Beacon

I was anxious on the bullhead to Beacon. I was trying to basically blend into the corner with my hood down, trying my best to cover my face. Luckily, no reincarnators figured out how to apply to Beacon, or they failed the entry exam.

Azura: Maybe I should have asked for a private ride. Why did I have to get her social awkwardness? The one quirk she has that I see as a negative.

I looked around at the many faces and noticed Jaune Arc, the boy that gets so many fanfics that make him overpowered. It's nauseating. I also see Yang with OG Ruby giving her a bear hug.

Azura: (thoughts) Okay, I just got to stay out of sight and don't interact with the main cast. Weekends I look for reincarnators and go for the kill.

I continued to look around, seeing all the weapons of other people somewhat lowered my anxiety.

Azura: (thoughts) Ruby's a weapon nut at heart, and I guess that makes me one now, too.

The bullhead dipped down descending to our destination. I was so in my own head that I didn't realize. There was a small jolt when we landed. I waited for everyone else to get off before leaving myself. Once off the bullhead, I just stared at the sight of Beacon Academy.

Azura: Definitely amazing looking. Okay, now to the auditorium and not get distracted by the weapons that everyone has.

I walked around the courtyard to avoid the future team RWBY members and make my way to the auditorium, and try to find a secluded spot hidden within the growing crowd of future students. I stood there waiting for the introductory speech with one thought going through my head.

Azura: (thoughts) I should have bought things to disguise myself with from the system shop.

Weiss: You!

I jumped up startled. Letting out a cute, scared sound. I turned to face one of the characters I was hoping to avoid Weiss Schnee. Looking her over, she's definitely cute for being petite.

Azura: Uh, yes?

Weiss: You're lucky we weren't blown off the side of the cliff!

Azura: (pulling out my scroll) I think you have the wrong person. I wasn't in an explosion. I still have full aura, see.

She looked and narrowed her eyes at my scroll, noticing I was telling the truth.

Weiss: Oh. It appears I mistaken you for someone else. Do you have a twin, perhaps?

Azura: Not that I know of. Well, I hope you find the person you're looking for, Snow Angel.

Weiss blinks at the nickname before composing herself with a small tinge of red that appeared on her cheeks.

Weiss: I'll let that name slide. I'll leave you be then.

She walks off her heels, clicking along the tiles as she disappears into the crowd.

Azura: (quietly) Crisis avoided for now.

More students were filtering in, and I was slowly mentally categorizing the weapons.

Yang: Ruby over here. I saved you a spot.

I looked over to the sound, seeing Yang waving her hand towards the entrance. I looked over to the entrance and saw Ruby coming in with Jaune.

Azura: Good Yang didn't see me she was yelling toward her sister.

There were many mutterings of the crowd wondering when it's going to start when I heard Weiss yelling again.

Weiss: You!

It sounds like she found OG Ruby this time. This also means Ozpin will do his speech soon after more mutterings for the nearby people. Ozpin walked up to the mic on stage, eliciting the auditorium to quiet down.

Ozpin: I'll... keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction. (as the students whisper among themselves) You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step.

Glynda: (As Ozpin leaves, she steps up to talk) You will gather in the ballroom tonight. Tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed.

3rd Pov

Ruby's small group after the speech.

Yang: He seemed kind of... off.

Ruby: It's almost like he wasn't even there.

Jaune: (approaching Weiss from the side) I'm a natural blond, you know!

Weiss puts her hand to her face in exasperation. She removes it after a moment, turning towards Ruby and Yang, ignoring Jaune altogether.

Weiss: Ruby, do you, by chance, have a twin?

Ruby: A twin? No, just me.

Yang: Trust me, one Ruby is enough.

Ruby: Why?

Weiss: I met someone who looked exactly like you and mistaken her for you.

Azura's Pov

I noticed the group around Ruby disperse minus Yang, but it felt like they shouldn't have been around each other as long as that. I left the auditorium with a crowd, and once outside, I got a message from James.

James: (text) Hey Ruby. My brother and I got personally scouted by Ozpin. He wanted us to take the initiation early for some reason, and we'd get to pick our teams after the others get formed.

Then I get a text from Ozpin.

