After April and Nikolaj had finished their breakfast in bed, April decided to start working on fixing the roof. To her relief, it didn't start raining again and it seemed that it wouldn't start raining again anytime soon. At least the sky was clear enough.

"Thank you for the breakfast."

She gave him a quick kiss on the mouth. April untangled her legs from the sheets and pushed them aside, making a move to get out of the bed. Nikolaj, however had other plans and was quick to catch her arm, pulling her back into his chest.

He caught her off guard, making a gasp fall from her mouth. His arm looped around her waist and he titled her head, placing hot kisses along her jawline. Her eyes instantly fluttered close, enjoying the feeling of his lips on her skin. She was sure she would never get tired of his kisses.

"Stay in bed with me," he spoke in her ear.

April groaned, when she heard his alluring voice close to her ear. If he only knew how much April just wanted to do that.

Just to stay in bed with him for the rest of the day and doing nothing but enjoying each other. As tempting as it sounded, she knew that they couldn't, they had a lot of things on their To-Do List.

"We can't," she protested.

She attempted to get out of his arms, even if all she wanted was to stay in the same position, but only with less clothes on. But she knew that if she didn't get away from him now, she wouldn't be able leave the bed.

"We can."

Again, he started to place soft kisses all over her face. He began with a gentle kiss on her forehead, deeply breathing in her scent, which April found oddly hot. His lips then travelled down to her nose, to her cheek and then to the corner of her mouth, but not quite kissing her on the lips.

"Nik.. we have a lot of work to do." She titled her head and looked into his eyes. His green eyes were darkened by lust, tempting and alluring. God, it felt hard to say no to him. "What if it starts to rain again?"

"Work can wait," was his response. The corners of his mouth pulled up into a slight smile. "Besides, I don't think it will be raining again. Look, the sun is even shining."

"This can wait, too."

"No it can't. Morning sex is the best way to start the day."

April let out a quiet laugh. It was adorable how much effort he was putting in keeping her in bed. The more he tried to convince her, the harder it was to decline and actually convince him otherwise.

"I believe it's noon already."

"Even better. We can do all the work later. Stay here with me." he stated, eyes peering hopefully down at her. "Please."

"The sooner we get your roof fixed, the sooner we have time for other things," April answered. She patted his chest and gave him another kiss for the great effort.

She got out of the bed and this time Nikolaj didn't try to stop her. As soon as the sheets didn't cover her body anymore, she noticed that she was wearing Nik's clothes. She had almost forgotten that.

She pulled the shirt over her head and tossed it on the bed. From the corner of her eyes she saw Nikolaj watching her up and down. April picked up her bra and all her other clothes and put them on.

Begrudgingly, Nikolaj followed her and slipped out of the bed.

Since Nikolaj didn't own any tools they could use to fix the roof, they didn't have any other choice than driving to the neighboring town and buy all the necessary things they needed. April had forgotten how small Rosewood was and they didn't really have many shops they could go to.

It took them a while to get to the store, since they didn't really know the way and got lost once or twice on their way.

They were lucky that Eric also gave them a few useful things he had found in the basement- a hammer and nails. He was even kind enough to offer Nikolaj his help, if he needed it.

April didn't know much about tools and all the other stuff they needed for fixing a roof. And since they already got the hammer and nails from Eric, she felt slightly lost at the store. But surprisingly enough, Nikolaj knew what they needed and so she just followed him through the whole store.

It took them a while to find all the necessary things, since the store was too large and they had a lot of different things to offer.

Once back at Nik's cottage, they started to work on the roof. April was holding an old wooden ladder as Nikolaj climbed up to the roof.

"Please be careful," she called as she eyed the ladder, which looked too old to be used.

"Don't worry, I will be fine," Nikolaj responded.

April wasn't so sure about that. She was worried that the ladder would break under his heavy weight. Just how many years did he own that thing?

"Why didn't you tell me you need a ladder, too?" She asked and looked up at him. "We could have bought you a new one."

"Why? This one works fine. I use it for years and nothing happened," he spoke with confidence.

The ladder was slightly shaking between her palms. If he would fall, she wouldn't be able to help him and even worse, she would be crushed under his weight. She just hoped he was right and the ladder wouldn't break anytime soon.

She skeptically looked up at him. Nikolaj was hammering nails into the wood of the roof. Pearls of sweat were falling from his forehead and was looking very concentrated while fixing the roof.

It took him about twenty minutes until he was finished. He unfolded the tarp and attached it on the roof. When he was finally done, he slowly got down the ladder, which April still held tightly between her hands.

"See," he said when he stood in front of her. "Nothing happened."

"That's because I was holding the ladder while you were up there."

They walked back into the cottage. April was relieved that Nik lit the fireplace before he started to work outside. Unlike outside, the cottage was comfortably warm, which allowed April to toss her jacket on the side of the couch, not needing it anymore.

"Are you hungry?" Nikolaj asked as he placed the hammer and all the other tools into a box, before placing it in the corner of the room. He threw her a glance from over his shoulder. "We can go out to eat."

"Just a little bit. What about you?"

"Let's go out," Nikolaj said and walked towards her, stopping just in front of her with space barely left between their bodies. "I want to take you out."

April blinked in surprise. They had spend time out, but it never was truly a date. It would be the first time he would take her out. But more surprisingly was the fact, that she didn't even notice until now that they hadn't even been on a single date. She was comfortable and happy just being with him.

"Okay," she responded and smiled up at him.

Nikolaj pulled her closer, until their faces were merely inches apart. His breath fanned her skin, her heartbeat quickening its pace.

Nik's lips brushed against hers, making her want more, before kissing her passionately. It was an intense kiss, but then again, every single kiss she had with Nikolaj was nothing less than intense and passionate.

She just couldn't get enough of him and as it seemed, he also couldn't get enough of her. He placed his warm hand against her left cheek, his kiss turning more urgent and much deeper than before.

When he pulled away after short moments, April was trying to catch her breath. Her heart was beating against her chest so violently, that she was pretty sure Nikolaj was clearly hearing the erratic beat of her heart.

"Before we go out," Nikolaj spoke, his voice deep. "I want to remind you of your promise to spend some of your time with me in bed."

April rolled her eyes and let out a joyful laugh.

"How could I forget that? I was looking forward to that all the day."

Nikolaj grinned down at her and dipped down to give her mouth another lingering kiss, but before his lips could touch hers, a loud ear-shattering crash outside his cottage made his body freeze.
