Pub Chatter 7th Edition - June 13, 2021

WELCOME TO THE PUB-VERSE

So.... Last week I totally messed up the points, I apologize.  I have revised the way I record the points and I hope that this week's leader board numbers are correct.  Again, if any of the totals seem incorrect, PLEASE just DM us and we will look at it and fix it if need be.

We have also gotten a Reading List with all the 100 Poem challenge books featured in it and if any of you have created a book to post your Adventure Hunter poems in send us the link and we will add it to the reading list as well.  We encourage everyone to head on over to the reading list "Achievement Hunter/100 Poem Challenge Participants" and check out everyone's books and give them some support.

Lastly, I would like to remind everyone, especially those new to the Pub, you can join in the Achievement Hunter and 100 Poem challenges at any time.

This week's featured poem dates back to the Pub's beginnings and was penned by one of the Pub's dearest supporters @gailrunschke.  This amazing poem is featured in our book "Family Treasures" and is a call to poets to join the Poets Pub back when Bill and Bella (B&B) first started it.  I hope you all enjoy this lyrical delight.

  ~ WATTPADIANS  UNITE  ~
By @gailrunschke

People on Wattpad come and go.
Some jump right in, start to follow,
Make a showy initial pitch
But, before long, they seem to ditch.
Most are sincere and want to know
What this site is really about.
They make an effort to find out.
They read the works of other poets,
Give  input through comments and votes.
Most do write and publish their works.
They seek out friends, but discard jerks.

A few I know are musical;
Their poems tend to be lyrical
Often with romantic subjects
To which most readers don't object.

Some are helpful in many ways,
Bringing sunshine to one's sad days.
They help you through many glitches.
Sometimes they have you in stitches

Some want to fly you to the moon
Or a calm lake to spot a loon.
Some are keen on competition.
For others, fame is their mission.
It's always fun to read their thoughts.
Come, join us now and be good sports.

As Wattpadians, let's unite.
Two Bs request we hear their plight.
Our only chance to win this fight
Is to join their teams; start tonight.

Long Road
By @SummahRocks

A long gravel road
"Welcome to..." a sign greets
As counselors stand by
Greeting cars with clipboards
In their hands
After the speedy hour
It takes to get settled in
And right as the first swim hour
Of the week approaches
I finally make brand new friends
And at the end of six days
Us girls are all
Utterly inseparable

Summer Solstice

The Sky
So blue and vast
A beauty of nature
Where fulgent patterns of sunlight
Glares down

Grasses
Dancing in winds
Such a scorching season
Summe's here to deprive us of

I want everyone to please remember that the Poets Pub is a FAMILY!! Please treat it as such, in that if you ever need someone to talk to, someone to reach out to, we are all here for one another.  From the Pub's humble beginnings, Bill has always wanted this to be a safe place for poets to share their passion, but more than that, he wanted it to be a place for people to connect with one another without judgment.  Kindness, joy and understanding are free flowing here at the Pub, please come and partake.

I hope everyone has a super-duper amazing week, filled with joy and love!!
Remember to... keep those pens and keyboards flying!!

Cheers from you Mystres of Chatter
