Chapter 3
Ravens POV:
I woke up freezing...I know its winter and all, but geez...I have fur.
I sat upright and paced so much my pads hurt.
I kept thinking of that one situation...I never meant to do that...not my fault.
I keep thinking though of how smoke now knows where I'm staying. If he was sent here to find me then I might be in danger.
I couldn't stand always living like a piece of prey. I mean...I'm the hare, and the pack is trying to KILL me. Wait! Would they eat me!? I mean I'm basically prey itself and since its winter most prey hibernated. Would they really commit to cannibalism? I mean it's a crazy thought, but I probably caught the last rabbit in the forest.
...the last rabbit...the rabbit that will never see it's family again, never see it's burrow, never have baby bunnies, and never see the light of day again...
When I think about it, this rabbit is just like me. I'll never be able to see my birth mother again...who was the only one who did care about me...I'll never be able to go back to my birth pack because I was banned from it and the home I did find was taken from me because of greed,
And I'll never be able to have my own pups, because who would want to mate with a mistake.
Maybe I was supposed to die that night instead of her. Maybe if I protected them a bit more then I wouldn't be getting hunted.
I couldn't stand the fact that they might come here and murder me, I quickly ran off and kept running through the white forest. I didn't want to be the prey anymore! I wanted to be free. But I can't be because my life is enclosed in a cage.
I ran through a log and and by this time I'm probably halfway across the forest.
I stopped when I saw a small house, it was like a humans but at least as small as me.
I walked toward it, but a big brown dog with floppy ears jumped out of the little house barking viciously.
It couldn't get close enough to bite me because it was tied up to a metal thing. It must be what mother said is a chain.
I growled and backed away but then their was another growl from behind me.
I turned and saw a red, black and white furred animal. I must be a fox. It smelled just like one.
It stood it's ground and quickly came and pounced on me, I fought it under its grasp.
I kicked it a ton and quickly bit it's long lean leg, it fell off me and whimpered. I got up to run but it limped back over fast, and grabbed me by the tail.
I growled at it and started dodging the snaps.
But then I heard footsteps...yes footsteps, not pawsteps, footsteps. I looked around my huge eyes as I looked over and saw a gun.
The bullet came and I toppled over and howled loudly and whimpered.
Smokes POV:
I woke from a dream, a dream about Raven. She's truly a beautiful wolf. It's sad of what she's done to get kicked out from the pack. I wished to always be with her, mostly because I have that soft spot for others.
I didn't like taking her home...mostly because all the drama it would cause.
Right now all of the pack were escorting pups and their mothers to the new home.
According to alpha dust orders we are using the new home as a place for pups and their mothers to stay at.
I found the idea a bit dumb because theirs a lake that the pups can fall in and possibly drown in-depending on how old they are.-
I tried to tell dust that the pups could possibly drown. But noooo, he wants us to keep that land because of the food supply.
I couldn't help feeling disgusted so I trotted back to the old home.
Catty followed me, her elegant grey and white fur blowing in the wind.
Catty is my sister and is a bit of a diva.
"What's wrong with you?" She snarled.
At this point I couldn't stand her.
"Your breath...it smells like cr--"
She looked embarrassed and quickly spit a come back,
"So? You give our prey to rogues!"
Everyone gasped and I was furious,
"Whatre you talking about!"
"Oh....how you brought a rabbit to that loser Raven."
"I never did such a thing you scrawny piece of-"
"Silence!" Dust yelled before I could diss catty.
"Mutt sister..." I muttered so low no one could hear.
Dust sighed as Carla came to his side. No matter what I don't think ill get used to Carla...Carla isn't anything like Auburn.
Auburn was dust old mate, AKA Bravery and Ravens real mother.
It's a hard subject for everyone to speak of. I bet it's an even harder subject for raven to think of since she has no one to talk to.
Dust had said that if lies keep being thrown around about me- because wolves always make rumors about me- then he would start giving out punishments for them and even me.
I decided to go hunting once I heard the leaves rustle.
I trotted around the forest and hunted down a squirrel. I decided to trot to Ravens new home.
Once I got there it was empty and very hollow. No raven, just an eaten rabbit near the pond.
I saw something walk behind the trees, I could tell it wasn't Raven, it was a bright ginger.
I crawled into a log that had a high scent of Raven and watched the fox stop and sniff the air and then started running like it was hunting something.
I never faced a fox before, only humans and dogs.
I sat there for awhile, the squirrel still in my jaw, I was quiet, I was afraid to come out incase their were more and they attacked.
I waited but then I heard loud barking a bit far away, I stayed put and didn't move one inch.
I then heard a loud gunshot that made all the crows nearby fly away.
I then heard the most fearful thing, I heard a howl that was a call of help.
"Raven!" I cried as I ran to the distressed howl.
What on earth?
Is raven okay?! Tell me what you guys think.
