Chapter twenty six - Out numbered.

The four of them were now making their exit, walking around different corridors and passing different rooms and they were pretty sure that they were lost, but they would find their way out eventually. Evan didn't know what to do or how to react, he just stared at Steve like he has seen a ghost and followed after the group. Bucky opened the door a crack and peered out. The corridor was still empty despite the loud alarm piercing their ears. They silently stepped out of the room, bolting the door behind them. Amelia's muscles were weak, Evan felt like vomiting, Steve's head was making his vision slightly weird and Bucky felt nervous, but not from the usual adrenaline he experience before any fight or mission- he felt worried for his friends. He didn't want to let them down. But as long as they could all stand, they could carry on.

Suddenly, a few guards came into the corridor with guns aimed at their heads. Amelia stood still in her tracks as they fired the angry guns towards them, and Bucky quickly stood in front of her and quickly pushed her to the side, towards another room. It wasn't difficult to figure out that they were only aiming at Amelia and Evan, as they only wanted Bucky and Steve. However, they were apparently not opposed to shooting him in the leg.

Bucky yelled out, stumbling forwards and falling heavily to his knees. The bullet had hit him in his thigh, avoiding bone. A very precise shot, designed to slow him down but not to injure him seriously. The pain, however, was very serious, and he couldn't stop his cries as he gripped his leg to stop the blood from seeping out of his soft, delicate skin.

"Bucky!" Amelia yelled, crouching down to help him. Meanwhile, Steve was firing back with a gun he had picked up along the way, and Evan had resulted in chucking random things at them to try and slow them down but failed miserably. Bucky managed to weakly stand up and then practically threw himself into the room on the left side of the corridor, Amelia, Evan and Steve following after him and bolting the door shut behind them.

The room they found themselves in was big. There were at least ten desks around the room and a open, spacey area in the middle of the room. There were also four more doors around the room that lead to different places.

"You bloody idiot." Amelia muttered, staring at Bucky who just gave her a glum look in return. Steve chucked his empty gun onto the floor angrily and retreated into helping Bucky onto his feet.

"Look's like you're the one who needs help now." Steve said, supporting Bucky as he walked him towards the centre of the room where there was more space, "So, pick a door. Look's like we have a few options."

"I think we're lost." Evan commented, looking around the empty room as it echoed their voices, "Those doors could lead to anywhere."

"Well, we haven't really got much of a choice." Steve replied, carefully putting Bucky back onto the floor and then walking towards a desk. He started to push the desk towards the the middle of the dull room so Bucky could lean against it while he sorted out his leg. "You want to hurry, we haven't got long."

"Hey, Buck..." Amelia said quietly to Bucky, looking down at him as he tried to stop the blood from coming out of his body- and doing a good job at that. She knew he could cope better then ordinary people, anyway. "You're going to be okay."

Bucky looked up to meet her eyes. Even after everything they've been through she still managed to look beautiful. "...I know."

And then, as if on cue, the door behind them bursts open and at least twenty guards walk through with guns threatening them. They turned their heads to look at them, but almost immediately turned their heads back around to face another door as another twenty guards walk through it. Another twenty come into the room through another door, and then another twenty come through the other. They soon found themselves trapped in the centre of the room, surrounded by at least one hundred guards. Their hearts began to beat rapidly against their chests as their breathing stopped, realising that they were out numbered.

"This isn't fair." Evan whispered, his voice strained as he tried to hide behind Steve. Bucky forgot about his wound and slowly started to stand, his face turning into a mixture of anger and doubt. He stood in front of Amelia, looking around at the competent guards as he waited for someone else to show up. The one who gave out the orders.

"Well, well...Храбрый солдат." A voice of a man could be heard, a mixture of Russian and English- although his strong accent was clear, "We've been expecting you for quite some time..."
