Pub Chatter 6th Edition - November 22, 2020

WELCOME TO THE PUB-VERSE

Hello Everyone!!

I hope all is well in your part of the world!! I hope your weekend has been joyful!!

A Song for Merry Harvest
Eliza Cook - 1818-1889

Bring forth the harp, and let us sweep its fullest, loudest string.
The bee below, the bird above, are teaching us to sing
A song for merry harvest; and the one who will not bear
His grateful part partakes a boon he ill deserves to share.
The grasshopper is pouring forth his quick and trembling notes;
The laughter of the gleaner's child, the heart's own music floats.
Up! up! I say, a roundelay from every voice that lives
Should welcome merry harvest, and bless the God that gives.

The buoyant soul that loves the bowl may see the dark grapes shine,
And gems of melting ruby deck the ringlets of the vine;
Who prizes more the foaming ale may gaze upon the plain,
And feast his eye with yellow hops and sheets of bearded grain;
The kindly one whose bosom aches to see a dog unfed
May bend the knee in thanks to see the ample promised bread.
Awake, then, all! 'tis Nature's call, and every voice that lives
Shall welcome merry harvest, and bless the God that gives.

Busted Gulch Vol. 14 Update:

Myna told Billy and 3Gun Land's tale, having a bad feeling about it all. 3Gun then told Billy CG's tale. When William left the Mayor's office, he ran into the sheriff and his deputy. William threw a punch at 3Gun when he mentioned CG. 3Gun returned the punch and the battle went out until he got squared in the chin. William's men led him away after that.

Thank you for the Busted Gulch MysteriousDryad!

November Contest/Founder's Challenge –

Thanksgiving Day
Lydia Maria Child

Over the river, and through the wood,
  To grandfather's house we go;
       The horse knows the way
       To carry the sleigh
  Through the white and drifted snow.

Over the river, and through the wood—
  Oh, how the wind does blow!
       It stings the toes
       And bites the nose
  As over the ground we go.

Over the river, and through the wood,
  To have a first-rate play.
       Hear the bells ring
       "Ting-a-ling-ding",
  Hurrah for Thanksgiving Day!

Over the river, and through the wood
  Trot fast, my dapple-gray!
       Spring over the ground,
       Like a hunting-hound!
  For this is Thanksgiving Day.

Over the river, and through the wood,
  And straight through the barn-yard gate.
       We seem to go
       Extremely slow,—
  It is so hard to wait!

Over the river and through the wood—
  Now grandmother's cap I spy!
       Hurrah for the fun!
       Is the pudding done?
  Hurrah for the pumpkin-pie!

We would like to raise a glass and sing a Cheer for those celebrating Thanksgiving this week!! We want all of you to know that we are eternally thankful for all of you!! You are the backbone of the Pub and we are grateful for each and everyone of you!! I hope you all have a safe and productive week!!

And remember to keep those pens and keyboards flying!!

Cheers from you Mystres of Chatter
