Silver x Reader
Listening to Shinedown right now. My favorite band ever! I love Diamond Eyes. I'm going to try and update a couple other stories today, as well as writing an article for a local birding newsletter, and doing research on Japanese medicine, AND completing two power points for my finals presentations Monday and Tuesday. SAVE ME!!!!
Also, thanks to breadotaku for another wonderful request! Anyone can request, but I probably won't do lemons, so don't try to corrupt my semi-innocent mind any further please!
"Weavile, use ice shard!" A flurry of sharp, pointed icicles slammed into a nearby rock, causing a spiderweb of cracks to appear on it. "Now Gyarados, finish this with hyper beam!"
A young red haired man was giving orders to his pokemon. His grey eyes matched the heavy, bloated clouds hanging low overhead. When his red gyarados's attack hit the bolder, it shattered, throwing shrapnel in every direction.
"Honchcrow, aerial ace", the boy commanded. His pokemon used the attack to block any shards of rock that were thrown in the red head's direction. "Good", he said. It was rare for him to compliment anyone, so his pokemon knew what a big deal this praise was. "Again."
They'd been honing their attacks all morning, just focusing on those three techniques. His other pokemon were back at the cabin he'd built last year, after moving here. Most people wouldn't enjoy living in the dark forest, but Silver wasn't like most people.
After defeating the Masked Man with the other trainers, he'd traveled around for a while, but had finally been drawn to this forest.
A scream jolted him out of his thoughts. It came from the direction of the canyon. After returning his pokemon to their pokeballs, Silver started running toward the noise, branches whipping his face and shaking cold droplets of water in his hair.
When he reached the canyon, he looked around, listening for anything else. A thick root dangled over the edge, and when it jerked, a cry came from below.
Silver looked over the edge to see a girl desperately clinging to the root. "Hang on", he told her. "Honchkrow, go get her!" he said, releasing the pokemon from its pokeball.
"Krrow!" the pokemon cried, swooping down just as the girl's grip failed. She plunged down until Honchkrow caught her arm, pulling her back up to the edge of the deep, narrow gap.
Honchkrow dropped her next to Silver, and she collapsed onto her knees, struggling to get her breathing in order after almost dying. When she'd calmed down, she just sat there staring at Silver. "T-thank you", she said eventually.
"No problem", he replied.
"I. . . I almost died. . . " she said.
"You're fine now. Just relax."
She took another deep breath, standing up finally. The girl held out a hand after some dirt from holding onto the root on her pants. "I'm (y/n)."
"Silver. How'd you fall?"
"I twisted my ankle. When I tried to walk it gave out and I ended up falling in the canyon", she explained.
She took a hesitant step, testing out her ankle. It still wouldn't support her, and she collapsed, but Silver caught her.
"Idiot. Why're you trying to walk on your ankle if it's hurt?"
"Well I can't just stay here", she gestured around them at the woods, full of hostile pokemon, and the canyon, treacherous and deep. As if to prove her right, it started raining just then.
Silver sighed. "Come on", he said, helping her walk in the direction of his house.
They stayed inside for a few hours, and once the rain stopped, Silver asked if (y/n) needed help getting home.
"I. . . I don't have a home", she said. "Is it okay if I. . . If I stay here? With you? I really like this forest, and I don't have anywhere else to go."
Silver thought about it for a while. "I don't know", he finally said. "Maybe for a few days, I guess. But you'd better leave after that."
They'd been living together for three years now. Today was the day that Silver was finally going to tell (y/n) how he felt about her. He just had to wait for her to get back. She went on a long walk every day with her (f/p), and he knew that she'd be back soon.
"Silvy!" she called, returning at last, "I'm back! And look what I found!"
She held up a small bouquet of wild flowers, their jewel-like colors bright in the fading light from the setting sun.
"Those are pretty", he said.
"Thanks! I picked them for you", she said handing them to him. A faint blush spread on her cheeks as their hands touched when he took the flowers. Silver was too busy trying to hide his own blush to notice, however.
"(y/n). . . I need to tell you something", he began.
"Huh? What is it, Silvy?" she asked, using her pet name for him. Normally he hated nicknames, but when (y/n) used them, it didn't seem so bad.
"I, um. . . I think I-"
"Oooh, look!" (y/n) said, pointing out the window. A shiny butterfree flew by, the setting sun lighting up its wings.
Silver took it as a sign of good luck. "I love you, (y/n)", he said quickly before he could talk himself out of it.
She didn't say anything for a while, just kept staring out the window. Silver's heart fell. Of course she didn't love him back. Why would she? "I'm sorry", he said, turning to leave.
(y/n) whispered something, but he didn't hear it. "What?" he asked.
He felt someone turn him around, and before he knew it, a set of warm, soft lips were on his own. (y/n) was kissing him.
After she pulled back, she leaned in close to his ear, her breath tickling his neck. "I said 'I love you too'. . . idiot."
Silver stared at her in shock. A smile slowly spread on his lips. (y/n) was one of the only people that he ever smiled for.
He set the flowers on a table, turning to (y/n) again. Without warning, she found herself against the wall, with Silver's lips on hers again. He had caged her in with his arms, pressing his body against hers. The two of them stayed like that for a long, long time.
(y/n) vowed never to leave Silver's side. . . and Silver vowed never to let her leave.
