On Virtue
Phillis Wheatley - 1753-1784

O Thou bright jewel in my aim I strive
To comprehend thee. Thine own words declare
Wisdom is higher than a fool can reach.
I cease to wonder, and no more attempt
Thine height t'explore, or fathom thy profound.
But, O my soul, sink not into despair,
Virtue is near thee, and with gentle hand
Would now embrace thee, hovers o'er thine head.
Fain would the heav'n-born soul with her converse,
Then seek, then court her for her promis'd bliss.

Auspicious queen, thine heav'nly pinions spread,
And lead celestial Chastity along;
Lo! now her sacred retinue descends,
Array'd in glory from the orbs above.
Attend me, Virtue, thro' my youthful years!
O leave me not to the false joys of time!
But guide my steps to endless life and bliss.
Greatness, or Goodness, say what I shall call thee,
To give an higher appellation still,
Teach me a better strain, a nobler lay,
O thou, enthron'd with Cherubs in the realms of day!

Busted Gulch Vol. 14 Update:

CG told the sheriff a bit about her past before Billy notified 3Gun that the sun had set. Jacob came back to BG and after catching up with Bella, he learned that Josie was taken aboard the LB. When Jhonny was subconscious, the Denver girls knew that he was okay. Out of nowhere, Jhonny kissed Josie. The young lady then slapped Jhonny before stuttering an apology. Denver acted quickly when he received the good news about Jhonny. The first Ferry was soon hitched up with the LB and Captain Riggs was towing it into their trap.

Thank you MysteriousDryad for another great update!!

The Poet's Love Song
By Sarojini Naidu

IN noon-tide hours, O Love, secure and strong,
I need thee not; mad dreams are mine to bind
The world to my desire, and hold the wind
A voiceless captive to my conquering song.
I need thee not, I am content with these:
Keep silence in thy soul, beyond the seas!

But in the desolate hour of midnight, when
An ecstasy of starry silence sleeps
On the still mountains and the soundless deeps,
And my soul hungers for thy voice, O then,
Love, like the magic of wild melodies,
Let thy soul answer mine across the seas.

I know this year has been exceptionally difficult for the whole world, yet I have found unity in the midst of the chaos.  I have been reminded daily, that we all breath the same air, we all bleed red, we all morn and we all celebrate, we are all in this together.

Cheers from you Mystres of Chatter