Ozpin: (text) Your targets are on their way to Beacon cliff if you wish to "deal" with them quietly.

Azura: Huh? (Quietly) Did Ozpin bring the targets I met a few days ago early to separate them from the rest? Either way, I can deal with them and maybe get another addition to the collection.

I started heading towards the cliff to meet my "friends." The trek was long, but I spotted them next to the tiles that'll launch us into the forest tomorrow.

Azura: Hey, you two!

Loid: Ruby, what are you doing here?

Azura: I came to see you two off on your special initiation.

I approached Loid, arms behind my back as Destiny's Ward appeared in my hands from my inventory.

James: That's sweet of you. Did you pass Ozpin on the way here?

I slowly dropped my facade.

Azura: Nope. But you won't be meeting him in this lifetime anyway.

Loid: Huh?

I extend its blade as I bring Destiny's Ward in front of me and through Loid’s chest.

James: Holy shit! Bro! Ruby? Why I thought -

Azura: What that we were childhood friends. Yeah, I was just playing along with you edgelord reincarnators.

James: What do you mean we are, though.

I pull the blade out and aim the pistol form at his head.

Azura: We're not, though, and I'm not Ruby. Just someone who is cleaning up a lot of gods' mistakes.

I fired multiple times as I hit him, breaking his aura as the kill shot going through his forehead. He slumped to the ground next to the cliff. I reextend the blade and swing it to get rid of the blood. I put it back in my inventory as I also collect Cataclysmic Edge as well as James's weapons and put them in my inventory.

Rewards: 20,000 shop points.

I hum in acknowledgment as I start rolling and shoving the bodies off the cliff with my feet.

Azura: There. That should work out for later. The fall will obscure how they died and is extremely unlikely for any of the new students to find unless they scale the cliff back up here.

I texted Ozpin that the two idiots are dead. I am quite ecstatic about the new scythe I got. It could be helpful in terms of disguising myself.

Azura: It'll need a name change and a new paint job. Being all black is especially dull, and Cataclysmic Edge is such an edgelord name. Hmmm. Maybe make it a sister weapon to my beloved Crescent Rose.

I start walking back to Beacon while thinking of new names for it. The color scheme is probably going to be white and red opposite of Crescent Rose.

Azura: Waxing Rose? Something Rose, it's going to be the sister to my beloved Crescent Rose. Twilight Rose!

Timeskip

In the ballroom, I was dressed in some actual pajamas, a t-shirt with dogs on it, and rose printed sleep pants. I was basically laying in the corner of the room on my side, half tempted to put a pillow over my head while I slept in my sleeping bag.

Azura: (thoughts) Just got to get through initiation, and then I can blend into the background.

Soon, I could hear bits and pieces of the conversation of Yang trying to help Ruby make friends with Blake. I did hear the end of it, though.

Weiss: What in the world is going on over here?! Don't you realize some of us are trying to sleep?

Weiss and Yang: Oh, not you again!

Ruby: Shh! Guys, she's right! People are trying to sleep!

Weiss: Oh, now you're on my side!

Ruby: I was always on your side!

Yang: Yeah, what's your problem with my sister? She's only trying to be nice!

Weiss: She's a hazard to my health!

The light from that area went out, which I believe was Blake as I'm guessing, followed by the three stumbling in the darkened area.

Timeskip

The following morning, I'm standing on a tile on the far left end of the group away from Jaune, Ruby, and Yang, which were on the far right side.

Ozpin: For years, you have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest.

Glynda: Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of "teams." Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates... today.

Ruby: What? Ohhh...

Ozpin: These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well.

Ruby: (groaning)

Ozpin: That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years.

Ruby: Whaaaat?!

Nora: (to Ren) See? I told you -!

Ozpin: After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path... or you will die.

Jaune laughs nervously and then gulps loudly.

Ozpin: You will be monitored and graded through the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?

Jaune: Yeah, um, sir?

Ozpin: Good! Now, take your positions.

I quickly ready myself as I was launched first. Soaring through the air, I let instinct take over as I used petal burst to get me to the ground safely. Landing in a  clearing my combat boots digging into the ground. I grabbed Crescent Rose from my back and ready it in front of me as I started walking through the forest. I was doing my best to avoid other students hearing fights between new students and Grimm happening in the distance. I stopped next to a tree for a moment when I looked to my right and saw a fire breaking out in a short distance away in another clearing. Two people came from that direction that I was hoping not to meet.

