Villainous: Shadow and Fire

Everyone remembers the story of the last unicorn — how she shed her immortal form to walk among men, how she defied the Red Bull, and how she saved her kind. But that tale was never meant to end in light.

When the magician’s spell gave her human flesh, something ancient and forbidden awakened. For the first time, the immortal creature felt — fear, love, loss. And when she became a unicorn again, the purity of her soul was forever scarred by the memory of mortality.

She tried to return to her kind, but they sensed it — the taint of man, and worse still, the shadow of the Bull’s fire. They turned from her, whispering that she was no longer one of them.

And so Amalthea fled. The child growing within her was proof of her fall, and the magic within her churned with rage and sorrow. Alone, she wept — until the tears burned black and the sky wept with her.

From those ashes rose something new — a unicorn no longer of light, but of shadow and flame. Her mane shimmered like embers, her horn bled with power. She built herself a fortress of obsidian and fire, a mirror to Haggard’s tower but darker, grander, crueler.

Now she rules as the Dark Unicorn Queen, collecting all creatures of magic — fae, dragons, spirits, and unicorns alike — trapping them within her flaming halls. “You hid from men,” she says, “while I became what they feared.”

Her prince and her companions, once beloved, now kneel before her throne, prisoners of her wrath. Love, once her downfall, has become her weapon.

And so the last unicorn became the first dark god, her heart a burning star — the vengeance of all magic scorned.
