Chapter 3: Final Rain
DISCLAIMER: I DON'T OWN BOKU NO HERO ACADEMIA. ALL CREDIT GOES TO HORIKOSHI KOUHEI-SENSEI. I ONLY OWN THE PLOT OF THIS STORY.
So here is the chapter. And from the title I guess most of you can already tell what that means. I had always intended for this story to be a short one. So now it has come to an end. Though I might change my mind, and make a sequel. Maybe? I don't know yet.
So at one part of typing this, I kind of felt like crying a bit.
Anyways, sorry for any bad spelling or grammar errors. Or if it just doesn't make sense.
Enjoy.

Katsuki and Izuku had spent the entire night huddled together on the sofa. Though they had both been forced to get up and put on their shirts, because it had begun to get cold. But then ended up falling asleep again.
Once morning came, Izuku found himself alone on the sofa. There was no sign of Katsuki around.
"Kaachan?" Izuku called out groggily rubbing away sleep from his eyes as he got up from the sofa to go in search of said person.
It didn't take him long to fin him.

He had been trying to be as quiet as possible with what he was currently doing.
He had woken up early, and decided that it would be best to make some breakfast for both of them. And also because he was hungry, so that was more reason to make something to eat. Even though it was barely five in the morning, he was hungry.
As best as he could, he tried to be as quiet as he could in the kitchen. He didn't want to make much of a ruckus and end up waking up Izuku. But since the place was relatively small size, so that was a challenge. And it was a challenge he was up to take. Nothing would get in his way. And if Izuku woke up due to the noise, then so be it.
But, he hadn't been expecting for Izuku to wake up so soon. While he was barely starting to pull out the eggs from the refrigerator, he heard Izuku's voice.
"kaachan?" The voice was slurred, heavy with sleep.
Katsuki sighed, but said nothing and continued to do what he was going to do. Not long after he heard Izuku's voice, Izuku walked into the kitchen.
"What are you doing?"
Katsuki turned to look at the small teen, "Breakfast." Was all he said before turning back around to his task.

He had always been pretty good at cooking. Something he was proud of, since that was something else that he was great at.
The same can't be said for Izuku. He isn't the best at cooking. If he were to make an omelet, then you better be prepared to chew on some crunchy egg shells. Or have it a little bit (maybe a lot) salty omelet. Or maybe end up with something burned. But there were some things he was okay enough with making. And that was miso soup. His mother had tried teaching him a few times how to cook something simple, and the only thing that stuck well with him was miso soup.
Once the food had been prepared, plated, and set on the table, Izuku couldn't help but look at the food in front of him.
He was amazed at how prefect it looked. Perfect color. Not overly cooked, nor under cooked.
"Don't just look at the food." Katsuki said before getting a mouth full of food.
Izuku jumped a bit at hearing the sudden voice, "Sorry. It's just that.... this is the first time that I'll be eating something you made." Izuku smiled at Katsuki.
"Hm." Was all Katsuki responded with.
To say the least. Izuku thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast. He really liked it, and he secretly wished that Katsuki would make them lunch if he stayed until then.
~Time Skip~
They had almost forgotten that they needed to go to school, though the day felt more like it should be spent indoors in a warm place since it was still a cloudy Friday. They would have forgotten if it weren't for Izuku's alarm that had gone off at six in the morning.
Both of them quickly got ready. Luckily for Katsuki, his mother had packed his uniform in his bag.
"Are you ready?" Izuku asked as went to check on Katsuki while putting on his jacket.

He silently watched one by one each of the students filed in to the class, laughing, and talking about whatever came to mind. What new heroes have shown up, or what new technique they have come up with for practice, and so on.
He placed his elbows on his table and leaned his chin onto the palm of his hands, and closed his eyes.
"Todoroki-kun, are you okay?" A voice was heard near Todoroki.
Todoroki opened his eyes and tilted his head upwards slight to see Ojiro.
With a sigh Todoroki sat up straight in his chair, "Yes, I'm fine."
"I see." Ojiro murmured not completely believing him since he didn't look well at all.
There was no visible change to him to say that Todoroki was hurt, or that maybe he was sick. He just looked different, and gave off a different feeling around him than usual.
In a way he seemed.... disheartened? Though he looked content at the same time?
Ojiro wasn't the only one to notice the change at all, many of the class had noticed it as well, but they didn't put too much thought into it. At first that is. Because over time, some of the class have gone and asked if Todoroki was alright, of course being discrete about it.
Todoroki turned his head towards the window after Ojiro left, and gazed at the cloudy sky.

