Chapter Five

After dinner, we all went to our dorms. I was glad that the medicine was working but I had a bad feeling for some reason. I tried to brush it off but the thought came running into my head every time I had my gaurd down. Everything was going too well. I decided to call my mom to ask for the doctor's number then I called him.

"Hello, this is the Medical Unit. State your emergency." A voice on the other line said.

"Um, can I talk to Dr. Shijiou?" I asked nervously. I wasn't used to talking to people who I didn't know on the phone but it wouldn't be manly if I just asked my mom to call him and I would be putting my worries on her, which like I said, wouldn't be manly.

"Yes you may. One second." I heard yelling on the other line before a new voice spoke.

"This is Dr. Shijiou. Who is this?"

"I'm uhh, I'm Eijirou Kirishima. I was asking about the medicine." I told him.

"Ah, yes. You're the Hanahaki patient. What type of conserns do you have?"

"Well, I just found it a bit unusual that after three days of taking it that Hanahaki just disappeared. I knew that the medicine was supposed to help but I just didn't know that it was going to work this well." Suddenly, I thought that calling him was silly. Patients were probably dying and here I was, wasting his time, asking pointless questions.

"The medicine doesn't make it go away. It makes the Hanahaki disease stop making you cough up petals but the flower is still growing. You take the medicine to control the petals." He informed me.

I was silent for a moment. "Oh. Is it bad that the flower is still there?"

"Well, it's different for every patient but most of the time, the flower can get deadly." He told me like it was a normal thing to say.

  I gulped. "Deadly?"

"Yep. The flower has vines and most od those vines have thorns. The thorns can scratch up important things on the inside of the body. You can get surgery to remove it but you can never love again." His voice went dark for a second. I was stunned into silence. "Are you still there?"

"Oh, umm, yea. I'm still here." I blinked as I proccesed what he said.

  "Was that all?"

I nodded before realizing that he couldn't see my head. "Y-yea. That was all. Thank you."

"You're welcome. Have a good night!" He sounded cheerful then he hung up. I sat down on my bed and stared at the floor. Deadly? Is surgery the only way to get rid of it? I don't want the surgery. It might come back and I'll have to just keep getting put under the knife. I could tell him? No. It isn't manly to like a guy anyways. He would call me weird. He already hates me for that kiss yesterday then the closet. Ugh, I hate this.

I buried my face in my hands. Tomorrow is Sunday. Sunday's are lazy days. Maybe that'll get my mind off of things. I looked at my phone for the time. 8:59. I guess I can go to sleep.

I laid down and closed my eyes, memories of that day flew around in my head. It made me happy to be distracted by good memories than to think about the disease. Soon, I fell asleep.

----------------

When I opened my eyes, I heard banging on my door. I groaned. "Come in." The door opened and someone walked in.

"Wanna go ride scooters with the squad?" Ashido asked me.

"Sure, just let me wake up and get ready." I sat up and shooed her out of the room before looking for a good outfit to wear. I decided to wear my new pink shirt with the new shorts I got. I was too lazy to style my hair so I just put a hat on and called it a day.

I grabbed my scooter and sunglasses before walking out of the room. "Let's go Ashido." I walked to the elevator and with every passing second, I was becoming more and more excited about going around with everyone. She hurried into the elavator with me and closed the door.

When it arrived on in the common area, I decided that since we were close to the kitchen I could grab some breakfast. I walked in and found granola bars. I grabbed around seven and walked back to Ashido. "I had to get breakfast." I smiled and started munching on one.

"Did you wake up when I knocked on your door?" She asked me. I nodded, unable to speak because my mouth was full of chocolate chip granola bars. She laughed. "Dude, it's like 12:50. What time did you fall asleep?"

"I dunno, around 9:00 or something." I covered my mouth so she didn't have to see anything and shrugged. She laughed and shook her head before walking outside where everyone else was.

"He was sleeping." Ashido pointed to me.

I finished the first granola bar and put my hand on my chest offensively even though I was playing around. "How dare." I could barely hold back a smile. We all bursted out laughing.

"Let's roll." Sero put his sunglasses on dramatically and we all rode magectically out of the parking lot.

We tried to stay together but the sidewalk was narrow, only allowing two people at a time and it was awkward when a stranger had to walk passed five teenagers riding on scooters made for 10 year olds. Sero rode next to Ashido and I rode next to Bakugo. Kaminari brought up the end.

"Why are you wearing a hat?" Bakugo asked halfway to the park.

"Because I was too lazy to style it." I answered.

"I thought that you just used your quirk." Bakugo replied.

I laughed. "No, my hair wouldn't be soft then and it would be a little uncomfortable to be using my quirk all day just for my hair."

"Oh." Bakugo studied my hat and hair for a little bit more before looking in front of him, his face was tinted pink.

I chuckled and paid attention to ahead.

"Guys, you're leaving me behind!" Kaminari yelled, coming closer to us with his scooter.

