Catch A Little Rhyme
By Eve Merriam

Once upon a time
I caught a little rhyme

I set it on the floor
but it ran right out the door

I chased it on my bicycle
but it melted to an icicle

I scooped it up in my hat
but it turned into a cat

I caught it by the tail
but it stretched into a whale

I followed it in a boat
but it changed into a goat

When I fed it tin and paper
it became a tall skyscraper

Then it grew into a kite
and flew far out of sight...

Busted Gulch Update:

Denver told the ladies the plan to rescue Brandy and Bruce. He shared with Petra a story of Taluah after telling them the plan. Petra was snapped out of the dream when she was awaken with a shove. Tiger and Hillary are both prisoners in a hut in Devil's Moor. When Tiger was brought, he found comfort in Hillary's arms. Denver and Jake blew a hole in Brandy's captors barricade to let his posse get through. Once a hole was made, Missy was first through to make sure her kids were ok. Though, there was no sign of Jacob, Brandy, and Bruce.

Thank you MysteriousDryad for another great update!!

Random Poetry Prompt
Write a silly poem using onomatopoeia.

As I mentioned last week, Edward Lear published a book titled 'The Book of Nonsense' that featured 72 limericks.  Lear, most famously known for his poem 'The Owl and the Pussycat', is also credited with bringing the limerick into the mainstream.  His poetry was thought to be inventive and fanciful, although it often had an air of melancholy.  Lear was well traveled and many of his limericks feature persons from specific places from around the world, "There was a man from...".  Here are a few examples of his work:

There was an Old Man on a hill,
Who seldom, if ever, stood still;
He ran up and down,
In his Grandmother's gown,
Which adorned that Old Man on a hill.

There was a Young Lady whose chin,
Resembled the point of a pin;
So she had it made sharp,
And purchased a harp,
And played several tunes with her chin.

***************************************

There was an Old Man in a boat,
Who said, 'I'm afloat! I'm afloat!'
When they said, 'No! you aint!'
He was ready to faint,
That unhappy Old Man in a boat.
