| 34 - 14 | Eri's Crisis |
"What brings the both of you to my room at this time of day?" Chiyo interrogated, sitting on her office chair. The air trembled at her cane, threateningly abusing the tile floor. Her glare was frightening, and Toshinori was the first to buckle from the pair as he apologized. His sheepish smile did little to ease her frustrations.
"I brought Young Midoriya along. There was something he wanted to tell me, but you did tell me not to delay my check-up." He admitted, parting to let the elderly properly see his protégé.
"Oh, now you know, it didn't seem so when you flexed all willy-nilly earlier." RG huffed, whacking her cane at the non-injured side.
"P-pardon?"
Toshinori winced at the impact, or rather the person that caused the attack, as he sheepishly smiled. The nurse's attention didn't stay long to him as she faced the greenette whose eyes looked to be far away from the room.
"Well dearie, if what you have to say is anything personal, it'll have to wait. This isn't a private place, after all." Chiyo announced as a scrawny hand pulled one of the curtains to reveal Best Jeanist resting in an extra bed.
"Oh," Izuku nodded. Looking around the room with a faint smile. "How did you find an infirmary? I thought this hallway only had bedrooms!" Izuku asked, plopping onto a nearby stool as he watched his mentor receive a needed check-up. It rocked a little, but he quickly regained balance, awaiting her response.
"With a place as grand as this, it's only logical to have an infirmary. Now you raise your shirt, are you going to make an old lady do all the work?" Huffing with a smile, Toshinori complied with little thought.
"Oh,"
--
"THERE'S A GYM!!!!" Tetsutetsu exclaimed, rushing towards the treadmill, where Tenya was currently standing on. His nervous system on high alert, gulping at the toppled toolbox; Hatsume paid no mind to the disorganized tools, bouncing near all the confusing parts of the machinery.
"There!! I fixed the chains, it should be able to work properly! Strange that it was broken in the first place." She muttered loud enough for Tenya to flinch before facing her with a hard gaze.
A 'tsk' fled from the studious boy as he began walking on the moving platform. "And you didn't add anything to it this time?" He interrogat- questioned, his voice becoming dangerously low.
"Nuh-uh!"
"I see..."
--
"Why didn't we see this earlier? Are there more places??" Mina questioned, right behind the twins of UA.
"There are new places being installed as we speak, now that our paperwork has been finished... we can focus on your comfort." Diane grinned, linking arms with the two boys as she dragged them towards several punching bags.
"Come on, Ashido-san! Don't you want to have some fun??" She exclaimed as the pinkette jumped with newfound vigor, blitzing towards the equipment leaving the quirkless assistant in a daze.
"... how fast are you again?"
--
~O~
"Y'know... You guys have been awfully calm compared to RRB, I thought you'd punched All For One in the face by now." Tensei exclaimed as the title passed by.
--
"....What's R-R-B?"
"Oh , it stands for Reaction-Room-Beta." Tensei exclaimed as Kurogiri blinked a dead stare, the mist around him growing as if he was irked by the claim of punching All-
"...Wouldn't Theatre Beta be more appropriate?" He inquired, the mist around him curving into something faintly similar to a question mark ...Or not?
"Yeah, it does!" Toga hummed in agreement.
'But the repetition makes it fun to remember.' Tensei sulked his eyes lingered a bit on the villain before pouting. "I thought it sound cool."
"Brother, sometimes simplicity is better than repetition." Tenya exclaimed exasperated by his elder brother's awful jokes. They were funny and intriguing when he was younger but now he doesn't know where the humor went. Must be a consequence of time-
"Hey I can tell what you're thinking just by looking at your face! I'm not as awful as dad!" Tensei roared from the wheelchair as their father sputtered a rebuttal, his wife chuckling at their antics.
--
Meanwhile, all eyes turned towards the greenette and heroes that were involved in the Raid. Those who were acquainted with the fragile child glanced at one another- curious themselves why they weren't making a commotion.
After all, they have to protect Eri.
"..."
"My... thoughts have cooled down, I believe one of the reasons why Theatre Beta...got destroyed was due to us continuously watching episode after episode without proper breaks, which lead to our emotions going on overdrive as it didn't had time to cool down and... well, relax. The constant strain on our mentality had led us to emotion overload, where we couldn't think properly and only acted on stimuli. I'm sure some of the things we did back then aren't stuff we'd normally do without thought." Izuku explained, as Tensei's lips twisted in thought before smiling.
"Emotion Overload huh, that's one way of looking at it, so because of the breaks, we are able to enjoy this masterpiece even more, huh?"
"We will if you guys stop talking and let us watch the episode already!!" Setsuna grumbled, worried about Eri's fate.
Eri sat down on the couch in the Common Area, alone, waiting for him to come back.
A warp gate appeared behind her.
"Why are we getting a recap? Are they trying to rekindle the fear I felt?!"
"Is Shota still going to nap at a time like this?? Today is the last day for yesterday's recap. He's going to be confused if he suddenly decides to finish it randomly." Kayama sighed as Thirteen patted her shoulder.
"Leave him be, Ectoplasm said he'll be checking up on him."
"Yeah, Nemi! Sho wouldn't sit still if he hears Eri's been taken!"
"Hopefully you meant figuratively." Vald replied sweating a bit at the image of an unhinged Eraserhead.
"But I'm still here..." The girl in question announced.
Immediately sensing something wrong, the little girl jumped off the couch and turned to face what appeared behind her, worry sketched across her face.
