Femininity was a virtue... and Angelica Bell held it in a chokehold, raised over her head in a celebratory fashion for the town of Hawkins, Indiana to watch and weep.

Seven people went missing in 1983.

She had it all. Beauty, poise, and brains — there was nothing left to expect from dewy eyes and a pearly smile besides what was read in the latest Cosmo, or the hottest gossip that spread from the loose lips of Carol Perkins into gullible ears. People liked her for her bubbly attitude and air-headed ambience, teenage naïvety let her convince herself that they liked her as a person and not what she stood for.

One came back.

Somewhere, God, or a god, some kind of higher all-knowing being laughed as they watched the dreary town crumble at the foundations. They got bored — Angelica thought as she stood in her living room under the watchful eyes of the chief of police and his two cronies, people of Hawkins vanished without a trace, and no one seemed to know why or how. She could feel the ripple in the ground; the tide shifted as Peter Bell became the third of many mysterious mishaps to occur in the once safe town.

— "She ran away," people said, "He skipped down on a bender," they continued.

Any thought she might've had in her head got squashed by the raging fire that ignited in her bones, it roared behind her eyes and her mind continued to feed it. People started to notice. The Queen of Hawkins had skeletons in her closet, far too many to count, and she worried they would start to gain a mind of their own and poke their ivory fingers from underneath the door. She confided with her friends, or who she thought were her friends — But Hawkins High was a pool of piranhas, and they started to get hungry.

The Queen of Hawkins went nutty!

They called her obsessed, they pushed her away in fear of seeing the truth behind what really made Hawkins a hell on Earth. When Angie looked in the gates of hell, the devil stared back at her, unmoving, unblinking, and unbreathing. But it was never a man with red skin and blood soaked claws, hell fire never surrounded it, no, it was something more palpable... something she could reach out and graze her finger over. And as she stared down the epitome of evil, she realized her life had become —

──── i've had this plot in my brain for months, maybe even years but i finally feel good enough to write it and start to publish it. originally gen and angie exist in two different stories but that's sooooo boring and i don't want to take the time to do all of that. so here's both of them together into one. i love them both 🫶 dearly. and i hope you all do too. the title is based off of the band "pretty sick" btw bc i love them so much

──── angie x billy fartgrove happens and he's a DICK a huge huge DICK. as he is in the show, but i do treat him as a three dimensional character, especially in the eyes of angie (who is stupid). she will romanticize her relationship with him, but that doesn't mean you should too 😒 because he's an abusive bigoted pos who should've died without a 'redemption'.

──── anyway steve x angie and gen pining for nancy. depending on how s2 v2 plays out they might get together but idk yet. enjoy! shakes my booty
