Bill and I would like to send out a HUGE heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS to our friend lyttlejoe. You have been the heart and soul of the Pub from the beginning. Not only have you been our most prolific contributor to the Pub's library, your kind heart and gentle words have been (and continue to be) a warm, welcoming light to all that entered the Pub. Bill and I have nothing to offer you but our deepest and most sincere THANK YOU DEAR FRIEND!!
Visiting Wonderful Memories
By lyttlejoe
I awakened from my nap, donned my coat and cap,
and left the walker I abhor inside the door
And at slow but wobbly pace, determination on my face,
I took the elevator to the entrance floor
I wandered through the sunny streets,
a cooling breeze at my behind,
recalling words and names of pleasures past,
eagerly searching for the door I'd hope to find
Then there it stood, the oaken door,
with welcome mat worn thin
I entered and embraced remembered sights of strangers,
friends, nationalities, all sharing words within
Each talking or reciting,
all spoken words received and shared
All given space, no one ignored
Appreciation and support, in a place where people cared
I strolled about the familiar room,
greeting waves and friendly looks
Then I found what I had been looking for,
the shelves containing the Pub's past books
I took one down, found a chair in which I could relax,
passed my fingers over the cover of memories I would read
It's title, Closed Doors and Open Hallways,
I knew would spark this old Pub member's need

POETIC HISTORY
This week I thought I would bring you some poems written by our very own Pubbers. All three of these poems can be found in our "Holiday Challenge" collection. Please feel free to add to this lovely collection of poems.
To our wide world of Pubbers
By lyttlejoe
It may not be brick and mortar
Yet it's a place we all enjoyed
A haven for imagination
Where creative hearts were buoyed
A place where all could try their hand
No voice or efforts were denied
A place to stretch creative wings
No challenge left untried
But nothing stays the same for long
We always search for something new
And who can say that's right or wrong
The fact is that it's true
So to all the amazing folks I met
And shared these wondrous pages
I give sincerest, heartfelt thanks
You will always fill my empty spaces
Merry Christmas to all,
and may the New Year bring another era
of creative adventures together

Angels Sang
By JaneQuill28
Dedicated to all Pubbers
That silent night in the celestial choir angels sang,
stars shone a little brighter than before.
The world received the new-born king,
whom shepherds and Magi came to adore.
The world received new hope in the morning,
peace, goodwill, joy to the world;
now on that day listen as church bells ring
for that heaven-sent message from angels heard.

Great Expectations
By NehpetsEnal
Great ideas are often left in the dark
Rarely seeing the bright light of day
Each one is just another ripple in the ether
Alone in the mind of the beholder, where it is
Tantalizingly close to self-expression
Exiting this self-made prison is the first step into reality
X'd out would be the normal form of submission, but that's
Practically impossible for this grafter, who is a man of steel
Exceeding his own expectations is the name of his game
Chasing after rainbows, you might hear some say, but
That would probably be perceived as music by his ears and would require a melodic response, seen as a
A challenge to his ego, he would build a place where he could strum his guitar, in a corner
The fuel had been ignited, the engine was running, the
Internal combustion engines compression was high, with the heart of a biker, he is inspired
One foot on the floor, the other on the gear shift, there is
No holding him back, with the twists of the accelerator, his idea, like a Hog, is up and running
So, your gift is the acceptance of reality, understanding that expectations, like all forms of motion, run out of gas, as will your partner, the Universe
Footnote: This is my Christmas 2021 gift to BillTemple1957 , to celebrate an outstanding achievement
I hope everyone has a glorious week!!
Remember to... keep those pens and keyboards flying!!
Cheers from you Mystres of Chatter
