Pub Chatter 6th Edition - August 9, 2020
A Message from Bill
To all Pubbers out there, I would first like to say thank you, for your patience and understanding during the last few weeks. We are all aware, by now, of the difficulties that Wattpad went through and the inevitable end result where all passwords had to be changed.
Unfortunately for us and I take full responsibility for this, the proper information was not kept on file and our beloved Poets Pub almost ceased to be because of it. Never expecting a calamity of this sort to ever happen, has opened my eyes to the importance of keeping good records. Both Myna and I worked diligently to try and rectify the problem and thankfully Myna was finally able to get satisfaction for us and Wattpad allowed us back, once again, into the Pub.
I cannot thank Myna enough for her work in assuring that the Poets Pub will continue to grow and prosper.
Still, we did suffer casualties, as several sites in our Pub Verse are lost to us, namely Poets Pub India, Poets Pub Philippines and the Flash-Fiction-Forum. Though it may be possible to reinstate these sites, a decision has been made to leave them as they are. If, somewhere in the future, we find enough interest to perhaps start these sites again, then we will consider doing so.
I just want to assure one and all that the Poets Pub is back again and alive and we intend to do all we can to ensure that we never have an interruption, like this, ever again.
Again I thank you one and all and I ask that we take this opportunity to continue to grow our beloved Pub and make it the best Poetry site here on Wattpad.
WE'RE BACK!!!!
Hey Pub-Verse we are back in action!! We are thrilled to announce the Pub is open once again!! We have gotten everything fixed and we have full access to the Pub. We have gotten the back log of poems posted and are back to posting your submissions as they come in.
Please, Please, Please, let us know if we missed anything or posted something wrong, we will be happy to get it fixed.
As for the Flash Fiction Forum, it will not be coming back. For the time being we will be accepting the Crossover submissions here at the Pub, you can send them in by Private Message or email by sending them to the Pub's email, [email protected].
We would like to thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts for being so patient and kind. Your support and willingness to stick with us through all of this mess just goes to prove how amazing all of you are, (something we already knew)!!
Cheers,
Myna
Be Glad Your Nose is on Your Face.
By Jack Prelutsky
Be glad your nose is on your face,
not pasted on some other place,
for if it were where it is not,
you might dislike your nose a lot.
Imagine if your precious nose
were sandwiched in between your toes,
that clearly would not be a treat,
for you'd be forced to smell your feet.
Your nose would be a source of dread
were it attached atop your head,
it soon would drive you to despair,
forever tickled by your hair.
Within your ear, your nose would be
an absolute catastrophe,
for when you were obliged to sneeze,
your brain would rattle from the breeze.
Your nose, instead, through thick and thin,
remains between your eyes and chin,
not pasted on some other place--
be glad your nose is on your face!

Busted Gulch Vol. 14 Update:
Billy heard the shotgun blast at the hotel and ran to help. The gunman killed a KitKat, one of Rue's tribe, before Billy shot him. He then surrender and Billy went to Rue with Ronan, who was shot by the gunman. CG asked Bella if she could keep Ron at the stables for some time. Bella was more than happy to comply. After showing Ron a trick Bella can do, Ron and Bella got to work. Two people came aboard the Liberty Belle and killed two of its crew. More of their gang came on the boat and woke those who were sleeping on the ship. A young fellow tried to help, killing one, but he was gagged and dragged to the rest. Ray's people rose the anchors and set sail to deeper waters with the Liberty Belle's crew tied up.
Thank you MysteriousDryad for another great update!!

Mother Doesn'T Want A Dog
By Judith Viorst
Mother doesn't want a dog.
Mother says they smell,
And never sit when you say sit,
Or even when you yell.
And when you come home late at night
And there is ice and snow,
You have to go back out because
The dumb dog has to go.
Mother doesn't want a dog.
Mother says they shed,
And always let the strangers in
And bark at friends instead,
And do disgraceful things on rugs,
And track mud on the floor,
And flop upon your bed at night
And snore their doggy snore.
Mother doesn't want a dog.
She's making a mistake.
Because, more than a dog, I think
She will not want this snake.
To all of you, our dear, dear friend, we cannot tell you how good it is to be back, and we must say again, THANK YOU!! The Pub is only here because of you and we are humbled by your kindness and support!!
I sincerely hope everyone is safe and well and I hope you all have a fantastic week!! Keep those pens and keyboards flying!!
Cheers from you Mystres of Chatter