"The kid's senses are sharp." Compress admitted watching as her alert face fell into calmness, a tinge of worry in her eyes. Was she worried about her situation?
"She's the granddaughter of the Yakuza. Her senses wouldn't be akin to a regular child in the playground." Chisaki announced. Watching as the masked thief faced him.
"We aren't trained to be dull."
"But were you trained to steal a little girl's blood for experiment?~ I must say, the old man has weird teachings." Compressed snapped, flexing his robotic arm on his cheek. Chisaki's proud face dropped, glaring at the magician for his words. His face was blocked by the mask, but Kai knew there wasn't a smile in sight.
"Leave Pops out of this, you common thief."
"That hurts my pride - but not as much as having no hands."
"..."
But she didn't call for anyone. She didn't yell for help. She didn't run nor back away.
"Eri, my g, you lil pile of snowflakes, don't hurt our hearts anymore and run! Run for the hills~, " Hizashi cried, waving his napkin about like a damsel.
"But I'm okay..."
"Who agrees the moment they touch Eri, we jump them?" Ochaco announced, flexing her arm as an audible crack filled the space. A roar of students followed right after, which sent chills up Spinner's spine.
"High schoolers are scary, man."
"Why are you knowing this now?" Compress huffed, his gaze never breaking against the ex-yakuza.
'Because I was once a shut-in.'
She was about to but she didn't after she saw who it was.
"Who was it?!" Mrs Uraraka yelped, becoming curious by the second.
"Did I scare you? I'm sorry that's not what I was trying to do..." Midoriya scratched the back of his head as he stepped out of the warp gate.
...
"What a relief!" Koda exhaled.
"AAAAHH!!! IMPOSTER!!! - " Pony squealed, rocking the theatre into several divisions. Once again, surprised by what in All Might was happening.
"Is this Toga or Twice??"
"Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it WAS them."
"It can't be me!! I was nowhere near Izuku to get his blood!!" The teen dropout protested, denying the accusing stares. Soon, her savior shielded her, taking the brunt force.
"It's most likely me!! I've practiced with the kid countless times, and I'm sure it's easy to make a convincing Deku. - you can't accuse me without solid proof!"
"ISN'T THAT EXACTLY WHAT YOU DID!!?"
--
"Yo-"
"Thank the Heavens!"
"WHOOO!! Leader never died!!!"
"Doesn't that mean Shigaraki is dead?" Thirteen announced as the kids spun towards her.
"Huh?"
"Just think about it, All For One left the situation that only the one that survives stay at his side. Tomura is too loyal to return, pretending that he killed Midoriya, and he was too enraged to trust anything that Midoriya could say afterward. After all, he did lie first."
"...then?" Pony dragged, not getting where this was heading.
"They'll be fighting to the death, what if like Twice said, Midoriya is using a copy of his quirk to make a fake version and is laying down low to avoid attention as his plans were revealed."
"That's a solid point." Compress agreed as the students' ego inflated, knowing that they were right once again.
Deku wasn't someone who would lose to a mere pawn after all.
...
"So we're going to ignore the murder?" Mineta questioned, quivering from the Hero Killer's gaze.
"Even you?"
"..."
"Okay then..."
'Is this favoritism for being All Might's mentee?!' The midget thought staring at his bushy-haired friend.
"Uhh Mineta? Is something wrong?"
--
"WHAT WERE YOU SAYING BEFORE, MARBLE FACE?!" Tsuburaba yelled, starting the uproar as the students began hurling insults and laughter at the villains.
"But I agreed with the space hero just now... it was a good theory..."
From Monoma's chaotic laughter to the quiet ones silently nodding with little presence, it was plain Deja' vu. Alisha kept silent, watching as the cast repeated the cycle once again. Her gaze floated towards Izuku. Brown irises hidden by her pupil as she focused on a different perspective.
--
The black smog barely hid the barren ground below. Overhead was a crystallization of many colors shining as if it wanted to be touched. Reaching out for the predecessors to hold. Yes, this is the inner core of One For All - the place where all the memories gathered over generations lived.
"That isn't the ninth." En exclaimed, his stature being used to prop the bald-headed ex-hero. He could've moved from his mentor's grasp if they were fully manifested.
"I mean, duh!! I'm just waiting for d*ckface to die already!!"
"Please refrain from vulgarities. The censor buttons work in here as well." Shinomori-san pleaded, clutching the bridge of his nose as if experiencing a migraine.
"Also don't call him that, it feels like you're insulting my face as well because we're brothers." Yoichi admitted as Bruce (I'm probably his distant ancestor or something.) hunched forward in laughter.
A palm stretched over the screen, followed by a boisterous laugh.
"But we know he is alive."
"At this rate, I see it as unlikely. I don't doubt Toshinori's choice... but I have a feeling that this boy will die soon." Nana murmured, eyes flickering ever-so often at the boy who was all but aware.
--
The chaotic atmosphere didn't look like it was going to rest anytime soon. So Diane took up the remote and began the film once again. Playing ignorant as Class 1-A displayed their unwavering trust in the greenette.
"Deku?" Eri looked at him with big worried eyes, moving her fists up and down, "A-Are you okay? Where were you? I-It's been two days and you didn't come to—?" She was cut off by the boy.
"Oh that?" Midoriya reached down her height and whispered, "Well, I was planning a surprise for you."
"Surprise...?" Eri repeated.
