Clichès (wait, isn't this a clichè rant? Don't you see everybody writing about this?) SHUT UP INNER SELF! *nervous laughter* okie... Back on topic. Let's cut to the chase. In going to make some statements that go against many clichès I see on here.

Not all boys are ripped and hot.
The male protagonist doesn't need to have supernatural abilities.
Blonde girls aren't always popular.
Not all gamers are boys.
Girls don't always need to have a hot boyfriend.
Not all couples have to have fights, or relationship conflict.
You do not need 2 pages of song lyrics in your book.
A nerd doesn't need to fall for a jock to have an interesting book.
The protagonist, male or female, does not have to rebel against their parents.
Speaking of which, parents exist in teen fiction! If it's realistic in some ways, they should have a parent or guardian!
Blonde girls aren't always dumb and/or beautiful.
Brunettes can be popular, too.
Just because someone is of an Asian descent, they don't have to be genius, don't be racist (be a panda 🐼)
Just because the main person is attractive, doesn't mean they have to think they are ugly.
If your character is "average", then they probably don't live in a 3 story mansion.
One Direction can not adopt every single fan. Neither can Team Crafted.

I could go on and on. Even some people whose stories have a touch of uniqueness, they usually have a clichè or stereotypical aspect, which sometimes, the key word there being sometimes, I don't mind. But, the point is, be crèatif (I'm learning French XD, but if you're not, you can probably figure out what that means). If you can't find an idea, take a break from writing, and take a shower.
