Will never really liked people. 

That is probably the simplest way to put it. Never had many friends in school but he got AMAZING grades. He was top of all his classes every year. For that, he got bullied. He did have a few people to confide in. Max Mayfield was one of them. A passionate friend who couldn't give a shit about what you thought. Confident, sassy, protective and not someone to mess with. Everything Will Byers wasn't.  Will and Max were supposed to be meeting at Starcourt Mall half an hour ago but the brilliant red-head was nowhere to be found. 

Will leaned against the concrete pillar outside Scoops Ahoy, searching the crowds for his friend. Out of the corner of his eye, he spots a rather familiar face. Mike Wheeler sat not 5 feet from him, his arm around THE prettiest girl at Hawkins High, El Hopper. Her perfect waves of hazelnut hair bounced on her shoulders as she laughed and Will felt like screaming. He HATED her. To the ends of the earth and back. El and her minions basically controlled the entire school. She knew everything about everyone (Gretchen Wieners AND Regina George, sorry wrong decade hehe). She didn't know Will's biggest secret though. You see, Will was never attracted to ANY female ever. Boys on the other hand, made Will blush furiously. WhO wOuLd HaVe ThOuGhT?

 A shriek from the other side of the mall, brought Will back to reality.

"BYERS!! OVER HERE LOSER!!" Will smiled. Max was waving so hard he thought her arm might fall off. He made his way over to his friend, chuckling.

"You have GOT to chill, Max!" The red-head smiled brightly, and giggled. She finally calmed down and started walking in the direction of the cinema.

"Get your butt over here, Byers. We have Indiana Jones to watch," Max cried. God she could make a scene when she wanted to. People turned to stare at them in utter confusion and Will could hear some of them whisper about how strange they were...
