Wowaka.

(I'm Terribly Sorry For My Amount Of Inactivity On Here, I Have A Lot Of School And Homework To Do, And I Announced That I Would Take A Lengthly Hiatus From Writing.  But, Today Is A Special Day, In Accordance To A Musician That I Hold Dear To My Heart, So I Decided To Write Something For Today.)

November 4th, 1987.

The Music Legend Himself Was Born This Very Day.

Sadly, I Didn't Have The Time To Finish My Art Planned Out For Today, But I'm Going To Be Commemorating Him And His Life Through This Journal, With A Letter Of Thanks.

Dear Wowaka,

If you are reading this right now, wherever you may be, I'm not sure where your spirit lies and roams, but I hope it will find this...

...Thank you.

Thank you so much for that one fateful day where my good friend at school showed me "Rolling Girl" for the first time.

Thank you so much for having "Rolling Girl" be the very song that got me into VOCALOID music, and VOCALOIDs in general.

Thank you so much for your other amazing, original, all-creative works, such as "Unhappy Refrain", "Two-Sided Lovers", "World's End Dancehall", "Unknown Mother Goose", "Out Of Step", And "Toosenbo".

Thank you so much for your time with hitorie, and bringing us amazing J-Rock songs such as "One Me Two Hearts", "Antithesis Junk-Girl", "Little Cry Baby", "SLEEPWALK", "Coyote And Ghost", "Absolute", "Kara No Waremono", "Fuyu-No", "imperfection", "[W]Here", and not to mention the band's jaw-dropping colors of your VOCALOID songs.

Thank you. So much. For saving my life. Back in 7th Grade, I fell into a terrible depression. It was like my world turned against me. Everyone I knew and loved hated me for who I was. Everyone I thought were friends that I met online were now my worst enemies, and toxic ones at that. I wanted to just end my life there. I was done. I started to plan out how I was going to end my life, but the next day, I walked back from class and into my room, and the song "Rolling Girl" was on the front of my Youtube Page. No surprise, I was listening to it non-stop for the past few days, so I decided to listen to it again. But this time, I sang along to the song. I sang, and sang, and sang, and the song hit me differently. I felt a pain in my heart, a pain unlike any other. A grief derived pain. A sorrow derived pain. A depression derived pain. And so, while listening to "Rolling Girl" for probably the hundredth time, for the first time, I cried. I cried a river of tears, no, a lake, no, an ocean. I cried because I finally knew. I finally related to the girl in the narrative of this song. I finally knew what it was like to "try and stop breathing", "have your head spin over and over again", and "muttering 'I'm fine', but those words fail me".

But there was one line.

One line within that very song.

That helped me keep my will to live.

"もう一回."

One More Time.

It may seem like only three words to you, but this line meant the world to me.

And it still does.

Why?

No matter what comes your way, you must be willing to go One More Time.

No matter who knocks you down a rung, you must be willing to climb back up One More Time.

No matter whatever the hell life throws at you, you must me willing to fight through the pain One More Time.

And that's why that line means so much to me.

I was ready to end myself, but no.

I realized...

I still had a life ahead of me.

A future to hold.

My unique, beautiful future.

And so, I rose above my depression.

Because I was ready to roll through whatever life throws at me.

One More Time.

Thank you, Wowaka. For everything. I hope that you are resting peacefully now, with your family and close friends being off just fine. I know your spirit will be watching over them, and I hope that you now realize that your "Unknown Mother Goose" was told, by so many people around the world. You have touched the hearts and souls of so many people, and saved the lives of so many more, including myself. Thank you, Wowaka. Once again. For everything.
