Tester's Luck Ch 1

Just putting it out there, I'm not sure how I am going to be typing this, since of telepathic speaking (which I italicize) and normal. I'm open for suggestions, otherwise I will be typing it normally if a human illusion is up, and italicized if not.

Crap, crap... this person is sure determined... okay just a right here an-

Tripping down a small decline, I tumble about, until I reach the ground. Checking my google-like glasses on my forehead and start to run off again, still hearing my chaser and her friend.

Okay, just a little further... need another few turns... there it is.

Sliding into a bush, I slide down the hole I created when I arrived in the area for escapes, and dropping a handful of herbs from my knapsack. Digging through the labyrinth like network, I mentally remember how it is dug out so sight isn't too much of a problem.

Crawling out of one of the holes, I appear out of the hole that is next to a cliff, looking down at the surrounding forest. Taking a breather next to a tree, I see the trainer that was tracking me, with her Arcanine sniffing the vicinity for me.

Man this one is very determined. I take a deep breath, and rummaging through my knapsack for any food. Lucky for me, I happened to grab ten assortments of berries before that trainer found me. Little it is, but it's starting to get dark, it's sure getting harder and harder for me out here... wonder if I should just go into a city.

I head back to my den that is nearby, not really much but a hole on the side a small hill and fall asleep.

I don't know my past, other than waking up in that white room, nothing but me in a bed and metal trays next to me, and my glasses there too. Syringes, and knives lie on it, worst thing being, I was tied to the bed itself. After a little while, I hear someone coming into the room, and enters a man with a logo on his clothing, that I vaguely remember, the peculiar P in the middle, zigzag lightning bolt through it, and black one half, white the other. The man then walks over, picking up a syringe of serums of many colors and use it on me, then attaching machine parts all over me, muttering around the lines "The king will grant me everything!" And in the middle of it, or at least probably around there, he injects another, and I start to feel woozy, then I falling asleep.

Only to be woken up by the sounds of explosions, metallic bangs, screams filling the empty room. Looking around in my still dazed state, I find my glasses lying in front of me. Instinctively reaching out for it, I can't, my arms feeling much shorter than before. Looking down to see my arms, my head felt more wierd than usual, probably still too dazed.

Now looking at my hand... rather paw now, making me panic to my feet, but to no avail, since my legs didn't work as it usually does. Looking now at the rest of my body, the gray color, and crimson tipped paws, I thought I was dreaming. Both too bad and good to me then. Just putting the thoughts aside, I attempt to stand up, legs wobbling all over, until I got used to standing. Then walking slowly walking to my glasses, then putting the front side facing the ground, opening the temples and in an awkward way, faceplanting into them (my vision is terrible, though don't know why I knew it was mine). It worked, and lucky enough on my line of sight, wobbling over to where I presumed the door, it automatically slides open when I neared it.

But it wasn't me that opened it, the same scientist from before, looking down in a menacing manner at me. "Ah there you are my little prize, time for us to go!" he starts to reach down for me.

So I did what he least expected, ran right under him, tripping when I went through, but still scrambling to run. Knocking my glasses off, lucky to catch one of the sides in my mouth, and running through the blurry hallway. Somehow keeping a good distance even with me stumbling a whole lot. Before seeing three figures in front of me, one running on four legs, and two others on two legs. Knowing that it is an Absol, Braxen and another human. Problem being, it's a one way hallway... the mad scientist behind me and the three on front of me. Stopping in between, the scientist stops a distance away as well as the other three.

"Ah so seems like my little friend there has run away from me, mind if I have him back?"

"Julia, Allison, get that man. I'll get the Zorua." the other human, a female, commands.

"I guess you won't help, Gengar, Crobat, get my prize!"

With metallic pops of the Pokeballs, the two of the scientist's Pokemon advance to my direction. But to be countered by the two of the female's, working cooperatively and defeating the Pokemon.

"Julia, restrain," the female human commands, and the Braixen points her stick to the running scientist, and he is then lifted by a light purples glow around him.

