Grumpy Bear Meets Sebastian

•The Vibe
*Grumpy Bear*
Emotionally transparent
No patience for nonsense
Protective in a very “I will sit on you until you feel better” way
Instantly suspicious of anything that smiles too much
Reads Sebastian as “danger wrapped in manners”

*Sebastian Michaelis*
Impeccably polite
Mildly amused by everything
Finds Grumpy Bear fascinating in a “how is this creature still alive and pure?” way
Can tell Grumpy is powerful in a different sense—emotional, moral, uncorruptible
Knows better than to mock him outright (but is definitely tempted)

Dynamics:
Grumpy Bear does not fall for charm
Sebastian cannot manipulate Grumpy Bear emotionally
Mutual respect forms… begrudgingly
Sebastian treats Grumpy like a tiny, fuzzy eldritch judge
Grumpy Bear is 100% ready to throw paws if Sebastian hurts a kid
How the Meeting Goes (Oneshot)
Grumpy Bear crossed his arms, cloud emblem darkened into a stormy scowl.
“I don’t like you.”
Sebastian Michaelis inclined his head, perfectly composed.
“That is most unfortunate. I had hoped my manners might at least earn neutrality.”
Grumpy squinted up at him. “You smile like you’re lying.”
Sebastian’s crimson eyes gleamed faintly.
“An astute observation.”
That did not help his case.
Grumpy Bear hopped down from the arm of the couch and planted himself squarely in front of Sebastian, paws on his hips.
“You eat souls.”
“I collect them,” Sebastian corrected smoothly. “Only those who willingly enter contracts.”
Grumpy Bear jabbed a paw at his chest. “Still gross.”
A pause.
Then—Sebastian laughed. Not loud. Not cruel. Just… genuinely amused.
“How refreshing,” he said. “Most beings fear me. You merely disapprove.”
Grumpy Bear’s scowl deepened. “Fear doesn’t fix bad behavior.”
Something unreadable flickered across Sebastian’s face.
“And what would you do,” he asked mildly, “if I were to misbehave?”
Grumpy Bear didn’t raise his voice. He didn’t threaten.
He simply said, “I’d make you feel really bad about it.”
Sebastian stared.
For the first time in a long while, the demon butler felt something dangerously close to unease.
“…I see,” he said softly.
Grumpy Bear climbed back onto the couch, arms crossed again.
“You can stay,” he added. “But if you hurt a kid, I’m telling everyone you’re a jerk.”
Sebastian bowed, flawless and sincere.
“I assure you,” he said, “I would rather face holy water than your disappointment.”
Grumpy Bear huffed.
“Good.”

Why This Works Emotionally
This meeting hits that comfort-to-comfort crossover perfectly because:
Grumpy Bear represents emotional safety and boundaries
Sebastian represents danger, control, and adulthood complexity
Grumpy doesn’t fix Sebastian—but he limits him
Sebastian respects Grumpy not for power, but for moral clarity
It’s childhood saying to adulthood:
“You can be complicated, but don’t forget kindness.”
