Pub Chatter 6th Edition - November 29, 2020

Okay guys and gals, I realize it that here in America it is still "technically" Thanksgiving weekend, but I just can't stand it anymore!!!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS

I think because this year has been so crazy, I am really, really in the mood for some Holiday Cheer, so I hope y'all don't mind me inundating you all with Holiday pictures, Holiday poems and all things Christmas!!

I am READY to spread some JOY!!!!!

A Message from MysteriousDryad

I hope everyone has had a great thanksgiving full of love and laughter, if you celebrate the holiday.

I'm grateful for how successful the Forum has been since it has started anew. So, thank you for that!

I do want to point out that I am doing this on a volunteer basis. I do not get paid or anything like that. But, that's fine because I love what I do. I know that I may not log in for a day or two at a time but that is because I have a life and personal matters that I attend to.

Managing the forum is what I enjoy. Seeing the numerous notifications brings a smile to my face. From your submissions to your conversations between each other. It makes me feel privileged to take care of the site and give y'all awesome contests.

I do want to ask if y'all could spread the word around please, if possible. It is more fun to meet and see new faces around. No one writer is the same and it's a pleasure to see different yet unique stories competing.

Other than that, I wish everyone well and happy holidays!!

Ode to The Poets Pub (inspired by Beethoven's Ode to Joy)
By aMusedAndPoetic

O friends, more of these words!
Let us write cheerful poems,
and fill them with hope!

Thy magic pencil unites
in a world that seems so divided
Let strangers become sisters and brothers
Under the wings of The Pub

As Christmas yet again nears
our spirits are ruffled and torn
A tried people in trying times
We shall not succumb and give in

In these challenging times
with our invisible foe
More than ever is needed
Thy sanctuary

Busted Gulch Vol. 14 Update:

Jacob didn't believe a single word that came out of Sallie's mouth. To make matters worse, Jujube appeared and Jacob knew this was definitely going to reach Rue. When Sallie introduced herself to Jujube, she called Jacob her fiancé. She started to threaten him but he left her in the saloon. Jacob wanted to tell Jujube and Rue everything and come clean about it. Ron told the sheriff about what he had found regarding CG. The sheriff told him to go home and he planned a visit to Tent City to see William Land. Jasper kissed Rue and the one kiss told Rue everything she needed to know. Jasper and Rue talked to Done and Dusted. That night, they were no more and the West was free from their tyranny.

Thank you for the Busted Gulch MysteriousDryad!

The Abominable Snowman
By Ogden Nash

I've never seen an abominable snowman,
I'm hoping not to see one,
I'm also hoping, if I do,
That it will be a wee one.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
By Robert Frost

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

This brings us to the end/beginning of another week here at the Pub!! We want you all to know how much we appreciate each and everyone of you!! Each of you has a unique voice that contributes to the beautiful music made here at the Pub! Thank you for helping us create a place of serenity in a chaotic world.

And remember to keep those pens and keyboards flying!!

Cheers from you Mystres of Chatter
