Rejoice is the third daughter from a family of four, a devoted Christian, graduate, a great public administrator, entrepreneur and a conservative person.
Her two elder sisters are both married except her and her younger brother.
She is a career woman that made sure she is responsible and independent before indulging in intimate affairs that's why she stayed single until twenty seven when she had attained a great height in her career. But she was passively looking out for an interesting potential spouse during her career pursuit.
God's word, fasting, prayers and the holy spirit was her guidance in life and she didn't fail to seek God's counseling on her relationship aspect of her life.

When she couldn't find her type of man at twenty nine after her career pursuit, her inner man inspired her to opt to get hook up with her kind of man through a radio program that connects singles together for a possible relationship.

She went to the studio and did a live broadcast seeking for an interested partner.

Mark, Mike and John are friends and public servants under Federal government establishments who had been hurt each by their first love and they have been venting their anger on other girls that they can get by using and dumping them like peak milk tins.
They declared player's life and stick together by the reason of their past experience with their first love and any girl that proves hard to get they play along until they get her laid and her resources famished by them before they dump her. And if they come across a girl that is financially independent and seriously frowns at premarital sex they don't mind marrying such hard to get girl just to snag, bag and ditch her afterwards.

Mike fell for his first love Glory when he was a freshman in the university and she reciprocated. They were both choristers in their church and their affair was an exemplary one because they so much loved each other to the point Mike planned to marry her when he is done with school at least that's what he thought until Glory later fell in love with another guy and after breaking up with Mike she got married to the new guy four months after.

Mike was so hurt and frustrated that he left the church and ceased attending church entirely, he was partially angry with God for letting him loss her but his absolute anger centered on the female gender generally excluding his late mother of course. He believed that all girls are the same, unfaithful, unreliable and betrayers. Their breakup caused him a lot of carryover in his three hundred level because he lost the zeal and desire to move on, she was like the center of his life. He was so hurt that he and everyone believed that he will never recover from the loss. His spiritual life gradually died and he followed the worldly ways instead that's why he openly welcomed Mark and John when they came along because they too had been hurt by a girl who happened to be their first love as well. The trio declared a player's life forever and lived sorely to use any girl they can get as rag.

They have been following the singles connection program on radio and planned to be involved one day when a female will be needing a male companion just so that they can hurt her too just like they were hurt before.
So when they heard Rejoice being hosted they made Mike call in the show and spoke with her. He played her and got invited for a date with her out of the five guys that called in the show showing their interest in her.

He liked her instantly when he met her in person during the date but he refused to let his heart get in the way of his goal.
With his player's ethics he won her heart immediately and he knew it and used that to his advantage.

"Man the fool is so nice and transparent but you know she can't fool me because I have seen her type before." He told his friends the following day after the date.

"Of course, they always appear as the innocent ones but become the guilty ones eventually, just like our first love" Mark replied bitterly, he believed that he will never get over her loss no matter how he tried.

"It's all for our good because that way we will always get our way with them and ditch them before they know it, dumb a** they will always be." John chirped in.

"Get right in her skin and become a skin disease to her man." Mark advised

"You don't tell a babe how to cry, I am about making her learn the hard way just like I learnt." Mike said determined

Rejoice fell deeply for Mike and after a long wait just to get her trust he asked for sex after four months but she strongly and openly disapproved premarital sex and that got Mike a bit frustrated.

"Man shorty disrespects premarital sex and is ready to quit just for that reason" Mike informed his friends later

"Oh she is that type." Mark commented

"Then you fake quit and see her reaction, if she doesn't succumb you go ahead i marrying her just to achieve your goal but if she yields in you just get done with her already."John said

"That's what I thought because if it's for me to accept defeat that will never happen."Mike informed.
He planned to fake quit and see whether she will compromise, and if she does compromise he would be done with her without any papers involved but if she doesn't compromise he would reconcile with her after a short while, marry her, sex the strength and youth out of her, famished her resources before maltreating her and that way she will want out of the marriage and he would be free from her hold eventually. That's the trio's extreme way with a very hard to get girl. He just planned to cripple and tint her for life.

"Man I say snag, bag and ditch her for good" John encouraged

"Yeah?"Mike replied skeptically due to his developing feelings for her and he is doing his best to cease those feelings before its even gain ground.

Mike fake quit and reconciled after a month when she didn't give in. He reconciled with the excuse that he was only testing her to know her strength. His feelings for her grew wildly against his wish during the period of their separation but he fought it in futility but kept it from the knowledge of his friends and still determined to not let his emotions for her rule his mind. He vowed to go through with their plan against all odds after all no woman deserves his love anymore since his experience with his first love.

He started attending Church again but not in his former parish and became partially active in church activities but always sits at the back where he can have a clear view on almost everybody and judge them. He went back to church just to buy Rejoice's trust.

He proposed two months later to her and they got married before their family members and friends three months after their engagement.

"Man treat my Sis well else you will have to face me" Rejoice's brother who was the President of the students body in his varsity warned him on his wedding day before they left but he totally disregarded the boy's advice intent on playing his game to the end.

"You're a good man, just let go of your past and embrace fully the true love before you please." His elder Sister advised him after knowing his first intentions for getting married and he just nodded for acknowledgement sake.