Ruby: What was that?! That should have been!... (locks eyes with me) easy.

Weiss: Well, perhaps if you had exercised even the slightest amount of caution with the placement of your strikes, I wouldn't have set the forest on fire!

Ruby: Weiss not now. Who are you, and why do you look like me?

Azura: I so don't have the mental energy for this.

Weiss: She looks exactly like you! This is why I asked you if you had a twin.

I was about to walk off, but Ruby dashed in front of me, looking over my Crescent Rose.

Ruby: Her Crescent Rose is even the same!

Azura: Just call me Azura. I also don't know what to call the fact I look like you, but I don't mind being called a twin to you it would make any explanation easier, I'd say.

Ruby: Ohhhh, wait till Yang, Dad, and Uncle Qrow learn about you.

Azura: We have an initiation to finish. I still need to find a partner.

Weiss: Just stick with us. We're bound to come across others on our way.

Azura: Alright, Snow Angel, I'll follow both of you.

Weiss took charge and started walking in front of Ruby and me with us following.

Ruby: What's your weapon called? Is it Crescent Rose, too? Did you make it yourself?

Azura: Yes, and yes.

Ruby’s eyes lit up, her weapon‑nut heart practically glowing.

Ruby: That’s amazing! We could compare notes later. I bet Yang would freak out if she saw us side by side.

We soon reached another clearing, clearly lost. Ruby and I sat in the center of the clearing for a bit.

Weiss: (walking right) It's definitely this way. (stops and starts walking left) I mean... this way! It's definitely this way. (stops in front of Ruby) Alright, it's official. We passed it.

Ruby: (stands up, slightly annoyed) Weiss, why can't you just admit that you have no idea where we're going?

Weiss: Because I know exactly where we're going! We're going... to... the forest temple!

Ruby: (sighs, frustrated)

Weiss: Oh, stop it! You don't know where we are, either!

Ruby: Well, at least I'm not pretending like I know everything.

Weiss: What is that supposed to mean?

Ruby: It means you're a big, stupid jerk, and I hate you!

Weiss: (sighs to herself, spinning around and walking in another direction) Just keep moving!

Ruby: (in a faux imitation of Weiss' voice) Oh, just keep moving! Hurry up! Waaaah! Watch where you're going! (in her normal voice) Why are you so bossy?

Weiss: (turning back around to face Ruby) I'm not bossy! Don't say things like that!

Ruby: Stop treating me like a kid!

Weiss: Stop acting like a kid!

Ruby: Well, stop acting like you're perfect!

Weiss: I'm. Not. Perfect! Not yet... But I'm still leagues better than you. (continues to walk away)

Ruby: (to herself) You don't even know me...

Azura: How about instead of arguing, we look for a way to get a vantage point, maybe we can see the temple then.

Mini timeskip

I don't know how Ruby talked me into this. We were currently clinging to a giant nevermore. We finally were above the temple, too.

Weiss: (shouting to be heard) Ruby! I told you this was a terrible idea!

Ruby: (also raising her voice) We're fine! Stop worrying!

Weiss: I am so far beyond worrying!

Ruby: In a good way?

Weiss: In a bad way! In a very bad way!

Ruby: Well, why don't we just jump?

Azura: Better than sticking up here!

I let go of the nevermore the same time as Ruby leaving Weiss on the nevermore and plummeting towards the temple.

Weiss: What are you? Insane?!

Ruby: Heads uuuuuup!

After some free falling and before I could do anything to save myself and Ruby, we were hit by something, sending us into a tree. Ruby was leaning against the trunk of the tree dazed on a branch while I was laying on her lap and also dazed.

Ruby: What was that?

Azura: Anyone catch what hit us?

Jaune: Hey Ruby... and her twin?

I shake my head as does Ruby and notice Jaune hanging upside down on the branch above us. Before we could have a conversation, there were roars and explosions from the tree line as Nora, which rode in on a Ursa, then killed it.

Nora: Yeee haww!

She got quieter with Ren coming up beside her, and I couldn't make out what was said before she basically dashed towards the temple and grabbed a relic.