"Allison, make sure nothing jumps on us. Now hey there little fella, I'm not going to hurt you," she opens her hands in a friendly manner, "Did you belong to him?"

I shake my head.

"Well, he was sure mad that you took his glasses then, right?"

"No, they're mine," I reply nervously, knowing that probably she wouldn't hear me.

"Ah, really now? I guess they took you because you are special?"

"Wait, you can hear me?"

"Well, if you didn't know before, then might have been what they did to you then. Hearing that you can use telepathy, one of the rare things that Pokemon can inherit. Now, come on, we'll take you to safety," she kindly addresses, still with open arms.

Taking hesitant steps, I finally convinced myself to have her take me. Glad I did, after escaping the underground facility, we went to her home in Twinleaf, Sinnoh. Spending my time there to learn the abilities I'm capable of, enjoying it greatly. Telling Alicia, the female human, my name, which I still remembered- Jackie.

About a week living with them, Alicia found out of my near sighted vision, she took my original glasses and the next day giving me a new one. It looked more like rectangular shaped goggles, wrapping it around my head, and then I was able to actually see better without worrying it would fall off.

Julia -the Braixen- being the more happier and active one, while Allison -the Absol- just lies around the house, head down in her arms, then Jacob -Alicia's adopted son. Surprisingly enough about a month with them, I happened to evolve; but having some effect of having my two spiked hair be a more cyan color than the regular gray. Then Jacob went rambling if he could go on his own adventure now, apparently he was fourteen and still didn't start his adventure. By that time, with me able to use illusions very well, I happened to instively, with out me know having an illusion up- a human, Alicia took notice and asked if I knew whom I was. Thing is, I really don't know, just know that I know the person. Then she came up with an idea; making me a trainer's ID card since as much as I wanted to stay with them, I wanted to live in the wild. So Alicia told me that if I ever get hungry I could use that to enter a Pokemon center and eat.

So they sent me to Pinwheel Forest, which I still live in, not seeing those four ever since I came here. Only thing I brought with me were a few rations of food, a small knapsack, and the ID card. That's pretty much it, lived here for over a year now, luckily not getting caught.

Sounds of the birds chirping, and small sunlight shining down my den awakens me. Giving a light stretch, I take a peek out, looking through the bush hiding my den, and see a bowl with food in the open.

"Better not be that girl... been chasing me for more than a day now," I mutter, crawling out, keeping an illusion up so that it looks as if I'm not even there.

Walking around quietly, I find her in a tree overlooking my den. Her Arcanine sitting under the tree sleeping, but still playing it safe, lurking where the wind doesn't blow to it.

"Seeing that she's still continuing to capture me... let's try this."

Throwing the illusion of my human form, I walk in her direction, as if lost. Making sure to make some noise through the shrubbery to grab her attention. But it didn't, instead, the Arcanine wakes up, and charges at me, fangs bared with fire.

"Woah!" I yell,

"Abbie! Down girl! It's another person!" I hear the girl command.

With the command from her trainer, she stops, but has an angered look.

"Gee, does she always charge at lost people?"

"No, sorry about that, and so is Abbie, aren't you?" the girl climbs down from the tree, petting Abbie.

"Yeah, I sure am, if he was a human," Abbie huffs, still glaring at me, and probably sounding like a regular bark to the girl.

"So you lost, right?"

"Yeah, went looking for this Zoroark I saw yesterday, found it weird with it's hair color.. but stole one of my knapsacks and glasses when I wasn't paying attention," I lie.

"Really? Well, I followed it here, it's in that den over there hidden by the bushes on that small hill there," she points.

"Did it leave yet? Well seeing you still here I presume it left earlier?"

"No, couldn't have, kept an eye on it ever since Abbie here found it last night," she glances back to the den.

"Have any bait?"

"Yeah, presuming I found it yesterday foraging for berries, I placed some Pokefood in front of it, over there."

"Since you're here, mind getting my glasses back and knapsack then. Since I really need to get back to a city and rest up. Also which way is Nacrene City? Or the way to Castelia City?"

