Breakdown

Totola - a woman small in stature but not in heart or soul, or even will, its big cousin, had to face a challenge quite great: to eviscerate the world's longest structure; Kreel Doxilam.

The constructed marvel rested in the landlocked nation of Berringworth. To the southern and eastern borders were the Pertola and Seminelli mountain ranges. The Twin Deformities, Twisted Peaks, and the blights of Eastern Sunder were more famed titles of these terrestrial scapes in a world of mystery and hardship.

Splitting out violently from one deformity was Pertola, a massive, powerful river with bounties of aquatic life and trees with sturdy branches and trunks—signs of autumn—at the banks of the watercourse. It hugged the western region, the foundation of the western border. The only breathing room it got was the Reginalt Sea to the north, not the grander Hewly Ocean of supreme and everlasting blue, occasionally stirring up waves to land and retreat over golden-flaked beachfront.

The countryside held quaint villages comprising grey domes. They were cheap, practical, and resilient. For most of Berringworth, flora and fauna reigned. Citizens were sparse and lived in the lower section of the country. In the centre was Kreel Doxilam. It was in its own little space, with multiple connections through bridges to access it. The angular windows were many; as such the entrances. Multiple coatings strengthened an already formidable building. The interior was spotless, except for a couple of rooms and passageways. Totola, with her busty frame, green eyes and fair skin, was bathed from the rear with the gentle, widespread scarlet glow of the gap separating Kreel Doxilam from the rest of the land. Facing her was the great structure, and coiled around her was her armoured millipede. The vivid cerulean blue terazen plating was meticulously attached to every part of the exoskeleton, minus its one hundred and twenty-eight legs.

There were no guards, nor tanks, nor VOTLs (Vertical Takeoff and Landing Vehicles), nor quadcopters or octocopters as hindrances... Only them and Kreel Doxilam nestled on top a sizable patch of land supported by a pillar of the same rock.

Noxilum, the millipede with instant regeneration, let off a gauntlet of legs with no hesitation. The sharp tips did little, only slight cracks on the outer layer. Totola wanted to curse and compliment the building, but did neither. They could once they completed the mission. The armoured millipede then tried the thin, jagged pincers at its mouth. A few bites wore them out quickly with no further damage. Its legs and body twisted in frustration worse than the anger bursting from Totola. Kreel is truly a nuisance, and to rid it once and for all, something greater was needed. Noxilum's end curled forward and touched its front, becoming a wheel. And this wheel was more than enough.

Like a steamroller, Kreel was flattened by the speed and power of Noxilum. It had to repeat this several times due to the overall size and length of the target. While finishing up the few remains, Noxilam got carried away and almost fell off. Good thing awareness saved it from being a chunky, violet splatter.

Unfortunately, Noxilum did all the work. Totola just directed it so that it wouldn't fall into the gap - which she failed - but that doesn't matter. What mattered was the destruction, obliteration, annihilation of Kreel Doxilum. And without a doubt in Berringworth, Dipthalia, Ruggermore or anywhere else, this simple mission can be given the seal of completion.

This allowed her to return to the underbelly of Nobbles National Park, an area of sand dunes, cacti and tumbleweed. Here resided a secret base many kilometres in size. Taking advantage of an expansive cave system, the World Threat Mitigation & Eradication Agency used it as an ideal place to construct a facility. This was one of a dozen located around the planet - all hidden in the most unreachable or mundane of environments.

With threats of all kinds running rampant, Totola was as relaxed as ever. As for her millipede, it was having a nap after playing fetch for about five hours. She felt great this organisation was desperate to have a Destruction Ops Specialist like her. She hoped they would drop the twenty-three cases against her if she and others like her can save the world.

Totola made the most of her opportunity while in the main building of the base, even though the word 'city' would be a more apt term. She was currently seated on a W.T.M.E.A. agent for comfort. His broad back was perfect for her to rest her buttocks on, and his sturdy-looking appendages seemed good enough to hold her up while he bends on all fours.

While she basked in shoulder massages and grape feeding, the Prime Minister of Ruggermore, Papsswik Alderman, had just exited the elevator to the taxpayer-funded grow rooms, briefing area, a weapons cache, medical bay, water filtration systems and sleeping complexes that filled the space.

He entered a black humvee waiting for him, where a man in shades drove him to the Divisional Office #7 for the W.T.M.E.A. It was several connected cylinders of white and silver with multiple rows of windows encircling them to let in artificial light produced by fixtures attached to the cavern roof. The interior of each was padded with stiff white foam, similar to the materials being already created and used in the construction of experimental spaceships in the hope to fly people off-world.

Once he arrived, two men guided him to Totola and her millipede to the gym on the ground floor, but what awaited him was far from a surprise.

As he had her in his vision, the balding leader adorned with baggy eyes, wrinkles, a tuxedo his wife picked out for him, and a sash with the colours of his country: burgundy, yellow and blue, kneeled and bowed before her. She was one of their most successful operatives. For her to leave would be a detriment. The Eleven Exceptional Threats had taken the lives of so many agents of the W.T.M.E.A, making them dependent on less altruistic sources to pull humanity from the spiralling crisis.

"Rise, peasant."

"Yes, my lady," He said with a tear. "Are you more cheerful today?" He recalled how she was moody the last time she met her. She expressed her desire to quit, prompting him to take more 'urgent action' to make her stay.

"Eh... I wouldn't say that. That mission stressed me out. Had to do well to slip through the Berringworth Border Patrol to destroy that building."

"Well, that is why you are the best, my lady." He noticed a wooden stool with a ceramic bowl of seedless grapes right beside Totola.

"Do you love the grapes we've picked for you? They're normally used for the production of wine, but we handpicked from our vineyards just for you."

"They taste great. But I think I chewed on a seed or two."

"I'm sorry to hear that. We'll do better next time so that your eating experience will be more pleasurable." His men were all thinking that same thought of how could he could let this girl walk all over him. Maybe he's a cuck or a beta male. They were puzzled.

"Don't worry. You can make it up to me by being my new footrest." She flung off her shoes and wiggled her toes in anticipation. She held off her foot massage until now for this.

Is she serious? Well, if she desires it... I just hope my wife doesn't find out I'm such a loser.

What a loser. Every agent rattled off the same line. It was as if they all had a telepathic link.

At that moment, everyone received a distress signal through their wristwatches. The source was from the agriculturally dependent nation of Vallos.

"It looks like I'm needed." She sighed in disappointment that her footrest and foot rub would have to wait.

She got up and left the room of thousand-kilo dumbells, hundred-mile treadmills and ultra resistance ellipticals to go deal with the cry for help. If it's a distress signal, then it had to be serious.

A supersonic fighter jet flew Totola and Noxilum into Vallos's air space. Despite the laden fields of wheat, millet, barley and corn, they were filled with the fear-filled frenzy of farmworkers and other citizens getting to safety. The turmoil taking place and the lack of information regarding the danger they will face certainly got them tense. However, they felt they were mentally and physically ready for anything... except for being blasted out of the sky by a floating metal squid.

They didn't have time to take in its features; it affected a long-range pulse ray before Totola or anyone else could interfere with its mission.

The landing was rough. The aluminium hull carved a ditch through the dirt, ruining a field of sweet potato at around thirty metres long.

The mysterious craft plucked the Reverence Boulder, an item of major importance, with one of its four-pronged steel tentacles and rocketed off.

Totola and Noxilum were both rendered bloodied and unconscious. They, with the pilot, were some of many defeated.

From today onwards, a new faction made itself known to the world. Their objective - to collect the Eleven Exceptional Threats to bring the human race to an end.