Nora: I'm queen of the castle! I'm queen of the castle!

Ren: Nora!

Nora: Coming, Ren!

Turning my attention back to the current predicament of getting on the branch carefully.

Azura: A little help, Ruby. I don't exactly want to fall on my butt.

She grabs me and helps turn me around as louder noises can be heard as Pyrrha runs out of the forest as a Deathstalker chases after her.

Pyrrha: Jaune!

Jaune: Pyrrha!

Ruby: Whoa.

Both Ruby and I get to our feet and jump off the branch, and roll to our feet.

Jaune: (whining) Ruby!

Yang: Ruby! And Ruby?

Ruby: (excited) Yang! (raises her arms as if to give her sister a hug)

Nora: Nora! (comes between the two and knocking them off-balance in surprise)

The deathstalker continues to chase Pyrrha.

Blake: Did she just run all the way here with a Death Stalker on her tail?

Yang: (getting angrier until she growls and erupts in a small burst of fire, eyes flashing red) I can't take it anymore! Can everyone just chill out for two seconds before something crazy happens again?!

I walk beside Yang as Ren stops next to a bouncing Nora.

Azura: (poking Yang's shoulder) Uh... Yang.

She turns to me as I point towards the nevermore that Weiss was still clinging to.

Weiss: (calling down to Ruby) How could you leave me?!

Ruby: (shouting up at Weiss) I said "jump"!

Blake: She's gonna fall.

Ruby: She'll be fine.

Ren: She's falling.

Jaune runs and jumps from the tree, catching her but still falls with Jaune falling flat on his face and Weiss landing on his back with Pyrrha still running from the Deathstalker behind them in the distance.

Weiss: (mockingly) My hero.

Jaune: (groaning) My back...

Pyrrha then got smacked by the deathstalker towards the ground in front of our group.

Yang: Great! The gang's all here! Now we can die together!

Ruby: (to me) Thinking what I'm thinking?

Azura: I believe so.

We both dash forward with our Crescent Roses unfolded in scythe form using the sniper recoil to launch ourselves at the deathstalker. We both got smacked back after we attempted to slash it.

Azura: (quietly) Yep, that was a dumb plan.

Ruby:  (getting up slowly) D-Do-Don't worry! Totally fine!

She turns and fires at its face as the bullet bounced off, and we both run away. Yang started running towards us, probably still unsure which is the real Ruby.

Yang: Ruby!

The Nevermore sent its feathers at us catching Ruby's cloak. I stop to help unpin her cloak but was struggling with it.

Yang: Ruby, get out of there!

Ruby: (struggling with the cloak) I'm trying!

I looked over to see the deathstalker reached us as it raised its stinger, ready to strike. I shove Ruby and myself to the ground as the stinger comes towards us, but the hit never comes.

Weiss: You are so childish.

We slowly got up as the feather no longer pinned Ruby, and the deathstalker's stinger and claw was frozen in a block of ice.

Ruby: Weiss...?

Weiss: (continues to berate Ruby as she removes Myrtenaster from the ice) And dim-witted, and hyperactive, and don't even get me started on your fighting style. And I suppose I can be a bit... difficult... but if we're going to do this, we're going to have to do this together. So if you quit trying to show off, I'll be... nicer.

Ruby: I'm not trying to show off. I want you to know I can do this.

Weiss: You're fine. (walks away)

Ruby: Normal knees...

She gets up and stares at the Death Stalker as it struggles to escape with its tail trapped in the ice.

Ruby: Whoa!

Azura: Yeah, amazing dust control.

Yang ran up to us, looking between us uncertain which of us is Ruby before just hugging both of us.

Yang: So happy you're okay.

Azura: Too tight.

Ruby: Yang...

She let's go of us as I put on a smirk and look at Ruby.

Yang: Okay, who's actually Ruby?

Azura: Thinking what I'm thinking.

Ruby: I think so.

Yang: What's going on?

Azura: Oh, you'll just have to figure out whose actually Ruby, dear sister.

We both head back to the temple as Yang follows behind us.

Jaune: Guys? That thing's circling back! What are we gonna do?

Weiss: Look, there's no sense in dilly-dallying. Our objective is right in front of us.