"Well Nacrene is closer, which is that way," she points behind her, "Also, mind if I have your name, so I can find you a bit easier?"

"Thanks, and the name is Jackie."

"Jackie? Well nice to meet you, I'm Caitlyn and you already met Abbie."

"Just because she doesn't see it, doesn't mean that I can smell you," Abbie growls.

"Well, thanks again, and good luck if you can get that Zoroark," I smile, and start walking in the direction she pointed to.

Before making it a little further, I feel something tackling me, surprising me so much, I lost concentration to keep my illusion up.

"And stay down, you tricky fox," Abbie growls above me.

Well crap

"Abbie! You should've said something," Caitlyn exclaims, and from the sounds of it, scrambling in her back for a Pokeball.

"I did say something," Abbie pouts, but still practically sitting on me.

"Couldn't you be any more heavier," I mutter softly, but from the more weight applied, she heard it.

"Here it is!"

From the feeling of something hitting my head, I feel my body becoming nearly nothing, the weight lifted off of me. Holy crap it's a bit claustrophobic in here, and why is it so hard to struggle out? I didn't waste too much energy...

Before I know it, I hear a monotonous female voice echo about, "Capture successful, analyzing Pokemon... Moveset: Dig, Shadow Claw, Foul Play, Flamethrower..." Then a whole bunch of other boring analysis.

Next thing I know it, I'm back outside of the Pokeball, with all my possessions still on me thankfully. But not thankful for the fact Caitlyn hugging me to death.

"How did you so that! I never heard any Zoroark actually be able to communicate like that. Did you have a trainer before? Was that illusion someone you knew? Why is your hair there a light blue? Tell me! Tell me!" she squeals with joy, and looking at the Arcanine, she has a look of 'Yes this is what I go through.'

By the time Caitlyn settled down, she kept asking questions, not even bothering to take a breath. Which lead her to grow dizzy from lack of air, and just fainted right on the spot.

"So is she always like this?"

"No, just overly excited, I'm the only, the Pokemon with her since she was around two. We left to adventure Unova not too long ago, about a month ago I believe. And sorry about earlier, really didn't want her to go all crazy again for another hunt, getting tired of chasing Pokemon for days. Considering you are considered a bit more rare, and your hair, we would be out here for weeks for you. Though I am curious how you eluded me yesterday."

"Well, just used some herbs I found before, and placed it where I escaped. Though I'm suprised that not many other trainers came to get me, considering how long I have been here and escapes I made. So should we just wait for her to wake up or get help?"

"She'll be fine, just give her some time. Also do you know how to use human stuff? She hasn't fed me since yesterday. Though I'm curious where you got the goggles and knapsack.

"Uh yeah, I'll just get the bowl out there first, you two nearly made me drop all of my food yesterday. Also, I used to live with humans, but wanted to live in the wild. Plus I have vision problem, so they gave me these glasses, and knapsack to help carrying stuff."

After retrieving the bowl, and placing it down for Abbie, I rummage through Caitlyn's two bags, which looked as if everything was stuffed into it, and finally finding a can of Poke food. Never actually tried it before, since Alicia always made something more natural.

Taking a bite into the kibble like food, it doesn't taste that bad, nor too good, but still enjoyable to eat. Around finishing the can, I guess I unconsciously created the illusion of my human self, since Abbie looked funny at me.

"So who are you supposed to be?"

"Huh? Oh, just an Illusion I made, in case I planned to go to a human town."

"But what about ID then? Since they just don't give food to everyone."

"Also given to me by the humans that let me go out here," I look through my knapsack and show her my ID card.

"Huh, so you can use telepathy to help, and is your name even Jackie?"

"Yes it is. Though I'm a little nervous about her with me having things like this."

"Ehh you should be fine... after a while," she laughs.

"Uhh... Abbie, I think I had a dream that the Zoroark we found yesterday. Capturing it but cool thing about it, is that it can talk," Caitlyn moans softly, awakening.

Sitting up right now, she looks to us while we eat, her eyes opening in delight again, "So it wasn't! So can you really talk?"