The triumphant laughter was snuffed out like a naked candlelight by the wind. The previously victorious casts all swallowed whatever creative insults they could've spewed at the disbelievers.
"..."
"...That doesn't sound like Midoriya." Mirio proclaimed. As the silence plunged into the deep dark, a cold wind clawed at the kids who were just rejoicing.
"The heck?! Toga!!"
"My gut feeling is saying that's not Midoriya."
"ANd why should we listen to your gut?" Hizashi clamored, already turning on the defensive.
Tsu merely stayed silent, being a model film enjoyer and staring at the screen through her tinted glasses. It was difficult to see past her stone face, but the majority of the believers took refuge.
Of course, Midoriya is still alive!!
Yet the silence wasn't broken. Even as they banded together, it simply billowed into a dramatic pause. Waiting, waiting for someone to break. Those with more... animalistic quirks knew something was off.
And only time would reveal what.
Midoriya stood up and nodded, "Mhm. Do you wanna see?" He extended his scarred hand towards the little girl invitingly.
"I don't wanna. Is it too late to say no?" Mineta fretted.
"Um... Okay." Eri said as she placed her small hand on his big ones and held onto it.
"Eri-chan noooo!"
"Quit it with the drama already. You guys are actually starting to frighten Eri!" Kyoka yelled, her voice raising in a threatening manner.
It was scarily familiar to an angry blond.
"Hai!"
Eri sighed in response, her cheeks rising with a tint of pink. It was honestly flattering to see how many people cared for her.
But it was equally exhausting.
--
"Don't Worry, Eri-Chan, I'm Sure You'll Be Safe." Manga affirmed, resting his hand on her silver hair as he ruffled it a bit, a contented emoji popping up as his face.
Eri nodded in agreement, looking at Kai with an unreadable expression.
"They'll need me alive; I know Deku-kun won't do anything to harm me."
"Because that's just how he is?" Ochaco smiled as the lass nodded with a dignified puff, as if to look bigger than how she is.
"So I wouldn't be afraid."
--
"That damn nerd better know what he's doing." Bakugou tsked, it hadn't been long since Kirishima and Racoon eyes moved to sit closer to him, now whispering some not heroic things on what they'll do if Eri gets hurt.
"Then let's go." Midoriya smiled as he led Eri towards the warp gate.
'Shit. Shit. SHITTTTTT!' Hizashi felt his pulse weakening as something within him told him that his head might roll if Aizawa ever sees this. Or it could also be the freaky, strong death grip Nemuri got his wrist in.
Must be the latter.
"Eri-chan, be safe!!"
"I'm right here!!!" Eri exclaimed as Midoriya simply shook his head.
"Leave them be. They wouldn't snap out of it until the episode is over." Izuku stated in resignation. Eri side glanced all the snotty nosed teens some waving paper napkins at the screen as if sending off their child while others had this.. aura as if they were preparing for war.
.
.
.
"They're weird." Eri muttered, looking away.
The red eyed girl took one glance back before stepping into the warp gate right after Midoriya, not leaving his hand.
She was wondering what kind of surprise did Deku have for her?
What kind of surprise took two days of complete disappearance?
"..."
And what was this black-purple misty thing? Deku couldn't control anything like that before, then why now? At least, not that she knew of it.
Guess, her answers lied behind the warp gate.
~O~
Stepping out, still holding onto the green head's hand, Eri looked around to find herself in an unfamiliar place.
"Shiitake."
"Mushrooms?" Koda mumbled, his head tilting to the side confused.
Surrounded with unfamiliar faces. Some faces that told her she made a wrong move. That she might be in some serious danger...
"You did make the wrong move kid- don't worry the adopted son plan failed, so plan adopted daughter!" Twice cooed, his mask looking quite menacing from this point of view, while there were flowers floating awkwardly above his head.
"I'm the failed plan?!" Izuku spluttered pointing at himself with widened eyes.
Eri looked at the two, a faint memory of a woman with hair just like hers and a warm light of a man flashed before her eyes. She looked down lips pursed yet prepared to say something until she was yanked by Nemuri.
"Baby noooooo!" Nemuri wailed hugging her 'niece' while the said girl tried explaining that she was completely fine and safe.
"Nemi- I'm okay!! Stop squeezing me- mph!"
--
"F*CK IT WASN'T MIDORIYA?!" Setsuna grumbled as Rin held his hands over his mouth genuinely invested in the entire ordeal.
"It has to be a twice clone then. So unmanly!!" Tetsutetsu growled, his hands clenching into an anger filled grip. Ignoring whatever were his his hands previously.
--
"That was definitely the wrong move kid and it's coming from me!!" Muscular exclaimed as compress stifled a laugh.
"Trained to not be fooled, eh? I guess losing is actually what you're good at."
"One day you'll be locked up, and I'll be out of that damn prison." Chisaki stated with a full resolve.
"We'll see." He didn't believe him.
There was a blonde high school girl with a knife sitting on a chair, smiling at her. A man that was covered in that black-purple mist thingy? Another man dressed in a black and grey costume, standing beside the girl, he looked funny. A magician — Hado told her all about magicians! A teenage mutant ninja turtle — she didn't know they were real! One of them got so many burns, his skin was somewhat purple, she wondered if they could heal.
"...OMG THAT'S SO CUTE!!!" The teenage girls chorused, with starry eyes. Cupping their cheeks they cooed at her innocence.
"T-teenage...ninja..." Spinner sputtered, his iris nowhere to be seen as Tomura hunched forward in hysteria.
