*Adelyne's POV*

We all waited for everyone to come back. I was shivering a bit from the breeze but I stood with Carol for support and because I'd be waiting if someone promised to bring my daughter back. Right now Rick and Daryl were looking for Sophia. I heard Andrea arguing with Dale that she wanted her gun and I walked over there along with Shane.

"Everything okay?" Shane asked.

Andrea looked at us then back to Dale.

"No I want my gun back" she said.

"I don't think it's a good idea right now" Dale told us.

I ran a hand through my hair pushing it away from my eyes.

"Why not?"

Dale turned to look at me with a look.

"I'm not comfortable with it."

We all looked at shane who hung looked away and then back at us and cleared his throat.

"Truth is less guns we have floating around camp the better" Shane explained.

Andrea looked irratated nad crossed her arms over her chest.

"You turning over your weapon?" she asked with a smug look.

Shane scuffed with a chuckle.

"No but I'm trained in its use. That's what the rest of y'all need is proper training but until that time I think it best that Dale keeps all off them accounted for" Shane explained to us.

Honestly I didn't see a problem with that. It really wasn't a big deal we had weapons best someone holds onto them so they aren't just all floating around as Shane said. I looked at them and said nothing.

"I think we need to keep our guns to keep us safe now give me mine" Andrea demanded.

I rolled my eyes annoyed.

"Andrea it's not a huge deal. It's not like you don't know where it is, get over it" I told her annoyed by her attitude.

That's when she looked at me and glared her blonde hair blowing with the breeze. She obviously didn't like the way I talked to her but someone had to do it. I moved my hair from my eyes and looked at her.

"Shut up Adelyne no one was talking to you. I need to get over it, you need to get over everything. yourself, Mike...Katie"

Her look was smug and it irked me. She didn't have to bring them into it at all. I slowly advanced towards her and she backed up.

"I'm gunng hit you" I said.

Andrea kept stepping back.

"You're not gunna hit me please don't"

"I'm gunna hit and knock all your little buttons right off your shirt" I told her but stopped when Shane grabbed my arm to stop me.

I didn't like Shane all that much but I liked Rick and they were best friends so he knew me and knew what I was capable of when someone came at me and people I cared about. Alive or dead.

"Oh god they're back" Glenn said putting down supplies and running over.

We all ran over to seen Daryl and Rick walk up without Sophia. And instantly my heart sank

"Where is she?" I said softly to myself.

Carol was on the verge of tears looking at them.

"You didn't find her?" she asked upset.

"Her trail went cold, we'll pick it up first light" Rick explained stepping over the rail just as Daryl did.

Tears fell down Carol's face and I felt for her. I knew what it was like now seeing as how my daughter was gone I wanted Carol to get her little girl back.

"You can't leave her alone to spend the night in the woods."

"Hunting in the darks no good we'd just be tripping over ourselves. More people get lost" Daryl said meeting my sad eyes.

"But she's twelve she can't be out there on her own you didnt find anything?" her voice rose.

Rick put a hand on her shoulder and looked at her.

"I'm asking you not to panic we know she was out there"

"And we tracked her for a while" Daryl finished.

I leaned against one of the cars and hung my head for a second. Sophia was a cute little girl and she was alone out there. I must have zoned out because then I heard Carol's raised voice say.

"How could you just leave her?!"

I looked over and seen Ricks face he felt like he failed Sophia and Carol. Daryl walked over and stood by me. Everything was silent and then Rick stood up and walked away. I looked after him and then at Lori and nodded I looked to Daryl telling him to give me a minute and I ran after Rick.

"Rick" I said trying to catch up.

I banged my knee on an open car door

"Ow!"

I hissed in pain and that's when Rick stopped and looked at me walking back. I held my knee,

"You okay?" he asked.

"Yeah" I stood up ignoring the pain. "Are you okay?"

Rick looked away and then back to me and didn't say anything.

"Look Carol knows you did your best she's hurting you know that" I explained to him.

He sighed and hung his head for a moment.

"What about you? Do you think I failed? What if it had been Katie?"

That question hit home a little bit. I took a deep breath and took a moment to collect my feelings.

"I wouldn't think you failed me. I mean it's a little hard to answer because it's Sophia who is in the woods not Katie. My daughter is gone and I'm trying to accept that. I sympathize with Carol because I am a mother so I understand her pain. Rick I know you tried the best you could and you'll keep trying because that's the kind of man you are" I explained hoping I was making him feel a little better.

Rick looked at me he didn't exactly smile it was a little grin and he pulled me into a hug and shook me I chuckled.

"Thanks Adelyne I needed that. Now get back to the others" he told me.

I kissed his cheek and gave him one last hug and he smiled. Rick was the closest thing to a father I had so I respected the hell out of this man. I said goodbye to him and let him have his space and walked back with the pain going through my knee.