"Yes..."

"Woah, how do you do that? Is it because of the illusion? Wait, no that isn't possible, so you have telepathy then, that's soooo cool! Where did you get the illusion from? Wait, I should slow down, don't want to faint again," she hyperventilates.

"Well yes, I do inherit telepathy... the illusion making it look like I talk from my mouth."

"So what so you have in here then?" she peeks into my knapsack, not giving a care to privacy, "Huh? A trainer ID card? Did you steal this? From the real Jackie?"

"No, it's mine, my name is Jackie. I was never born in this forest, had some help from other humans."

"So what about the glasses then? Do you always stay like that too? In a human illusion?"

"Not always, last time I really stayed like this was about a year ago. Just unconsciously made it appear. Also, I'm near sighted, a gift from the human that sent me here," I shrug, still eating my food.

"Well, if someone didn't say before, you look cute like that," she giggles.

"Uhh...thanks I guess."

"Well let's see what you know..." she puts a hand into her pants pocket, pulling out a Pokedex, "Wow, you have some diversity in your moveset... so just curious, do you know the way out of the forest? And do you have blue hair?"

"Wait, I thought you said you knew where to go earlier," I cough up some of the kibble, "And yes, I do, don't know why, but I do," I drop my illusion.

"Well, the general direction, of Nacrene and no clue to Castelia."

"Yeah, I do know the main road to Castelia, so how long have you and Abbie been out here?"

"Uhh, I think a week now?"

"Doesn't the Pokedex come with a navigation app or something?"

"Wow you're smarter than a normal Pokemon. But no, the professor that gave me this told me that she was out of the newer ones, and gave an older version."

"Huh, okay then, though you have seriously just traveled with Abbie? Beating the first two gyms, or just traveling the world?"

"You are really smart," she repeats, "but mainly traveling the world."

"Really, and I just happen to be your first capture?"

"Wellll, everyone I came across escaped from me..."

"Wonder why," I sarcastically say.

"Yeah, wonder why," she replies, making me do a facepaw, "What? Was it something I said?"

"Nothing, just a little tired."

"Yeah, now I have you that she can be pestering as much now," Abbie chuckles.

"Really, just to do that to me, Arceus you are evil."

"Anyways, if you want to make it to Castelia, I suggest we leave now."

"Okay! Abbie, can you carry the ba-" she turns around, seeing Abbie already running, "Well I guess you can carry my stuff for me."

Giving a heavy sigh, I pick up her bags along with mine, which isn't that heavy. But with her talking over and over, and randomly poking me after asking me to put on my illusion again, to see if my illusion would still stand, just got annoying. Soon enough, I see Abbie in the shrubbery away from sight to Caitlyn, with a mischievous smile. Funny enough, I do something else, creating an illusion behind her of Caitlyn behind her. I make the illusion tap her on the head, and when she turns, she freaks out, and run to us.

"Abbie! There you are!" Caitlyn running to her, and when Abbie starts to rise up again, Caitlyn hops onto her as if a Gogoat.

"Damn you," Abbie jeers at me.

"Oh, what am I supposed to do, can't you tell her that you don't enjoy it? Oh wait...." I mock, "So now regretting of stopping me now?"

"Not really, she'll be all over you by Castelia, since you can blend in with humans."

"Yeah, blend with humans. Though I'm curious why you stay with her, like a Mightyena to its alpha; its trainer."

"Well maybe I care for her."

"Whatever, both of us are on the same boat anyways. Soo... how naive can she be, like a Psyduck?" I muse.

"You think I would say something about that to my own trainer, my best friend for years?" she says, giving a pause, "Though she can be even more naive than a Psyduck, I do agree on that."

"That's what I thought," I chuckle.

"Hey! What are you two talking about? Or are you two getting to know each other?"

"The second one."

"So will you always stay like that, looking like a human?"

"Probably, don't want to be in that Pokeball to often."

"Well with your intelligence and looks, I guess you'll be fine."

