As I explained in another rant, I am religious. Catholic, to be exact.

Now here's what annoys me:

Everyone IMMEDIATELY assumes we are all homophobic. That's not true! Just because one person who was that kind of religion was a homophobe, doesn't mean we all are!

The way I was raised, it wasn't like: YOU MUST HATE ANYONE WHO ISNT STRAIGHT AND GET ALL UP IN THEIR FACE IF THEY ARE NOT THE SAME RELIGION!!!!

It was really like: respect God, try to be pretty good, and love people for who they are.

Now, something isn't very fair: all the non-religious people are all like: OMG GET YOUR GROSS RELIGIOUS STUFF AWAY FROM ME!!!! And constantly insult my beliefs.

Yet when I say something I believe, not even POINTED at them, and they get ABSOLUTELY TRIGGERED!!!!

And if I try to defend myself and my beliefs, all I am is shunned. Consider my social life over. Because I have a religion.

Now, we all believe things. We believe in our own opinions, beliefs, traditions, etc. We defend what we believe in, because we believe in them. We may be scientifically wrong, but we still defend them.

One of my beliefs has been insulted. Do you expect me to take this lying down?!?! No!! I'm going to defend it, and then people scream at me to leave them alone and to get my religious **** out of their life.

I WASNT INSULTING YOU!!!!! I WASNT TRYING TO INSULT YOU!!! CLAM DOWN!!! STOP AND LAUGH AT MY SPELLING ERROR THAT I LEFT EXACTLY FOR THIS REASON!!

You have your beliefs, and I have mine. I know there have been many jerky Christians and Catholics, but most of us are not. In fact, we are basically forced to hide the fact that we are religious or face totally triggered people that we didn't mean to offend.

So next time, stop. Think about it. As this "religious ****" really pointed at you? If not, no need to get completely triggered. If so, no need to do it then, either!

Maybe someone gave you a bible verse. They thought it would be nice. And now you're all up in their face, screaming at them in all caps that your not religious and that person couldn't make you.

Again, there have been some jerky religious people in the past. Most of us try not to be like that. I know I don't, and several of my Christian friends don't.

But in the end, no matter what we believe, t doesn't matter. You may be non-religious. My crush is Jewish. I am Catholic. For heavens sake, you could still worship all those Greek gods and goddesses for all I care!

But we are all still people, aren't we?