"Kaminari, slow down!" I yelled back but he was coming too fast. He was right behind Bakugo so I did what everyone would to if their best friend was accidentally charging for thier crush; I pushed Bakugo into the grass.

"Dude! What the heck?!" Bakugo growled.

At that moment, Kaminari ran straight into Bakugo's scooter, causing it to move forward.

"I was saving you from a crash." I replied.

"Yea yea, I see that now." He hissed. I laughed and reached out my hand to help him up. He stared at it, as if he was deciding to take it or leave it. He put his hand on mine and my smile widened. I yanked him up and he obviously wasn't expecting it. I fell this time but I took Bakugo with me. "Kirishima, if you keep knocking me over like this I'll just scoot next to Kaminari." He said in a half joking tone.

I smiled and actually helped him up this time. "Nooo, don't leave me."

"Don't act like Deku and I will." He smiled a little and we all continued to scoot to the park.

----------------

When we arrived finally, we stayed together. Sero taped all of our scooters to one bike rack thing by the necks. Nobody would be stealing them.

Ashido booked it towards the equipment. The rest of us followed in her wake. We decided to let our true kid show. Sero hung upside down on the monkey bars but he was able to touch thw ground with his finger tips. We chuckled. He was the tallest out of us five. The rest of us were able to hang upside down without touching the tiny pebbles.

Ashido jumped down. "I'm going to go down the slide!" She ran and we all followed. It was a tall metal slide. She climbed up it.

"Are you sure you want to go on a metal slide? On a hot day? With shorts?" Sero asked her.

She shot him a determined glare. "I've never been more sure." She looked down the slide and took in a deep breath before sliding down. She screamed the entire time, even though it wasn't long it still hurt my ears.

"Hey, about you keep the screaming to a minimal?" Bakugo asked her. "This is how a real man does it." He climbed up and sat on the slide bwfore pushing himself down as fast as he could. He ended up flying off of the slide at the very end and landed near a sidewalk that went around the park. Bakugo stood up amd grumbed something angrily.

"Wow, nice. Next time maybe to it without making yourself be propelled off of the slide and faceplant." Ashido smiled.

"Shut it pinky." Bakugo stood up and walked back to the monkey bars.

Sero started to follow but I knew that it wasn't to end well so I put my hand on his shoulder. "Let him restore his pride man." I smiled and looked at Bakugo.

"Okay." Sero walked away. I couldn't help but look at Bakugo as he sulked upside down on the monkey bars. He'll be fine... I suddenly found the best part of any playground.

"Guys, look what I found." A smile spread across my lips and I pointed to an old merry-go-round. Everyone, even Bakugo, ran over to test it.

"Get on idiots." Bakugo smirked evily. "I'll push everyone." We were a little scared but we thought that we could trust him.

We were wrong. Bakugo spun the merry-go-round so fast, Kaminari fell off. The ones who remainsd were holding on with our lives. "Kaminari nooo!" Sero reached his hand out.

"I'm picking off the weak!" Bakugo yelled and the next thing I knew, Sero went flying. It was just Ashido and I. I decided to take one for the team and let go. I used my quirk so it would hurt less. I fell near Bakugo's feet. Ashido was the only one left. Bakugo stopped spinning it and looked at her. "Congratulations. You're the strongest one out of you, Tape Man, Pikachu and Kirishima."

"How come you said his name?" Ashido asked.

"Because Kirishima's name is the only one I can remember!" Bakugo defended himself.

  "Sure." Ashido smirked.

"Guys, I'm hungry, who wants to go home for lunch?" Sero asked us. Everyone was hungry except for me but I didn't argue. "Race ya to the scooters!" Sero bolted towards the scooters, the rest of us following him.

Bakugo was suddenly in the lead and he touched the rack first. Sero was next then me, Ashido and Kaminari. We were all smiling and laughing except for Bakugo. He was trying to hide his smile. "Release our scooters, elbows." Bakugo ordered. Sero did as Bakugo said and we rode back to the dorms with our sunglasses.

----------------

When we finally got back, Sero, Bakugo, Ashido, and Kaminari were complaining about food. I wasn't that hungry.

When we walked into the kitchen, we decided to make a meal together.

"What should we make?" Ashido asked.

"I want to be the only one cooking." Bakugo muttered.

"Well, it'll be better if we all work together." I put my arm around Bakugo and smiled.

"Fine. But you four will listen to me! I probably have more experience in cooking than any of you idiots." Bakugo grabbed three aprons and tossed two to me and Ashido. "Pikachu and Tape Arms, get your own aprons."

"Don't worry, I have a few extra. Sero, you can take mine." I handed him the apron that I was using.

"You have your own aprons?" Sero asked me while I walked to the elavator.

"Yep, I think that cooking is a manly hobby to practice." I pushed the fourth floor and waited for a little before the doors opened. I walked to my dorm and started to rummage through my things when I heard someone's voice.

"How are you able to control Hanahaki so well?"