We continue on through the forest, Caitlyn having to stop every once in awhile, saying she sees another Pokemon. Every time either Abbie and I stopping her from falling off or getting into more problems that can happen. Around sundown, we finally reach Skyarrow Bridge, the sounds of cars honking and moving about.

"Woah! This bridge is beautiful!" Caitlyn joyfully calls out, looking up at the bridge and over the edge from Abbie's back.

"Yeah, though we could've got here faster if you didn't go about running around..."

"So? At least we had some fun right?"

"Yeah, saving you every ten seconds," I mutter.

"No, more like every second," Abbie remarks.

"Yeah, that's more like it," I nod my head, "So can we head to the Pokemon center right away, I want some sleep."

"Okay, though I was looking forward to the famous ice cream that Castelia sells here..."

"They usually sell out at this time, you know"

"Aww, that sucks, well I guess we can just go the Pokemon center then." Caitlyn pouts, then muttering something else about tomorrow.

"So what are the rooms usually like, Abbie?"

"Depending on the Pokemon center, Usually just a couch, two or one beds and TV if you know what those are. Space wise, at least for me to lie down and then some."

"Doesn't seem too bad, and from the sounds of it she lets us stay out to sleep?"

"Yup, well at least until we reach the room sometimes."

"How long have you two been traveling?"

"Less than three months, we started in Nacrene, but she wanted to start from the very first town where the professor lives."

"Huh, and add that with her adventurous, and naivety habits, I guess it is about three months."

"Pretty much, can't wait till we eventually go to other regions. Hopefully we go to Kalos next, heard that they have wonderful Pokemon food there," she licks her chops.

We continue on talking about where we should go for the next region already, and entering the busy city. It takes us about an hour just to get into the Pokemon center, Caitlyn returning Abbie to her Pokeball due to the crowds, holding me by my claws; technically my 'hands' though.

Getting into the busy Pokemon center, Caitlyn gets a room key and we enter the somewhat small room, a window overlooking the docks, a bit more beautiful since of the setting sun glittering on the sea.

"Not too bad of a room." I drop Caitlyn's bags on the one bed, and hear the metallic pop of a Pokeball.

"Yeah, a bit more smaller than the other ones, but yeah nice," Caitlyn nods.

"Yeah, much smaller indeed," Abbie remarks.

"You two hungry?" Caitlyn asks, taking out some of her clothing and placing it on the bed.

Abbie and I nod our heads in agreement.

"Well, only problem I can see is with you, Jackie," she brings her left hand to her chin in a thinking gesture.

"It's a Pokemon center, so it wouldn't be too much of a problem."

"No, I mean the glasses."

"You humans some use them for those beauty contests and whatnot, so why not glasses to see?"

"Yeah, that makes sense, okay then let's go you two then."

Probably because it's in a populated city, but the cafeteria is packed with people and the relatively small sized Pokemon, the biggest being a Torterra surprisingly. Also dropping my illusion, since it would be weird for people seeing another person eat Pokemon food.

"Uhh, you two go and find somewhere to sit, I'll get the food," Caitlyn tells us and seemingly vanish into the crowd.

"I see a spot over there next to the windows over there," I suggest, pointing to one of the corners.

"Yeah, that seems enough space."

Walking over there is a bit hard, other than the overcrowded place, the people just look at us, well more specifically at me. Murmuring about me possibly being the Zoroark from Pinwheel. Not really giving a care, we reach the corner and wait for Caitlyn to come with the food. Pretty sure at least half an hour went by before Caitlyn got to us, the lines really long.

"Phew, that took a while, here you go," she places the bowl down for Abbie on the floor, and moves her tray of her food and mine onto the table.

"I think we should stay here for a few days. An Absol saying some thunderstorm happening tomorrow," I say between swallows.

"Well I guess we can just stay in the city go shopping or some inside attraction here then." Caitlyn mumbles, food in her mouth still.

"Maybe learn some manners while we are at it," Abbie sighs, shaking her head.

"Yeah, she sure could use them," I agree by shaking my head too.

"Hey Caitlyn! Surprising that you made it here," a male, around the same age of Caitlyn greets, tray in hand.