But it was okay! Even if they scared her a little bit, Eri had her hero on her side! She didn't need to fear anything. Deku was there to protect her if they tried anything. Besides, he was the one who brought her here so he wouldn't let anything bad happen to her. So, it was all okay!
"My heart can't stand this..." A parent of some teen stated in the background.
"The fact he brought you to them is already a major red flag Eri!"
"Red flag?" The red-eyed child repeated as the girls of Class 1-A gave her a short lesson on the importance of red, green, and white? flags.
"Well, wasn't that easy..." Another person appeared from behind.
Eri turned around to see a light-blue haired man with pale skin.
Before she could ask Deku what was going on, the light-blue haired man placed his hand on the boy's shoulder and the green head started disintegrating while the lower half of his body started turning to mud. Before Eri had the time to react, her hero was gone. Midoriya was gone, right in front of her eyes...
She felt her heart drop...
"Shiiiiiiiiitake!!!" Mic screamed incredulously.
"AAAAHHHHH!!! It was really a Twice clone!!"
"Eri baby!!"
She was... Alone...
Again...
"I'M INNOCENT OKAY!!! - It was so obvious who the culprit was." Twice shouted flusteredly. While his teenage companion, Toga shook her head unimpressed.
Resting her chin unto her newest, official best friend, Ochaco who grew accustomed to the bipolar adult antics. Stretching her arm as far as she could without leaving the brunette's side her palm patted Jin's shoulder in empathy.
"But I'm really innocent - F*ck them all."
--
Tamaki had successfully blocked Eri from witnessing the "second murder" of his Kohai. She hadn't given much thought when he suddenly spawned infront of her, or how heavy he was breathing for she was too engrossed with the master-class the girls were giving.
"So.. green flags are good people... like Mr. Deku's and Tsu-tan?"
"Yes, kero." The frog heroine smiled at her cuteness, that rivaled her siblings.
"And why are they green flags?"Kendo joined the conversation, pinching Eri's puffed up cheeks.
"Be-because they have green hair! Also they're good people!!" She quickly added.
'Awe she's so cute!!!' Was the unanimous expression from all the highschool girls.
Fear rushed over the little girl as she took a step back, gasping for breath. Her eyes widened as she now stared at her own hand that held onto Midoriya's seconds earlier. She was trembling, tears were brimming in her big red eyes. Her bottom lip was quivering as she struggled to form proper words.
'This is a whiplash...' Tamaki sighed. Sensing the difference in moods from the red eye girl onscreen and physical selves.
Midoriya, who was sitting next to Eri alongside Mirio, gave a strained smile awkwardly laughing as Eri complemented his green hair.
--
Koda, stood up from his seat, eyes slightly red from being too immersed with the screen. Adjusting the theatre glasses, he apologized for the interruption, alerting his friend Shoji before he left.
"I need some fresh air... may not come back. I'll watch the recap if I skip too much." Was all Shoji was able to hear before the shy bean scurried off. Shoji glanced at the exit, noticing Diane walking out as well as Thirteen.
Why...
Why does everyone close to her have to die?
"MIDORIYA IS STILL ALIVE HAVE HOPE LITTLE KID!!" Jin belted, temporarily scaring those near him.
Angsty glares fell at his side before a barrage of plushies were thrown at him.
Of course that yell without context grabbed Eri's attention.
Eri thought... She thought this time no one would have to die. She thought he wouldn't leave her again. She thought she didn't have to be alone anymore. She thought the suffering ended already. She thought she was safe. Then why...?
Her lips pursed together as she looked at the screen. Those who had once successfully distracted her shared nervous glances as they didn't know how to react now that she had seen.
"He-hey Eri?"
She nodded, but her focus didn't leave the screen. Eri peered at her alternative self, and how distraught she must have felt. But weirdly enough she couldn't match her emotions with her counterpart.
Maybe it was because she was just bursting at the brim with laughter and smiles. So the somber and frightened Eri felt strange.
"Did..." her voice trailed watching at her bushy haired hero. "Did Mr. Deku died there?"
"..."
"D-Deku.... N-No please..." Eri tried her best to hold back her tears, her small hands covering her ears.
"Ugh, don't act so emotional. That was just a clone..." Shigaraki rolled his eyes, unfazed by the child's reaction.
"I feel like we grasped that already..."
--
"Ugh I'm feeling sick, anymore close-ups with his face and I'll hurl!" Denki exclaimed with exaggerated movements. Kyoka side-glanced her desk mate before raising her left hand and rubbing circles around his in back in comfort.
Her right hand was occupied over her mouth to keep herself from hurling, as she also agreed. 'Too much crusty close-ups.'
Eri jolted up, her eyebrows furrowed, looking at the villain with big teary eyes. There was a chance that Midoriya was safe!
Unlike previous chapters, there wasn't an unanimous agreement, as the seed of doubt and fear had already planted themselves in their minds. While there were still those who were optimistic to the point that it felt nearly toxic- Some were beginning to think that Midoriya Izuku, Deku had actually died from Tomura's fit of anger.
"..."
"But let's just say, I already killed him. So, don't expect a rescue."
Eri's expression fell again. "Wh-What...?"
"Ouch. That's harsh even for me." Tomura mumbled to himself.
"Shigaraki you're dead to me."
The red-eyed young adult searched around for the voice a palm still over his face as to continue his emo phase. "...and who are you?" the person couldn't respond as they were interrupted by a deafening laugh.
"HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Her face my gosh, I should've done that to someone in real life- that- that face is priceless!" Muscular hollered, receiving countless death glares from those who didn't see the humor in it. The laughter decreased as a red eye stared maliciously at the group of students.
"...Kids should know how to manage their bloodlust, or you'll get pummeled!" He responded, flexing his arm. A taunt. Monoma knew that all too well, but today he felt like pummeling someone in the dirt himself.
Of course to maintain peace, Alisha appeared behind Muscular, eyes bloodshot at the thought of doing more paperwork for another destroyed theatre. In a puff of smoke Muscular had left the theatre for the chapter due to misconduct.
"Sorry guys, but I cannot bear to give another theatre to you, this will be the last one." She warned before bowing herself and leaving in a puff of smoke, probably to go where muscular is...
--
"THERE ARE THINGS THAT YOU DON'T F*CKING SAY TO A CHILD!! THIS IS ONE OF THEM FOR F*CK'S SAKE!" Mitsuki combusted, being held back by Masaru who honestly just didn't want to see the one-sided fight between his wife and a villain.
"I'll punch him, I'll seriously punch him."
Dabi looked at the raising negative points, snickering silently to himself. "Don't worry, I'll laugh to my hearts content at your funeral." He huffed, kneeling over with a distorted grin.
Tomura rightfully scrunched his nose in disgust watching as the cremation user chest heaved unnaturally before staring at the heroes in training with disinterested eyes. "Don't worry, your funeral would be kept for last, 'Boss'."
...
'That still means he can die first...' Himiko thought, wiping the bead of sweat by her cheek.
--
'Jeez, they're acting as if I said that myself. Even I think that's too far, but if I say that now they'll think I'm lying and trying to mock them.'
"Haaah, you all are such an annoyance..."
Now, coming to think of, it all made sense... Why didn't Midoriya come to visit her? Why didn't they hang out with Mirio? Why wasn't anyone talking about him? Why did all the smiles look fake? Why wasn't there that excitement she had before? Why didn't Mirio know anything that happened to him? Why was Mr. Aizawa quieter than usual? Why did Class-1-A look so sad?
It was all because Midoriya wasn't there anymore...
'You have influenced many people my boy...including myself.' Toshinori thought with a bittersweet smile.
And,
Midoriya wasn't there anymore because of these people...
And once she realized that... The fear in her eyes immediately turned to hatred.
"REWIND THOSE VILLIANS!!" Someone shouted from the back, another echoed their words and soon it became a chant.
"REWIND! REWIND! REWIND THOSE F*CKERS!!!"
"Hmmm.... I wonder if her rage will forcefully activate her quirk and rewind someone to the point that they never existed. It would make the heroes have a higher advantage if they want to defeat us. Hopefully it wouldn't be anyone I introduced.." Giran analyzed unaware of the side glares from the ex-yakuza boss.
'What if they want her to be unstable so she can rewind All For One to his prime strength?! Please Mirio-shounen, anyone you have to save Eri before All For One lays his filthy hands on her!!'
--
"Beat them up!!!"
"Blood, for the blood god! RRAAAHHHH!!"
"Ok, ok I think you're going a little too overboard."
"That's not what I'll call little, kero."
--
"Kill them baby rabbit! - No, no violence."
"... she's a bunny now?"
--
"Go GO ERI!!"
"Today violence WILL be the answer!!"
"Pop off Eri!"
"Okay that pun was so obvious but I don't disagree." Kaminari laughed patting his midget comrade.
So much hatred, words couldn't describe.
Eri clenched her fists, tears finally trickling down her eyes.
Eri blinked from the chaos, still shielded by the girls, and even though she was kneeling on the carpet, she noticed two frigid arms shooting into the air like a rocket. A resolute "STOP!" drowning the masses around him. Huffing, Tenya stood up straight with a frustrated glare.
"No matter how engrossed you are, you must distinguish fiction from reality!" A few who simply got swept up by the mood, lowered their fists awkwardly as the villains watched the teen berated the others.
"This is a CHILD, many of you must know the mechanisms of her quirk, so telling her to 'rewind the villains' is nothing different than coercing her to murder!" The weight of his words rested on everyone shoulders as Eri looked up at the blue haired teen in awe.
"So-sorry Iida, erm.. I'm sorry Eri..."
...
Now the studio became silent.
"Tomura, look what you did! She's crying now!" Toga exclaimed, her smile never left anyhow. And Eri hated that.
"So? What do you think, I'm gonna sing her a lullaby or some shit?" Shigaraki said, "Besides if Master wants her alive, she better start accepting the reality of death soon. She's going to see a lot of them."
"But I have seen many deaths before..." Eri muttered. Those around her blinked in confusion before their eyes widened in realization. Swiveling towards the armless adult with frightening glares.
"But that doesn't mean it wouldn't hurt." She added, her eyes unfocused, as if she wasn't present in the room. Hado covered a palm over Eri's eyes, closing her eyes as well and began whispering:
"Don't worry Eri-chan, you'll never be hurt like that anytime soon. I promise." Removing her hands, Eri looked up to see her reassuring smile.
...
'That's not Tomura...' Kurogiri thought, it was just a feeling he had, so he was reluctant to voice them out.
Shigaraki then got down on his knees to get to Eri's eye level. He smirked malevolently, "Especially a hero's death..."
Eri only glared at him. Red angered eyes trying to appear intimidating but the tears weren't helping.
