Giovanni's POV

I was unstoppable. My plan was perfect, it was like I could predict the future. But was it completely my plan ? No. It was the masked man who helped me, and I had a fair idea of his true identity.

Archer and Ariana had been ordered to fight alongside Red and his group. The portal connecting the two universes wouldn't last long and close due to power outage. I knew Team Rocket of the other world would eventually come but didn't know they would have such ridiculous plans. I also knew what I had to do - get rid of my doppelgänger, or I could just spare him if he did not show up.

I quickly dialed the masked man's number and called. He picked up the phone within seconds.

"Giovanni." He said with a warm voice. "Why did you call ? I told you not to."

"I had a question." In an angry tone. "Why would you do that to Ben ? That kid's father."

"Why are you asking this now ?"

"Because now I think we did wrong. If he was here, he would be of great help."

The man intentionally spoke with heavy voice. "No. He's better over there. I don't have to tell you everything."

"Well now, you have to. Or else I'm not working with you. I own Team Rocket. I can simply kick you out, abandon you, where else would you go ?" I said, with an evil chuckle.

"Then who's stopping you ? I am the one who helped you with this grand plan of yours. I am the one who saved you by giving you the idea of Rainbow Rocket. And now, I'll be the one who's gonna help you with this other Team Rocket, from the alternate universe." He commanded.

"Let's see. I've sent two officers to fight alongside Red's group against the other Team Rocket. I hope you'll do something."

"Yes. I'll shut down the link between the worlds, trapping Team Rocket here. They wouldn't have any other option but to surrender themselves to Interpol. I'll try to keep Interpol away from this. You can do anything with those grunts afterwards."

"Hope this pans out perfectly." I said, hanging up the phone call.

Red's POV
[Pokémon Leaf Chronicles]

Here it was, Goldenrod City, the biggest city in all of Johto. To my left stood Leaf and Lyra, Lyra was trying to control her Marill from jumping shoulder to shoulder. Leaf, like always, radiated confidence. To my right were the two Yellows. I can't really tell them apart by seeing their face, but their clothes were different, so it was easier.

"Over there". Said Leaf, pointing at the longest building in the city. "That's radio tower."

All of us ran towards the tower without wasting another second. We had reached the main entrance that was unguarded. There were things I was worried about of course this place was not lit well from the inside. Either the power ran out or Blue couldn't hold Solress any longer due to the connection from the sky being severed. And both factors were equally likely. Unfortunately, I had to trust Blue with this one, but like the other me said - maybe Blue was a good person after all and did not think negatively about me. For now, I knew he was helping and that's the only thing that mattered.

The only thing I wanted was, to stop Team Rocket and go back to my world. Of course, I wanted to know more about the other me, but I was sure about one thing - there was no universe in which a Red like myself did not like Leaf, she was in top form today and was poised to take on Team Rocket at all costs. There were also others that I didn't want to risk losing.

"What if Red and Bugsy needed help ?" I inquired. "I am going back for them."

"And they will". Said Proton. The Executive pounced nefariously towards us with four grunts behind him. "My men will take care of them, I promise. Right Petrel ?"

Petrel giggled. 

Proton gave Petrel a disappointed look. "You were supposed to say - right !" Whispered Proton.

"Right !" Said Petrel, loudly. "We promise they will take care of your friends. But who will take care of you ?"

"Who ?". Asked Proton. 

"Us." Said Petrel. "Hahahaha."

Suddenly, a voice was heard. "Prepare for trouble." Everyone turned towards the two uninvited Rocket's making their grand entrance.

"And make it double".

"Cassidy ? And Butch ?" Asked Lyra. "You two again ?"

"Red ! And the old girl Leaf ! Finally, we'll be able to destroy you both." Said Cassidy. "For so long we waited but now we have orders."

"You want to destroy them ? Do it." Said another voice as everyone then turned towards the pair of uninvited Rainbow Rocket's that floated down from the tower above.