Ruby: She's right. Our mission is to grab an artifact and make it back to the Cliffs. (nods to Weiss) There's no point in fighting these things.

Jaune: Run and live, that's an idea I can get behind!

Jaune and Ruby go to grab their relics. Ruby handed the Relic to Weiss to hold onto.

Ruby: You're not grabbing a relic?

Azura: I don't have a partner. There's no point.

Ren: Time we left.

Ruby: Right. (waves to the others) Let's go!

We all run through the forest, reaching another set of ruins next to the cliff. We were followed by the nevermore as it perched on the tower ahead of us. We all went behind the different pillars to take cover for a moment.

Yang: (annoyed) Well, that's great!

The deathstalker from before burst into the area through the trees.

Jaune: Ah, man, run!

We all leave our hiding spots and run towards the nevermore as it takes off slightly.

Ren: Nora, distract it!

The Nevermore started firing feathers at the other group behind us as Nora shot its face with a grenade, making it fly off temporarily. We started going across the bridge as the deathstalker was too big for said bridge. We were soon separated by the nevermore as it bashed through the bridge, Ruby and I fired at it as it flew away. Once out of range, they started getting higher up to have a better angle with their shots. I stayed low as I saw Blake jumping off the nevermore next to the others on the tower. The nevermore appeared again and was on a crash course with the tower. I started firing at it, as did the future team RWBY that was on the tower. It went through the tower, making it crumble as the group had to get up jumping from falling debris so they didn't fall into the chasm below while I dodged around the falling debris. Weiss and Ruby land next to me.

Azura: High ground wasn't exactly a good idea, was it.

Weiss: None of this is working!

Ruby: I have a plan! Cover me!

Azura: Okay!

She dashes off to the other two to likely explain her plan. Weiss and I continued to fire ranged attacks in the direction of the nevermore. I launched myself to one of the still standing pillars and continued to fire at it when Ruby came beside me.

Ruby: How'd you like to be a projectile with me?

Azura: I don't think my extra weight will help it'd slow us down better to launch one of us. I vote for you.

Ruby: Oh, ok. I was somewhat hoping for some scythe sister action.

I just turned my attention back towards the fight as the Nevermore crashed into the cliff. Weiss dashed forward towards the nevermore and froze its tail to the ground it crashed at. Blake throws her weapon towards Yang as they make a makeshift sling shot as Ruby jumps with her Crescent Rose to be the projectile and was held in place by Weiss's glyph for a moment before being launched with Ruby dragging the nevermore up the cliff ending with her decapitating the Grimm bird. I drop down to the center with the other girls.

Yang: Well, that was a thing.

Azura: Yeah, I wanted to get launched, too, but it would've likely slowed us down.

Yang: Are you Ruby, or is the one on the cliff Ruby?

Azura: As much as I'd like to keep messing with you, I'm Azura, the one up the cliff is Ruby. Now I guess I have to face the music of not having a relic or partner.

Timeskip

Ozpin: Russel Thrush. Cardin Winchester. Dove Bronzewing. Sky Lark. The four of you retrieved the black bishop pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team CRDL, led by... Cardin Winchester!

The audience gives one more wave of ovation, while four students walk up to the stage to take their places in front of the headmaster as their faces fill the screen.

Ozpin: Jaune Arc. Lie Ren. Pyrrha Nikos. Nora Valkyrie. The four of you retrieved the white rook pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team JNPR.

Amid the clapping, Nora laughs and gives Ren a hug.

Ozpin: Led by... Jaune Arc!

Jaune: Huh? L-Led by...?

Ozpin: Congratulations, young man.

A grinning Pyrrha offers a friendly shoulder bump to Jaune, but her "fine leader" is knocked over and falls to his butt in front of the laughing audience.

Ozpin: And finally: Blake Belladonna. Ruby Rose. Weiss Schnee. Yang Xiao Long. The four of you retrieved the white knight pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team RWBY. Led by... Ruby Rose!

Weiss looks to her right surprised, where Ruby is obviously in shock as Yang goes over to hug her sister.

Yang: I'm so proud of you!

They leave the stage as another picture appears on screen, Ruby or me. I slowly walk up uncertain about what's going on exactly.