The days passed, and it was still raining off and on. Some had even brought up the idea that maybe the cause of it was someone's quirk. But that was quickly pushed aside.
Many of the schools around town had to shut down due to having some part of the school getting water damage, or having some part gave way to the water that had been pooling on top. But not UA, they had classes.
In fact they took this as an opportunity to train.
"We'll be having you each split in teams of two and putting you in different locations." Aizawa said as he adjusted the umbrella over him so that papers in his hands wouldn't get wet.
"So you will each pull out a piece of paper from this box and that will determine your partner." All Might said then shortly after let out his booming laughter as some groaned over the weird looking box All Might had in his hands. It was a box.... that had a picture of him on it, "Once you get your paper, wait until everyone has gotten theirs so you can open them."
One by one each went up and pulled out a piece of paper. Once everyone had theirs, All Might told them to unfold the papers.
They were all numbers. All the ones with the number one go together, number two go together, and so on.
As each called out their numbers or went in search for their number partner, some were disappointed at not being partners with someone that they had wanted.
That certainly was the case for Katsuki and Izuku. Though Izuku was in a way glad that he wasn't paired with Katsuki, since he knew that he would end up getting distracted by him. But for Katsuki, he was not very happy at not having Izuku with him. And he was especially mad at who Izuku had gotten as a partner.
Todoroki.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Was this a blessing or a curse? Todoroki looked down at the matching number on Izuku's piece of paper.
"Guess we're partners then." Izuku smiled at Todoroki.
Todoroki nodded, "Yeah."

Some, well those who used fire as their quirk, had some problem in the rain.
Katsuki couldn't very well use his quirk with his bare hands, but when he had his gauntlets on it worked just fine.
And for Todoroki, he rarely used his fire. He started to use it every once in a while to get used to it. But he was fairing alright with his ice. Though it ended up making areas much more cold and slippery with the rain that fell on it.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
His heart ached as he looked up at the sky to avoid looking at the one person he had yearned for. He didn't care that the rain was falling on his face. He merely closed his eyes to avoid it getting in his eyes. And just stood there still in the middle of the rain after their training had finished.
He was so still, that he looked more like a statue. A statue with such a sorrowful expression facing up at the sky. Almost as if waiting for an answer from the heavens. Or for something to happen.
Todoroki had come to terms with it and accepted it. He knew that he loved Izuku. He at first thought it was feelings of friendship or just because he cared about him, but as time passed, he realized that he didn't just like Izuku as a friend. And that was made painfully clear when Izuku and Katsuki started to date each other.
But he had accepted the fact that Izuku would never be his. And he was alright with that. He was fine with it, as long as Izuku is happy. He was happy for Izuku.
He is alright with it. He's fine. He's okay. But it still hurts. That throbbing in his heart when he sees them together.
"It'll pass soon." Is what he always tells himself. After all for all he knows it could be just a simple crush.
Todoroki knew that Katsuki had his suspicions about him, so he had pulled Katsuki aside one day and told him that he didn't have to worry about him doing anything to Izuku. That he wouldn't make any move on him at all. But he never told Katsuki that he had any feelings for Izuku more than friends.
As the rain pelted his face and cascaded down his chin and neck, he thought back at the many times he had thought of confessing his feelings to Izuku. But backed out since it would only make Izuku uncomfortable.
He opened his eyes, "A new step." He murmured to himself. He had decided that now was the time for a new chapter in his life. To turn the page. Those feeling he held for Izuku, he decided would be locked away. And in a way after making his choice, he felt relieved. He could feel the tension in his shoulders relax.
"I'm fine with this. I'm satisfied." He whispered to himself. And in truth he was fine with it. Some would call him foolish, but he didn't care.
~Time Skip (A Few Hours Later)~
"I hope it stops raining soon." Izuku sighed as he thought of the practically drowning flowers in the park.*
Katsuki scoffed, "By the looks of it, it'll keep raining for while more."
"I hope not."
The two walked silently side by side each with their own umbrella heading home. Each content with the presence of the other. And occasionally reaching out and brushing their fingers together for brief moments. Small touches and caresses to one another.
At one point Izuku got an idea. A very interesting idea. To take Katsuki's umbrella and make a run for it. And he did just that.
Izuku, mid way home also closed his umbrella just as he had closed the one he took from Katsuki. He now too was almost as soaking wet as Katsuki running after him.
Running through the rain, brought back so many memories of when the two of them were children and played with each other all the time. And the thought only brought out a laugh from Izuku and a few tears.
By this time Katsuki was right behind him, and grabbed a hold of his arm, "Shitty Deku!" He then took his umbrella with a huff, "Now we're all wet thanks to you."
Izuku sighed, "Yeah." He looked up at the sky and smiled, then looked at Katsuki, "I love you." And he reached up and slowly pulled Katsuki down and placed a gently kiss on his lips before pulling away.