"But you have to kill us first." Said Archer as he landed towards Cassidy and Butch. Ariana pulled out a Pokéball from her belt, ready to strike.

"Now who are you guys ?" Asked Proton, reluctantly.

"Sent by Charles." Winked Butch. "And those are the good guys."

"Good Team Rocket ? That's new." Said Petrel. "Just shut up. Go Mewtwo !" 

Petrel pointed towards us and the Mewtwo hovered forward above us, still having the hi-tech helmet on its head. The other Yellow pulled out a Pokéball. 

"Orchid-" Shouted Yellow. The Pokéball shone purple and levitated away to Team Rocket.

"Oh no. Mewtwo is using it's psychic powers." Said Lyra, putting Marill back into its Pokéball.

Leaf slowly placed her hand on her belt. She wanted so badly to release her Pokémon but who could blame her, we all wanted a battle, but we had no chance of winning since Orchid was with Team Rocket their power level's in comparison to our Pokémon we possessed were no match for these beasts.

"No-no-no." Said Proton. "Don't even try. Let us take what we came for and no one gets hurt and trust me, we are not taking your stupid Mewtwo anywhere."

Suddenly, while each of us were focused on the Mewtwo airborne pulling the Pokeball toward him using telekinesis. We were surprised that our Team Rocket heroes were captured so swiftly. Archer and Ariana fell on their knees with their limbs tied in ropes. Cassidy and Butch were grinning with delight as they tied their knots around their hands with swift violent infringement.

"Excellent." Said Petrel, giggling maniacally. "These two are coming with us."

"Mewtwo. Do it." Ordered Proton with a wide psychotic grin.

Mewtwo unlocked Orchid's Pokéball. Releasing his form out but Orchid was unable to move as our Mewtwo used its psychic ability.

"No !" Exclaimed Yellow, unable to do a thing.

The skin on Orchid's hand began to shred. Orchid seemed to be in pain but couldn't fight back. The small piece of flesh snapped off, leaving a wound. Orchid fell toward the ground, laying their in an unconscious state as the Mewtwo of our world used his Psychic powers to sap the life out of theirs.

"We got the sample !" Said Petrel, clapping.

"Take these rainbows upstairs. You know what to do with them." Said Proton. "Also take Mewtwo for backup."

"Yes sir !" Said a Team Rocket Grunt. They went inside the Radio Tower. Petrel and Proton were still standing in front of us along with Cassidy and Butch.

"Now. You're coming with us." Said Cassidy.

"We are not going anywhere." Said Leaf with an enraged tone. 

"Your two friends are with us. Red and Bugsy, you are outnumbered, and you got nowhere else to go." Said Cassidy with a mocking smile. "Get in the van."

Red's POV

I sat in the corner of a prison cell. Bugsy was in the cell opposite to mine and there was no way we could get out. Our Pokéballs were kept in a container just outside our cell but were out of our reach. I tried a several times to reach them but couldn't.

"We can't get out." Said Bugsy. "Even if we get out of the cell. This is a Team Rocket Hideout. We wouldn't be able to make it to the exit."

Bugsy was right. Even if we somehow got out of the cell, there was no way we'll be able to find the exit. But we can't just sit and wait. We gotta do something quick.

Think Red, think - I told myself. You can't lose to Team Rocket. If I could just reach any of those Pokéballs.

"Stop it." Said Bugsy. "I told you it's useless."

"Bugsy, we need to get out of here. God knows what's going on out there, what if those three didn't make it back ?"

"You just care about Leaf." Said Bugsy casually. "Don't you ? Now for Arceus' sake stop speaking."

"Why ? Do I irritate you now ?" I asked. "You know your mind has been bugged, Bugsy."

"Red, shut your mouth. I'm trying to think."

"Think what ?"

"Do you wanna get outta here or not ? Don't be such a dork." Bugsy removed his belt and broke the buckle from one side.