Ozpin: We had some technical issues at the beginning of the initiation. We were unable to track the students until after the pairs were formed, and the facility that observed also lost track of who was who when it came to you and your apparent twin during it. With Ms. Schnee, being the one turning in the Relic and, going only off her word, she partnered with Ruby. We would be remissed if it was, in fact, the other way around. So congratulations, Azura Rose, you will be the fifth member of team RWBY.

My eyes widened a bit at that placement. My mind started racing over the multiple questions from them. I looked over to my team. Ruby looked ecstatic, Yang looked like she wanted answers to questions, Blake looked indifferent, and Weiss looked okay with the situation. I practically sprinted off the stage to try to avoid the team.

Azura: (quietly to herself) I was supposed to be in the background to watch from afar. To keep the pervs and edgelords with knowledge away.

I ended up at the dorm room building. I go through the halls over thinking the conversation with myself somehow ending up on the roof of the building. With nowhere else to go, I sit on the edge of the roof.

Ruby: Azura?

I turned my head towards the door that led to the roof to see Ruby walking out onto the rooftop.

Azura: (unsure) Yeah?

Ruby: Why did you run off?

Azura: I... I don't know. I know that there's going to be so many questions about me and you and... I honestly don't know how to answer them. I was expecting to be expelled because I didn't find a partner or collect a relic.

Ruby walked up next to me and sat down with me.

Ruby: Maybe you should have, but Prof. Ozpin is the headmaster, so he had the final say. Besides, I get to learn about my apparent twin now.

Azura: Those questions are the ones I don't really know how to answer.

Ruby: I was more wondering how much alike we are.

Azura: Oh.

Ruby: Yang might want to know about where you've been and stuff like that. I could care less.

Azura: Oh, why don't we discuss that when it's just the team. It would be a lot of me explaining stuff I don't feel like explaining. So twins?

Ruby: Twins. (Getting up) Let's head to the dorm. (Pulls out her scroll) Could we go ahead and exchange scroll numbers?

Azura: Sure. (Gets up)

We exchange our numbers as I follow her to the dorm room. She opened the door to the dorm to reveal four beds and suitcases.

Azura: I take it, the team already picked beds.

Ruby: Yeah.

Azura: So... where am I sleeping then?

Ruby: Oh, Weiss and Yang suggested that you sleep with me saying you wouldn't be weird with me or something because of twins stuff.

Azura: Oh, okay. I'm gonna go ahead and get a shower and get ready for bed. We have classes tomorrow.

Ruby: Kay. I'll let everyone know I found you.

I walk into the bathroom and strip and set up my clothes for the night on the counter next to the sink. I pulled the body purification elixir out of my inventory and looked at the bottle in my hands.

Azura: This should be beneficial to me, right?

I opened the bottle and chugged the liquid from it. My muscles clenched as if it was trying to squeeze something out of me. While feeling this sensation, I got into the shower as black oily liquid was brought to the surface of my skin. I turned on the shower as the substance washed away with ease as my skin felt smoother as I wiped it away with the water as it went down the drain.

Screen: You've taken a body purification elixir. Charm has been boosted by 2x. Muscle development has been altered. You will no longer develop muscles in the traditional sense and will develop in density rather than volume. Dexterity has been boosted by 1.5x. Aura has been boosted by 2x.

I hummed in acknowledgment as I dismissed the screen. I was intrigued by the buffs I got, but charm could work for or against me. I continued to bathe myself as I soon started to sing in the shower.

(Legends never die)

I get out after washing thoroughly and dress into my pajamas. They looked exactly the same as the ones from last night. After I was dressed for bed, I left the bathroom to see three of my four teammates looking at me. Blake was the only one who was just reading, not paying attention to me coming out of the bathroom.

Yang: (half‑teasing, half‑serious) So… was that you singing in there, or Ruby?

Azura: Did you expect me to be exactly like Ruby?

Weiss: It was... decent.

Ruby: I wonder if I could sing like that.

Azura: Maybe... or you could be tone deaf. We may have the same voice, but singing talent may not be. (Yawns) Now I'm gonna go to bed. Which bed is the one we're sharing, Ruby?

Ruby: Far left.

I hopped into the bed and took the left side of the bed.