They weren't getting away with this. They were so not getting away with this. She was done acting like it was okay when someone died. She was done standing back against villains. She was done being used to when someone who tried to protect her was taken away. She was done holding back. She was done being helpless to villains like these. She was done being the one powerless. She was done with risking others' lives.
...Go girl!! Was the unified expression of the UA girls- it was almost freaky to look at. Yet their message was only able to get across once they began to synchronize their fist pumps.
"Now follow me. Master's waiting for us... And he doesn't like waiting." Shigaraki stood up and roughly grabbed Eri's arm, keeping a finger out, as he dragged her out of the room despite her struggles and cries.
"SHIITAKE!!!" All Might shouted as Tensei stopped himself from laughing from recalling his mushroom puns.
...
"Is that the word of the day or something?" Komori hummed unable to hide her grin.
Eri's shouts and cries of 'let me go' and 'leave me alone' soon faded away.
The room was silent.
'He has just signed his death certificate.'
--
"Don't touch the lassie you dehydrated old hangnail!!" A bald-headed man grumbled.
"That's my grandson you're calling a dehydrated old hangnail!!"
"Makes you wonder where all the good genes went."
~O~
Back at UA High, in Class-1-A's dormitories.
"Oh a scene change, cool. Right?" Alisha announced as an attempt of positivity.
"How can you just change scenes when Eri is obviously in danger when she's with those child abusers!!"
"I am NOT a child abuser!!!" Tomura quickly defended himself, not wanting to be on the same level as Handless.
"Hmph. As if we'll believe you when you targeted our school countless times!"
"W-well even if you're not can you say the same about All For One?"
...
"... master... uh master has..."
"You cant even deny that statement as furiously as you did before."
"MASTER HAS NEVER ABUSED ME DURING MY CHILDHOOD, I ONLY STUTTERED CAUSE I COULDN'T BELIEVE YOU'D ACCUSED HIM!!!"
Midnight stared incredulously at the young adult before leaning towards her co-workers, Snipe and Hound-dog. "I'm disappointed in myself for thinking that their relationship could have ever been healthy."
"He's too far gone."
"I CAN HEAR YOU!!!"
--
"I'm just saying this because I don't get many lines but are you okay Dabi?" Spinner questioned watching as the villain hunched over once more in laugher, blood slowly dripping from beneath his eyes as a result from clenching it too much.
Shinsou was seen sitting on one of the couches in the Common Area. He looked like he was in deep thought. Passing by the kitchen, Kaminari noticed the purple haired boy and walked up to him.
"Hey... Why are you looking so lost in thoughts?" It was a dumb question and Kaminari knew that. They were just told one of their classmates is dead and they should keep quiet about it — anyone could be looking lost after all that. But the current depressing mood was killing him and he needed a small conversation for a change.
"I was just thinking..." Shinsou began, not looking up at the electric blonde.
Kaminari, on the other hand, didn't actually expect an answer but he was all ears for whatever Shinsou had to say.
"Of course you weren't." Shinsou sighed.
"I told you all about the books, right?" Shinsou asked for confirmation. Kaminari nodded in reply.
"Yeah. What about it?"
"It's just that... There were three books but we only know about two of them... I wonder, who the third book was for? What's its purpose? And why was it different than the others? It could be something really important. We might be missing the whole picture here." Shinsou stated, running a hand through his hair.
"I completely forgot about that book." Kamikiri admitted, as a few of his classmates nodded along.
"I haven't forgotten about that important detail, however I'm still speculating on who it might be- as I have two persons in mind." Nezu exclaimed, unintentionally showing off his intelligence. Yet it didn't feel like a brag. Just facts.
Which it was.
...
"Well we might have an answer to that now," Izuku piped up. He then paused taking in a deep breath, which was a warning sign to everyone that the next few words were going to be paragraphs long.
"Before you ask what do I mean, I'll simply explain- sorry to cut anyone's dialogue short. Everyone that was summoned here, wasn't a coincidence. I became sure of that once we went to RRB or Theatre Beta because we met Girian and Gigantomachia. At first I hadn't thought much of it until they made their appearance in this reaction. After that I began observing everyone: the Pro Heroes that wasn't a staff at UA, the parents and even the villains themselves everyone here was mentioned at least once in the alternate world. So it cannot be someone that isn't in the room and it has to be someone who I'm closely acquainted to, someone I trust to the point that I'll send a third copy, that if I'm thinking on the right line talks about my plans or at least reassure them to not be worried for my death. Although it can just be a dud for anyone that may try to track them down. But there would still have that 66.3% of the other books being intercepted as well... Not that I say it aloud it sounds more embarrassing if I actually got the person wrong so I'll stay quiet however this was just something I pondered on cause it felt too much like a shadowed plot device..."
'Someone Deku trusts... someone more than All Might.... Aunty Inko.' Katsuki thought, completely understanding what the greenette had rambled and although he wouldn't admit it, he had shared similar thoughts about the third book as well.
"I can barely understand what you said but pop off."
"...."
"..guys?"
"Midoriya, I understand that my offer is repetitive, and although you have agreed I feel that its an understatement to your talent. How do you feel about becoming my intern? There are many benefits if you agree not only because I'm the Principal or a Pro Hero but you'll have access to criminal and detective records. It would be far to much of a waste if you use it only in the classroom."
"I-" Midoriya spluttered, far too embarrassed to respond properly after the silence.
