Pub Chatter 6th Edition - May 10th, 2020
!!!!!!! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY !!!!!!
The Poets Pub would like to send out a HUGE THANK YOU to all the moms and grandmas out there!!
+++++++++++++++++++++
Message from MysteriousDryad
It's been a year or two since I joined PoetsPub as a beginning poet. Most_bay introduced me it too when I was a begging poet and well, here I am.
Never did think I would be joining a community like this but I'm glad I did.
I'm so grateful to be apart of this community of Poets. I've learned so much from it and met so many amazing poets as well. I'm also grateful to be celebrating the 5th anniversary with everyone here. It's a huge honor to be apart of it and to be surrounded by magnificent poets.
As I continue to slowly grow in this art that we all share, I want to also celebrate all the poems every poet has written! Each poem is filled with such outstanding beauty, I could never compare too! It's an absolute pleasure to be apart of a community where poets grow daily! And while I have not been here long, I couldn't imagine another home away from home!!
For the rest of the month, let's join our virtual hands together and celebrate as one big happy community! Let's remember our home away from home, our safe haven! Let's remember PoetsPub for as long as we live and let it forever grow as Bill and Myna continue to run this site!
Thank you everyone for making PoetsPub what it is today! Without members like you, it wouldn't be PoetsPub!
Happy 5th anniversary PoetsPub and here to many years forward!!!
APRIL CONTEST WINNERS
After much consideration our judges have come to their decision. It was not easy by any means, and that is just how we like it!! The poems you sent in for the April contest were some of the most poignant and heartfelt poems we have ever had!! It is just more evidence that the members of the Poets Pub are not only stellar poets but amazing people!! Thank you to each and everyone of you!!

"The Builders"
by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
All are architects of Fate,
Working in these walls of Time;
Some with massive deeds and great,
Some with ornaments of rhyme.
Nothing useless is, or low;
Each thing in its place is best;
And what seems but idle show
Strengthens and supports the rest.
For the structure that we raise,
Time is with materials filled;
Our to-days and yesterdays
Are the blocks with which we build.
Truly shape and fashion these;
Leave no yawning gaps between;
Think not, because no man sees,
Such things will remain unseen.
In the elder days of Art,
Builders wrought with greatest care
Each minute and unseen part;
For the Gods see everywhere.
Let us do our work as well,
Both the unseen and the seen;
Make the house, where Gods may dwell,
Beautiful, entire, and clean.
Else our lives are incomplete,
Standing in these walls of Time,
Broken stairways, where the feet
Stumble as they seek to climb.
Build to-day, then, strong and sure,
With a firm and ample base;
And ascending and secure
Shall to-morrow find its place.
Thus alone can we attain
To those turrets, where the eye
Sees the world as one vast plain,
And one boundless reach of sky.

PERSONAL ANNOUNCEMENT -
We are thrilled to announce our very own Ruechari now has her book "A Reluctant Angel" up for sale as an Ebook on booknet.com. Congratulations Ruechari!!!!
"A Reluctant Angel"
Progressive Properties is aggressively taking over where small neighborhoods once flourished. Now Angelique's Shelter, St. Gabriel's, is under attack. Who shows up at her door to deliver the news? John McDougal, now a prominent property attorney, and once love of her life, who broke her heart into a million pieces.
John never meant to hurt Angelique. Hiding from a past filled with pain, John did what was necessary to protect those he loved, a decision that left him utterly alone, but now he hopes to save the one he let get away.
Angelique is in danger of losing the shelter, forever, but something bigger underlies these events and those closest to Angelique are in danger. A stranger has come to reveal a secret about Angelique's past. To save those she loves she must remember who she is.

Lyttlejoe's Busted Gulch Volume 14:
Bella went to go meditate at the waterfall and let her mind and soul be clean and clear. She experienced freedom from her past and was happy. Brody went to Rue to see why everyone has gone missing but the answers he got weren't ones he liked to much. Everything was happening across county lines so he couldn't do anything to help.
If you want to find out what happens next, head over to the Saloon and check it out for yourself! New chapters are posted daily, so don't forget to add it to your reading list!
Thank you MysteriousDryad for another great update!!
For the month of April, we are all gonna play the fool. We are asking everyone to send in your fav funny little story, poem, anecdote, sayings, jokes .... anything at all, that will give a laugh, a chuckle, or even a smile.
April is April's Foolishness month at the FFF and with respect to what is happening in the world, we feel we could all use a laugh. So, pop over to the FFF and become part of the April Foolishness.
You can send in something new every day. Come on Pubbers. Pop over to your sister/brother/undisclosed site and share a laugh with everyone.

Random Poetry Prompt
Write a poem using all the following words: hope, future, science, invention, and destiny.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The Cinquain form has been experimented with greatly. Adelaide Crapsey original form lends well to gentle variations and there are many. Here are some of the most noteworthy syllabic forms:
Reverse Cinquain: This form consists of one 5-line stanza in a pattern of two, eight, six, four, two.
Mirror Cinquain: This form has two 5-line stanzas consisting of a cinquain followed by a reverse cinquain.
Butterfly Cinquain: This is a nine-line syllabic form with the pattern two, four, six, eight, two, eight, six, four, two.
Crown Cinquain: This is a sequence of five cinquain stanzas functioning to construct one larger poem.
Garland Cinquain: This is a series of six cinquains in which the last one is formed of lines from the preceding five, typically line one from stanza one, line two from stanza two, and so on.
Other accepted forms of the Cinquain are word counts and parts of speech.
Words Counts:
Line 1- one word
Line 2- two words
Line 3- three words
Line 4- four words
Line 5- one word
Example -
Make a Wish
By MystresMyna
Stars
Boldly dance
Silver lacy light
Falling from the sky
Silence
Parts of Speech:
Line 1- one noun
Line 2- two adjectives
Line 3- three -ing words
Line 4- a phrase
Line 5- another word for the noun from line 1
Example -
Flower Time
By MystresMyna
Flora
Colorful, winsome
Charming, exciting, inviting
Beauty, to be sipped slowly.
Garden
The Cinquain encompasses many parts of the poetic creative process and can be made simple enough that it would be a great introduction for those new to poetry, (words per line/parts of speech) and then be adapted for more seasoned poets (iambic meter/syllable count).