When they had managed to get home to Izuku's place, by now their clothes were sticking to their bodies. And a few sniffles could be heard.
"Let me turn on the heater." Izuku said as he took off his jacket, shoes, and socks and left them by the door and walked into the house leaving a few droplets of water in his way to the heater. Katsuki soon followed after discarding his soaking shoes, socks and jacket at the door as well. And went after Izuku.
Izuku was now in front of the heater letting his cold hands warm up. Katsuki walked up behind him and placed his chin onto Izuku's shoulder.
"This reminds me of that day when.... when we kissed." Izuku said as a blush blossomed.
Katsuki smirked, "I know. We never got to finish what we started that day." He whispered into Izuku's ear. With that He took a step back from Izuku and turned Izuku around to face him.
Izuku nervously fidgeted as he looked up at Katsuki.
Katsuki grabbed Izuku's tie and slowly untied it, and slipped it off and slowly almost as if teasing Izuku, slowly unbuttoned the top buttons of his shirt.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Izuku gasped as he felt Katsuki bite his neck hard, then slowly licked it. And made his way up with tender kisses all the way to Izuku's parted lips.
Katsuki had made sure to fully discard Izuku's shirt, while his own shirt was still partially on.
Izuku unable to wait more closed off the small distance between them, and kissed Katsuki. Katsuki smirked as he felt Izuku move his body much closer to his, until they were skin to skin.
They had been so lost in their thoughts that they didn't notice the sound of the door knob turning. The sound of the door closing, until....
"Izuku, I'm home. I came back earlier than I thought I would."
Katsuki and Izuku both instantly froze.
"Mom!" Izuku squeaked out as he heard his mother's footstep come further into the house and her soft murmurs of, "I'll need to mop all this water up."
They both quickly pulled away from each other, and Izuku frantically looking for his shirt until he found it and put it on. Though it was inside out, but he didn't care at the moment.
"You boys must be so cold to be standing in front of the heater." Inko exclaimed, "Go take a bath while I make you two something warm to drink."
They both nodded and headed in the direction of where the bathroom was.
"Oh, and would you two mind waiting a bit until you're much older." Inko said as she smiled.
It was completely obvious to her what was about to happen when she had walked in and saw them.
Katsuki pursed his lips then nodded, before smirking since he had already practically gotten permission to take Izuku as his own once they're older.
As for Izuku.... it took him a bit longer to understand what he mother was referring to. And once he understood, he felt like his entire body was on fire from embarrassment.

*The practically drowning flowers in the park part, I don't know if all parks are like this. But the park in the town I live in has some flowers in it. Some flowers are planted there for in memory of someone, the same as trees as well. I've seen a park at another town that doesn't have flowers. At mind it has flowers, and lots of trees, and of course where the kids can play. And it's always kept clean since it's part of the historic part of town. That park is like the center of the town and all the buildings around the park are buildings from when the town was first founded.
Was it only me or did some of you tear up a bit or feel sad for Todoroki. I was so sad, I kind of wanted to cry. I was like, "No don't be sad!"
I hope you guys liked it. I don't know how many of you were waiting for some serious action to start here, but I just couldn't bring myself to type that. I don't think my heart would have been able to handle it all. Though who knows maybe in some other one, I might add something there. Though I'm not sure.... yet.
So that's it for now. Hope you enjoyed it.
