Third person POV:

He informed them face to face of his repentance, quickly narrating the cause and his decision to discontinue with their initial plan in her life and their reaction was expected.

"I don't know you from today and I will have nothing to do with you again!"
John immediately disclaimed him angrily before telling Mark that he is leaving if he is not. Mark told Mike that he has a right to freedom of choice and as such he can't influence him anymore.

"Do what suits you man" Mark said not too angry like John before deserting Mike without even responding to Mike's apologies. Though Mike didn't have to apologize because truth be told he didn't do them any harm but he did anyways for peace sake.

Mark and John continued to be friends while Mike tried to reconnect with them just to see whether he can help them change their minds on discontinuing in their player's life but John blanked him completely while Mark managed to let him in only to lock him out whenever he started preaching.

Mike was a bit frustrated but kept trying in hopes to win Mark's trust back by the grace of God and he finally succeeded three years later when Mike's and Rejoice's first child Dominion was almost three years old due to the fact that Rejoice took in immediately after their wedding, probably on their wedding night and their second child Glory was just turning a year.
Mark gradually became Mike's friend again.

'qWhat has this player's life done for me other than to waste my time, resources and energy. I mean all I get is wild and sometimes violent intimacies with girls that usually leave me extremely exhausted and I end up spending a good sum of money to replenish my strength, I mean all I get from them is all the same, same hole, same breast, same body entirely that is even annoying me this days, I think I need absolute stability in my life before insanity sets in because I really don't know what good my player's choice has gotten me till now. I really can't continue this way any longer else it will only lead me to total life wastage at the end.
Look at Mike now, he is settled with a loving family living a fulfilled life while I am wasting away here without even knowing, I must end this nonsense before it ends me.' Mark reasoned before he started blocking girls from reaching him and discarding certain of his ownership that can tempt him back to his player's life.
He started attending Church and became serious at it, he conversed to God and his bishop, prayed to God for forgiveness and after counseling, he got baptised and prayed for God's direction.
He fell for a sister in his Ward name Rose and they got married seven months later.
He fathered a boy and a girl four years after and he lived gratefully to God.

All their efforts to reach out to John proofed futile until they learnt of his illness and almost dying, he called for them and they went.

John contacted HIV and realized it late, he refused to take treatment believing that it's useless, he preferred to die than live with HIV. He refused to forgive or forget ever being hurt by his first love believing that the only thing that can make him forgive and probably forget about her ever hurting him is if they reunite and he refused to confess Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and saviour still believing that he let him lose her. When he learnt that his said first love died some years ago he lost complete hope of ever reuniting with her hence his unquenchable and unchangeable desire to die too. But he reconciled with his friends before dying.

Mike and Mark together with their wives and children plus John's family and friends buried him.
Mark being a Mormon (members of 'The church of Jesus Christ of later day saints') later did baptism of the dead on John's behalf believing that through the baptism John would be safe in the spirit realms as it's his belief as a Mormon, though Mike didn't really believe that as he is a Pentecostal but he hoped it would be so for John's sake.

The succeeding friends stick with each other, together with their family and friends learning and fulfilling God's divine will in their lives.

"To err is human and to forgive is Divine."

To Mike the above means every human errs and if we find it hard to forgive those that err us, we should ask God for help to forgive others of their trespasses.

No matter how hard it's, we should endeavor to forgive others as Christians just as our heavenly father forgives us.

And no artificial thing can buy love especially true love, if you can't revive or retrieve a love/loved one, just let it go because it wasn't meant to stay forever, somethings/person's were not meant to last for life in your life, they must have fulfilled their purpose in your life before leaving and it's left for you to figure out that purpose.

What's really meant for you will stay with you for life example is your body though you might lose a part or two along the way if you're not careful, your spirit, soul and the one that likes you without a or much of a good reason and can die in your stead.

The real yours will last with you for life and in Mike's case, his 'Real Mine' is Rejoice and he got to rejoice for life.
