weird messes...

Oops its been over  a month since I've updated. My b. I got distracted by Life.

Wanda sat in her cell staring blankly at the wall across from her, her mind going through her list of objectives.

Kill Tony Stark? Check.

Make Pietro remember her? Check.

Enact her revenge on Hydra for stealing her life away from her? A work in progress.

She heard the door to the cell block beep as it opened, not bothering to turn to look to see who it was. Footsteps approached her cell, stopping just outside.

"I was wondering when you would visit me, Widow." Wanda hummed, rubbing the wrist where the dampener cuff was placed. "Come to see if you can break the 'brainwashing' I am placed under?"

"I'm not here to do anything but observe." Natasha replied. "He is here to see what he can do."

Wanda turned around, curiosity getting the better of her. Her eyes widened when she saw a bald man in a wheelchair next to Natasha, a calm look on his face. She narrowed her eyes at his serene positioning, wishing she could wipe the look off his face. "You're Professor Xavier, are you not?"

"Yes, I am. There is no need to be afraid, Wanda, I-"

"I'm not afraid." Wanda jut her chin out defiantly, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Nevertheless, I am here to help you, Wanda." Professor Xavier smiled at her. Wanda glared back.

"I don't want nor need your help. I can handle myself and my problems on my own thank you, and goodbye." Wanda turned her back to the duo on the other side of her cell.

Wanda, let me help you.

Wanda grabbed her head, grunting. "Argh! Get out of my head, old man! You aren't invited!"

If you allow me to undo the trigger phrase that Hydra implanted in you, then we may be able to let you go.

"I said get out!" Wanda snarled. "And don't lie to me, you're never going to let me go. I've killed too many people."

Under the control of Hydra brainwashing. You weren't in control of your actions. You may be able to atone for your crimes by serving with-

"What, you think I'll be like the Winter Soldier? Assassin to Avenger? This is the only life I've ever known, Hydra made sure of it. I don't know how to function on the outside, I only know how to kill." Wanda's voice broke on the word 'kill', her throat getting thick and tight. "I'm a living weapon. That's all I'll ever be. All I can be."

You can use your gifts for good, Wanda. You can be the most powerful hero the world has ever seen, if you allow yourself to be. Let us help you reach your true potential. You aren't what Hydra has tried to make you into. You don't have to be an assassin anymore. Let goodness into your life and into your heart.

Wanda sat there, her mind waging war with heart.

On one hand, she could never get her revenge on Hydra if she were a hero. It goes against there inherent moral code what she has planned for them. She would be hunted down for the rest of her days if she went through with her plans. And she needed to get her revenge.

On the other hand, being a hero had its perks. She would be close to her brother, which is all she ever wanted. And the Avengers could make Hydra pay in other ways. It wouldn't be as satisfying as her personal revenge but it could be a little cathartic.

Wanda turned to look at Professor Xavier and Natasha, tears lining her eyes. She took in a shuddering breath. "If I agree to this...treatment...my crimes will be absolved and I will serve out my time as an Avenger? Alongside my brother?"

"Yes. Director Fury already has the deal in the works. It is a deal similar to what the Winter Soldier got." Natasha nodded.

Wanda hummed. "I have one condition."

Natasha and Professor Xavier looked at one another. "Alright. What is it?"

"We take down Hydra with extreme prejudice."

"Wanda-"

"They took away my childhood and destroyed my life! Not to mention the countless lives I took and destroyed while under their control. They deserve everything coming their way." Wanda hissed.

Natasha sighed. "Fine. But we'll do it the Avenger way, got it?"

"As long as it gets done."

"So, you are on board?" Natasha raised a brow.

Wanda nodded. "I believe I am, Widow. But make no mistake, I am doing this for my brother. And if anything, and I mean anything, doesn't go as we discussed, well, the deal is null and void."

"Understood." Natasha turned to Professor Xavier. "You can handle her, right? I need to speak with Director Fury and the rest of the Avengers."

"I am alright, Natasha, thank you."

"Okay." Natasha exited the cell block, leaving Wanda with the Professor.

Professor Xavier looked at Wanda, a calm smile on his face. "Are you ready to begin, Wanda?"

"Let's get this over with."

"Alright. I shall warn you, this process may be...uncomfortable...and may bring up unpleasant memories and sensations. But once we begin we must finish, understood?"

"I get it." Wanda rolled her eyes. "I can handle uncomfortable and nasty. I was a child assassin, after all. Or did you already forget the reason for this visit?"

Professor Xavier ignored her quip, instead raising two fingers to one temple. "Let us begin."

Wanda felt Xavier enter her mind again, this time delving deeper than before. She groaned, holding her head.

Stay conscious, Wanda, I need you to stay with me.

Wanda grit her teeth and nodded.  She felt Professor Xavier prodding her mind and memories and gasped as he found what he was looking for.

Prepare yourself Wanda. This is where it gets intense.

Wanda felt a flash of white hot pain in her brain and cried out, digging her fingers into her scalp.

I'm sorry Wanda, but I need you to stay alert. This is only the beginning of the pain.

Wanda screwed her eyes shut. "I'm ready. Do your worst, Professor. Just get Hydra out of my damn head."

As you wish.
