Love is life blinding
By @NehpetsEnal
Love is life blinding
My heart is, constantly pounding
It's why's and wherefores are bewildering
Falling in love is, simply amazing
Most of the time you feel like your dreaming
But when your other half falls out of love, it is, despairing
I am only half the man I was, so used to fifty-fifty, sharing
I do not know what to do with all my caring
So, used to our one on one, pairing
Learning to live without her love is, overwhelming
Feels like my soul is emptying
There is no answer, to the suffering
What is the purpose of living
Well, the alternative is, dying
An outlook that leaves me shivering
And I understand the pain caused by someone, leaving
My self-respect is dwindling
Followed by the self-loathing
The world around me is shrinking
Inside my mind, I am, hiding
The emotional rope is binding
I screamed and cried, help me I am, suffocating
Then one day I was captivated by someone, smiling
It gave me a warm, feeling
For the first time in years, my skin is, tingling
I find myself, smiling
The fever is, breaking
The dark clouds of doubt are, lifting
The sun is shining
Will it stop me sinking
There is no knowing
Love may not be spawning
But a new day is, dawning
Fingers crossed and lots of praying
F/N: This feels like a song in my mind and would love to hear Arrested Youth singing it, try reading it with this track pounding in the background, it gave me a real kick, had it playing in a loop.

The Roommate
By @Gadralneure
It starts to scratch each moonlit night.
Beneath my bed the chittering begins.
Sounds like drowning lovebirds
fill the room with high-pitched screams
and gurgles.
I brave a peek down to the floor
to catch a view of that old friend
who's followed me from bed to bed
since choosing me in childhood.
The silver light glints off its slimy carapace.
It's mandibles click hungrily,
hoping that I need to leave the bed.
It does not frighten me.
I don't have many friends
and scarred ankles are a small price
to pay for loyalty.
Thank you @Gadralneure for sharing your spooky poem with us! If anyone else wants to share a scary poem with us we would love to share it here! I would like to challenge all of you to write your best scary poems and share them with us!!
I hope everyone has a fantastic, productive and safe week!! And keep those pens and keyboards flying!!
Cheers from you Mystres of Chatter