"Oh, hey Peter, I thought you would be further ahead."

"Yeah, but the Castelia gym is a bit harder than I thought, so I've been here for a few days now. And looks like you have a new friend," he looks at me.

"Nice to meet you too," I look away, resting my head on my claws, looking out the window.

"What's with you? She getting you crazy," he asks lowering his voice a little on the last part.

"Not really."

"Well anyways, mind if I sit here?"

"Sure, Peter, how about your own Pokemon as well? We have the space."

Great, she'll be here...

"Yeah, was going to, since I found you here with some space," he places the two trays he has onto the table, and grabs out three Pokeballs from his belt.

Popping out of it, is a Pignite, Pidove, and for Arceus' sake, a damn Luxray. Intentionally throwing up my illusion in the process of them being released.

"Alright, here you guys go," Peter takes the three bowls and places them on the ground for them, "Hey, where did he go, Caitlyn?"

"Yay! Finally we can eat!" exclaims his Pokemon.

"Huh? Oh, Jackie? He's right here," Caitlyn nudges me, while I give an explosive sigh.

"That's cool, at least you two can be together at all times, considering your clumsiness."

"Hey! I'm not clumsy," she retorts back, "just easily distracted, okay?"

"Whatever."

Half way down with my dinner, the Luxray looks up from her bowl, not entirely finished, and nose points to the air. As if she noticed something funny... no familiar in the air. Following what her nose smells, she walks up to me, where I sit in a chair across from the two humans.

"You smell familiar," she looks up at me, and I smile back, petting her as if I didn't understand her.

"Well, aren't you some Luxray?" I say with a more surprising tone, than what I really wanted to.

"Oh never mind, you're just another human," she walks back to her bowl and eats her food.

Continuing to eat my food, I get shoved by something from my right, falling down next to the Luxray.

"Yeah, nice try Abbie," I sigh, getting up and putting the chair back upright.

"Well, maybe you should be more like yourself then," she sits right next to me, a smirk on her face.

"Jackie? You alright?" Caitlyn asks a bit worriedly.

"Yes, I am," I reply, and hit Abbie on the head, getting a small pissed off growl, and small shove.

Giving up on our little fight, she walks over to Peter's Pokemon to talk with.

"Nice to see you again, you guys."

"Nice to see you too, Abbie," the Pignite replies.

"Still the only one? I feel sorry for you, pity that Caitlyn really can't capture anyone," the Pidove says.

"No, we did manage to get one earlier," Abbie smiles, taking a short and quick glance at me, "And he happens to be that human right there."

"No, can't be, he just acts like a normal human, not able to hear us," the Luxray remarks.

"No, he is one, just too shy... no that isn't right, he's too scared to show his real self."

"So he's a Ditto then?" the Pidove guesses.

"No, we found him in Pinwheel Forest, and apparently, the one that everyone wants once he was found there."

"Wait, you mean that Zoroark that lives there? No way, with how long that Pokemon has been able to elude many Pokemon, and humans, you two wouldn't be able to," the Pignite chuckles.

"Natalia, you believe me?" she looks to the Luxray.

"Well... he does smell like the Zoroark I met when we were in Pinwheel forest," Natalia tilts her head, in a pondering gesture.

"Well, I say you should give him a shock," Abbie suggests mischievously.

"But, he's a human..."

"Aww, don't worry, if he is a real one, I'll take the blame for it."

"O-okay, you better be right, Abbie..."

Well crap, damn that Arcanine.

Charging up, she walks over to me, and nuzzles me, giving me a very, very painful shock and making me fall to the ground. From the sounds Natalia nuzzling me more, and missing me, my illusion wore off.

"You meanie! Thinking you could hide from me? You could've come with us, but you left before I could wake Peter up!"

"Yeah, nice to see you too, Netalia," I cough, not able to move my body at all.

"Netalia! Why did you do that?" Peter scolds.

"Yeah, next time you visit a forest, get someone other than Netalia to guard. Would really be beneficial to those who are or were living there."