"Great! I understand I appear to be overreacting, but you wouldn't understand how difficult it is to produce heroes who thinks before acting or thinks while acting. After your predecessor became a living legend, society was fluctuated by muscle heads."
"Sir isn't that a bit much? I do use my head during fights..." Said muscle head argued, feeling wronged for the statement.
The chimera only shook his head in response, as if denying the claim, before replying. "My words were simply facts. Currently you may be slightly more of a thinker but that is the result of the many years you've had as the number 1 Hero and once the world's number one. But when you was a student at UA I can't say that was the case, you weren't a muscle head... yet. However, you tended to act first and think later which resulted in self sacrificing tendencies."
All Might shrunk from his boisterous posture to something similar to an embarrassed father beneath Izuku's gaze. Pressing his fingers he was about to disagree before he felt something- lets call it Mirai's foresight that told him to stay quiet now before Nezu completely demolishes him.
"...that's correct... to some degree. There were times I observed the situation first before rushing in. Back then society wasn't as peaceful as it is now. Running in with no sense of battle intelligence was just signing your coffin. Sir, I observed the area, and these were questions that ran through my head. Can I fight here easily? Would someone get hurt? Will I destroy anything? Can I lure this villain away? Then I act upon the answer of my thoughts. I acknowledged that my feat has brought in some... heroes but..."
Toshinori continued to clear his name while the studio occupants ate popcorn, once again wondering how old is Nezu if he was once All Might's teacher and vice-versa.
"You know, Shinsou." Kaminari sat down, beside the other boy, "Midoriya's smart and very strategic."
A chorus of agreements followed after his statement.
"That's obvious—!"
"Pft- Shinsou-kun you didn't need to say it like that." Kendo giggled, finding his character break to be hilarious.
"...okay?"
"I know, but what I'm trying to say here is that... If the third book really had the 'whole picture' in it, then Midoriya wouldn't have sent it away from us to an unknown person. Like, you showed us the address and we tried to follow it too! And it was just an old grocery store... Midoriya wouldn't give it to someone completely random if it held more meaning. Maybe that one was just a bluff?" Kaminari said.
"Honestly that makes as much sense as what leader said, but I'm taking Leader's side here." Monoma admitted. Izuku turned towards the blond direction with a wry smile.
"How long are you going to call me that?"
"As long as I want of course! As long as I remind everyone that you're the winning leader they'll remember that I'm the winning lieutenant." Monoma boasted pridefully.
"I see..."
"Of course I'm also saying it because I respect you!" He quickly added.
"Maybe you're right..." Shinsou lowered his head, "But it feels awful that we failed."
It really did feel awful.
"Really awful."
"Regretful even."
"I'd say it was horrible."
"Rather an unfortunate play of events."
"Speaking of events, does anyone remember Kirishima-san's dream? If it was a vision then Midoriya-san is still ali-"
"So awful."
"You can even say it was lamantable."
"Woeful."
"Woe is he~"
"Y-you guys are just saying synonyms for awful!" Momo huffed a response after being interrupted from asking a question.
...
"Sorry Yaomomo..."
~O~
After a few minutes of walking, Eri and Shigaraki arrived at the room where All For One was waiting.
"My child!! We were apart for too long!!" Jin bawled as Spinner sighed at his antics. "Didn't you say you were going to adopt her as a sister?"
"No I said- I'll adopt her as a daughter, keep up or I'll send you to sleep in the dorms area." Jin argued.
"Why are you suddenly so aggressive?"
Twice lifted his shoulders and shook his head as a response."It just feels like I haven't had a smoke in years since arriving here."
During their walk there, Eri's struggles stopped, seeing that she had no way out of this situation for the time being. But she won't let them use her that easily.
"As you should." The Uarakas all announced.
Once the door opened and her eyes fell on the man that was waiting for her — she felt fear. He gave off a completely different aura than Chisaki. His mere presence was making the girl shake in her boots. She felt like he could kill anyone if they tried to—!
No...
Eri mentally slapped herself.
She's going to be strong.
"Girl power!! You're way stronger than the expired boiled potato!!!"
"Pft- Expired potato.." Tamaki snorted at the image, but it was awfully accurate.
She won't give in to fear.
"Never give up!"
"We'll support and save you G! Just hang in there! YEAH?"
"... too loud Mic..." Thirteen mumbled.
"sorry, sorry."
--
"Believe in the me that believes in you!! BELIEVE!!!" A certain pinkhead screamed, the overall mood affecting her enthusiasm a little too much.
"NOT in the EAR Raccon-eyes!!" Katsuki yelled, stretching on the vowels. Mina sheepishly rubbed the nape of her neck.
"Sorry, sorry."
She won't let them hurt anyone.
"You're too late for that but I admire your spirit."
"Todoroki-kun..." Iida mumbled exasperated by his stoic friend.
She will stand up for herself.
"While you're at it rewind it as well. He's past the definition of 'human'."
"Lol, and the AFO slander is back." Tetsutetsu rolled over with laughter as the it in question face the projectionist.
"Shouldn't verbal abuse not be allowed if physical abuse isn't.... of course their words don't phase me but it gets irritating at times."
"I mean... it's entertaining when its the right people being targeting... alright I guess its only fair that hurtful words shouldn't be said..." Alisha begrudgingly complied, quickly turning away- Mei-style as the 'potato' lowered his gaze, faintly understanding that he said something insulting beneath her breath.
"You don't sound so enthusiastic."
"Whatever." The dark skinned girl retorted, rolling her eyes in the process causing a few nearby to laugh at her antics.
