while, I got nauseous, being confined in this tight space and opened the hatch of the pod. I stepped outside to experience the fresh air. I didn't know how I knew what the names are and where in my mind they were hidden but, I just seemed to know.

Isn't this intuition? I gasped again, silently.

I should probably not reveal this special ability. I took word of utter idiocy to myself, now that I think about it.

We were in a valley on the surface of the " Planet" named " Reflection" which was marked near the monitor. Deep greenish pointy things were pointing up top from the ground.

Or grass...

Giant brown colored structures starting from the surface and split into tiny branches of itself and were covering by weird looking things with the color light green.

Or trees...

I heard a few chirps sounding like " Tweet" coming from the structures. Upon looking closely, I saw small blue figures making that sound.

Birds...

When I thrust my hand with my palm facing up, a few for them came flying up to my hand and one landed on my shoulder, one on my palm. But one decided to just look at me with curiosity.

As if I was something it had never seen before. Since it was reason enough for me, I decided to study it's proportions.

It was mostly blue with an orange belly. It was also having some patches of white. It had a pointy thing sticking out from to face.

Or be-you know what? You should know this.

" What are you?" I asked the thing but it just titled it's head to one side, as if confused how I could speak.

" That's a kingfisher" A voice buzzed behind me.

Scared and freaked out of my mind, I did a full 180 and incidentally slapped the voice behind me. As I did it out of surprise, I added force and heard a " CHING!" accompanied by a sort of " BZZ!" static from the weird figure, filling the next few moments with silence.

And I did the first thing any irrational idiot would do.

I decided it wasn't human. But I was distracted by a yawn in the silence.

Jeamie had apparently woke up from her sleep.

I panicked as I ignored the figure that was probably knocked out and ran over to see hazel brown eyes looking right into my eyes with a small smile on her face. I extended a hand after helping her out of her harnesses and she took it without hesitation.

How did I know how to unlock the safety harness of a lifepod of unknown origin to me by the time my mind was freshly off the charts? I don't know why. I just knew how to do it, like it was preprogrammed into my brain.

She pulled herself out and hugged me as tight as she could. My guess was she was about 13 or so. Where did I learn numbers? Nevermind... I said to myself.

She tore her grip away and locked her arms behind her back and smiled her bright teeth right at me like she had not a care in the world.

And I knew I loved her from that instant......

" It's your brother, Jason. Do you know me?" I asked, hoping she was also having the ability I had.

Honestly, I'm beyond stupid...

" What do you mean, REMEMBER ME? Of course I do!" She titled her head to one side just like the thing I had on my palm. The expression of seeing a baby in a grown man's body. Only then did I realised I was indeed special.

I was missing my memories......

Wow. Anti climatic...

" I-uh-don't remember things" I stuttered.

" OF COURSE YOU DON''T!!" The same buzzing voice bickered behind me. I screamed and nearly fell on Jeamie but avoided to make a bad first impression.

On my side, at least.

" Oi! There you are! How'd you get out?" Jeamie asked, confusion clear on her face.

She seemed to remember but I don't. Why? But why me? If she does and I don't, am I stupid? But I know if I don't, there must be a good reason why.

So many Buts and Ifs......

" I was about to wake you Jem, but your brother rudely slapped my motherboard off" He complained. I assumed he was a he.

Don't judge me.

She noticed the blue blobby thing and went,"OOH! What a pretty bird!"

My pride was shattered mercilessly into a million pieces. Maybe more.

But even though she was just a little kid, boy, was she mature. She ran around the valley and went to play with the metallic guy whom she said was a "ROBOT".

Gosh have I got a lot to learn......

I did some scouting of the place when the robot interrupted me."Oh, yeah! I forgot to introduce myself. I am ATACC. It stands for All Terrain Assitive Contraption and Companion" He buzzed static as if being pleased with himself for remembering his name.

"Well, I'm Jason. At least I think it is" I replied simply.

"Jason......" He closed his electronic bright eyes, shruddered and opened them back with a "DING!" He continued,"Kytte. The sole person who actually stayed alive in the Trails, huh?. I really can't search anymore. It's classified!?" He went spouting nonsense I couldn't really decipher after that.

I ignored ATACC but he gave me a flat object he called the Intelli Pad. It consisted of all the information I needed about this place. The Kingfishers ATACC mentioned were "Organisms" called "Birds".

The brown structures were "Trees" and the above mentioned three had a lot of varieties.

I sighed. I had a lot to memorise......

And so, I went back to the pod/cabin I called "Home".

This is the unedited version of a story I wrote 2 years ago. So please bear with me if it ain't as grammatical or as exciting. I am going to continue to upgrade this story as I left it unfinished. (Guess I'll switch between uploading Journey To You and this, huh?)