"Wait, so you happen to know Natalia?"

"Know her? She wanted me to come with you when you slept in Pinwheel. She found me walking to my den."

"So I'm guessing this is yours then," Peter picks at his pocket, bringing out a claw that is attached to string.

"Yes, yes it is." I try snatch back my quick claw.

"So you were the one to make her wake me up in Pinwheel," he chuckles.

"Yeah, can you help out now?"

"Netalia, off him, discuss with him normally."

"Fine," she pouts, still rambling about me leaving her, but getting off of me.

When she gets off, the paralysis as wears off thankfully, and I take my seat. Also taking back Quick Claw from Peter.

"So, why didn't you come with me?" Natalia asks, nudging me constantly.

"I already told you, I didn't want to go."

"Yeah, but you let her catch you."

"Yeah, because of that bastard being so lonely," I motion my head to Abbie.

"Hey!" Abbie growls back.

"Not my fault, Abbie."

"How dare you say that," she yells, and I swear I saw a wink with her head moving all over the place.

"Yeah! You left me too! If you came with me, you wouldn't have this problem!" Netalia starts up too.

Oh, this is what they were going for.

Giving a sigh, I wait for the two trainers to take notice of the rambling of Pokemon to me.

"Umm... excuse me?" a young boy, probably starting his own adventure shyly asks.

"Huh? Oh, hey there, is there something you want?" Peter replies.

"Well I-I see that you have an Arcanine... mind if I pet it?"

"Sure! Abbie wouldn't mind, don't you?" Caitlyn speaks up.

"Thank you!" the boy shouts happily.

Running over to Abbie, Natalia, and me, he heads to Abbie, holding a shaking hand out to her. Instead of waiting for him to move, Abbie moves her head to the hand. Making the child laugh, and giggle, continuing to pet her. Soon enough, Natalia walks up next to them, head tilted in a begging manner.

"Woah! A Luxray!"

"Natalia, be nice," Peter states, receiving a friendly bark.

"Yeah, only if you can do this to others as well..." I muse aloud.

"Hey, he's a young fellow, and not a Pokemon, unlike you however," Abbie jeers back.

"You sure?"

"Yeah, he's standing here, petting us like any curious young human would," Natalia replies.

"Yeah, have fun making friends with a non existent being right now," I simply say back.

A few seconds later, Abbie and Natalia give a surprised yelp, turning around I see why. The boy, rather more monster now, has a head of a Caterpie. Continuing to pet the two as if nothing has changed.

"Woah! Natalia, shock it!"

Agreeing with her friend, she shocks it... along with Abbie, which makes it even funnier.

I start to laugh so much my stomach hurting and nearly off the chair. What's left is no trace of the boy, and Abbie's fur sticking up all over.

Gasping, Natalia see what she did, "Abbie! I-I'm sorry!"

"I-it's fine, just the shock," Abbie coughs.

"The hell was that thing?" Peter asks.

"Technically no one."

"And what's so funny, Jack- Oh, never mind," Peter laughs himself.

"What? What's funny, Peter?" Caitlyn asks, still looking confused as ever.

"You still haven't caught on, Cait? Think about it for a moment.'

"He's right here," I release the illusion on the boy, where he stands next to me.

"That was awesome!"

"Glad you liked it," then dropping to a whisper, "Though I feel like I may not, go on now to your friends or family."

"Thank you!" he waves back, running off into the crowd.

"I still don't get it."

"Really, I know that Zoroarks are uncommon, rare sometimes, but it's a bit obvious."

Caitlyn still looks to Peter and me, still confused.

"The one with the Caterpie was an illusion of mine, the real boy was right next to me."

"Ohhhh that makes sense now, I guess I really have to get used to that."

"Well I'll see you three later. I'm going down to the battle arenas for a while."

"Umm Peter?"

"Yeah," he answers turning back.

"You think we can go together? Not to the battling arenas, but to explore the world?"

"Sure, I guess having another person around would be nice. See ya tomorrow morning in the front then."

"Thank you Peter!"