"Ah, well isn't this pleasant." All For One started walking towards them. Eri maintained a stern face despite the fear bubbling up in her chest.
"Tomura, do you know what an outstanding power this little one withholds?" All For One turned to the said boy.
"Don't you dare touch her you- AFO!!! (Absolute F*cking Ogre)" A member of Class 1-B growled, soon enough, like a chain reaction- or the obvious shared braincell between the students they enacted a Midoriya and found a loophole to still slander the older Shigaraki.
"Yeah you AFO (A Failure of an Opp.)" Sir Sero joined in, raising his hand to cover the big grin over his face.
"I'm sensing some malice in the air, but I don't dislike it." Toshinori mumbled with a confused smile.
"I've only heard a little from Toga and Twice... But I don't really know about it, Master." Shigaraki replied.
"Allow me to tell you then," All For One turned to Eri with a wicked grin, "She has the power to rewind any living thing's organs, injuries, cells or it's entire existence itself. Powerful and useful, isn't it?"
"It sure is, Master." Shigaraki said, "But do we really need to keep her alive?"
"YES." Echoed throughout the room as nearly everyone disagreed with the ashy adult.
"Well, her power is so strong, the pain might kill her if I tried to take it out of her. So, as long as she complies with me, it won't come to that. A brilliant opportunity for her to realize her true place." All For One said.
"So, Eri wouldn't die as along as she plays along?" Kurio thought aloud before being hushed by Shishida.
"No that will instantly fail. Remember AFO (A Failing Oppressor) can read minds... has a lie detector quirk.. its been so long that I forgot which."
"It's the lie detecting quirk, if he could've read Leader's thoughts, he'd instantly know that Leader was never on his side in the first place." Ibara corrected as the boys nodded in understanding.
"But that even if All For One knows that she's faking it he might keep her alive as she's still complying and will only kill her when she shows signs of resistance." Vlad commented, as Eri's face slightly paled- but she soon shook it off.
"YOU CAN'T JUST TALK ABOUT THESE THINGS WHILE ERI'S STILL HERE!!" Kyoka argued standing from her small pillow fort.
"I won't die." Eri affirmed, a small fire lit beneath her red irises as if the passing conversation was the fuse that was needed for it to ablaze.
"That's the spirit kero."
"I... they still shouldn't say these things towards a child."
"But I'm not an ordinary child, Music sister." Eri responded, warming the tsundere's heart a bit (a lot) as she looked away to avoid showing her melted face.
"I-I'll die b-before helping y-you..." Eri stuttered out. Still trying to keep up a strong face.
"Aw, she's a fighter... Now isn't that adorable?" All For One chuckled, "You may leave now, Tomura. I'll take care of the rest." He said.
"Yes she is- but you shouldn't have her!"
"She's an absolute queen so let her go!!"
"At this rate you all are going to start crying from how angry your faces are... want some tissues?" Kurogiri inquired, holding a tissue box.
"Sniff, n-no..." Toru stuttered, her sleeves crossed over her chest as she sat down like ka slouched cat.
"As you wish, Master." And just with that Shigaraki left the room.
"I don't like you but don't leave the bean with HIM!!!"
"Jeesh, you're more indecisive than Twice." Tomura tsked at the bawling teens.
"Come now, Eri, I'll take you to a place where you can comfortably re-think your decision."
For a moment everything went black.
And the next thing Eri knew she was surrounded by at least a hundred Nomus.
"I-"
How is that 'comfortably re-thinking'?! -was the vivid expression amongst all the experienced heroes in the room. Before their expressions fell as they realized this wasn't anything surprising when thinking about the century old villain.
Yet the presence of those nomus made them stand on guard.. If in reality there were that many nomus and there was a sudden war...
"What an unfortunate predicament." Nezu stated, but even that was an understatement. His eyes wandered to the air, where a loose feather was floating casually, as if the ceiling fans were keeping it afloat.
'I hope the commission completes the investigations before it is too late.'
--
"Leaf boy! I just came back so I have no idea what happened but if you're trying to reenact Jesus resurrection now is a good time!!" Hatsume yelled, her palms spread across the doorframe.
Ibara hunched over in laughter at the sudden Bible reference.
"Maybe he should bargain with Jesus for a second chance at life."
"PFFFTTT-" The vine muse snorted biting her tongue to stop her tears.
"Ibara's going down! Guys stop for a bit." Rin exclaimed hunching over with the teen. Setsuna was at his side, shoulders hunching as well at the sight of her usually composed friend uncontrollably laughing at her inside joke.
--
"Wha-whaaaa?!" Midnight gasped enraged.
"Ew." Rei subconsciously said. Her husband nodding along.
--
"That is not what I'll call comfortable. I guess that's why you were alright with so many life supports..." Shoto mumbled, slightly shocked at the number of Nomus. If there was a war, they might be equal in numbers when thinking of the adequate heroes.
That isn't a good sign.
"Oh how am I supposed to explain this to Aizawa without him going all Godzilla-ballistic in the place yo?!" Yamada yelled as the screen slowly faded to black. Commencing the end of the episode and chapter.

A/N:
At this rate this book would be a yearly update. Let's pray for that to not happen.
I would've updated more last year, but I was focusing on my coursework's and it paid off as out of 7 courses 5 was As with 2 A+s and the rest were Bs.
So I was in such a good mood that I decided to update.
Thank you to those that were commenting on the book as well. It really gave me the push to finish it.