"Well, if you've figured a way out. Let me out with ya." Said a very familiar voice. 

I looked around but no one was to be seen. Bugsy shook head in disagreement, he couldn't see anyone either. Suddenly, a man walked forward from the darkness of the cell next to Bugsy's. His face was covered by half of the light above the ceiling, and he remained hidden from his cloaked hoodie. He removed his face mask along with the hood off his head.

"Looker !" I exclaimed. "What are you-"

"Just let me out of here. Then I'll be coming with my officers back here to arrest Petrel and Proton, got it ?" Said Looker with seriousness.

"You skipped the part where you help us escape this base." Said Bugsy.

"That too." Said Looker. 

Bugsy held his belt from one end and used the buckle part as a hook, throwing it towards the basket placed on a stool where our Pokéballs were kept.

The half-broken buckle stuck onto the stool's leg and Bugsy pulled it towards himself making the stool fall on the ground as well as our Pokéballs.

"That was genius." I said. I stretched my arm out of the cell bars to grab hold any of the balls. One of them rolled towards me, I tried harder to reach it, but it touched the tip of my fingers and rolled away.

"I got it." Said Bugsy, grabbing three of the Pokéballs. "Go Pokémon."

Kabutops, Scyther and Ditto came out. "Wow, perfect combo." Said Looker. "Ask Kabutops and Scyther to slash the cell bars, and Ditto can transform into some Team Rocket Grunt."

As for Looker's intelligence was concerned, he seemed to understand our battle strategy. Bugsy was smarter, I wondered if he applied for some government agency that he would be accepted for his role in all of this. Hacker, Gym Leader, bug catcher, one with tact and genius utility. I always thought he would make a great International Police Agent like Looker.

"Scyther use Slash." Said Bugsy. The cell bars broke in half and the four came out. Kabutops slashed open my cell while Ditto transformed into Kabutops, slashing open Looker's cell at the same time.

"Thank you." Said Looker covering his face again. "Ight imma head out." He said while running towards the nearest door outside.

"What-" Asked Bugsy. "Never mind, follow him, come back Scyther." He shouted nonchalant while picking up random Pokéballs and quickly fastening them together onto his belt.

"Yeah. Come back Kabutops." I said while hooking five Pokéballs onto my belt. Following after Bugsy in the process. "Ditto, transform into any person."

Ditto transformed into Leaf. Bugsy chuckled with delight after seeing the derp slant look across her face. I of course didn't mind, it reminded me of her while we raced toward the door and slammed it open from the outside. 

"Whoa. It's not a base ?" Asked Bugsy. "It's a game corner." 

"I'm not surprised. Kanto had the same idea. Team Rocket Base in a game corner, where there's gambling, there's corruption." I said. "Where is Looker ?" 

"I think he ran away ?" Said Ditto-Leaf. "This body is so comfortable."

"Oh god, shut up." Said Bugsy. "Red call him back."

"No don't. I want to stay outside." Said Ditto-Leaf. "Please. I won't be a problem."

"This is stupid. First, he's outside. Second, he's Leaf." Said Bugsy.

"I think the priority is stopping Team Rocket from infiltrating our Earth." I said, pacing my way outside the Game Corner. Bugsy and Ditto-Leaf followed suit.

The escape felt almost too simple as if it was pre-planned. I was totally fine with the easy escape but I had a bad feeling about it.

In front of the game corner was a two-lane road and I could see a gray van coming our way. Bugsy jumped onto the footpath and gestured his thumb as if hitchhiking for a lift.

The van stopped right in front of us and the door opened, Petrel hopped out.

"You two managed to get out." He said. "But you're going back in."

"Why are you doing this ?" Asked Bugsy. "What are you gaining out of this ?"

"Money, I guess."

"Yeah, but except for that. You've probably got a family, just imagine what will be their future."

"Kid, these talks wouldn't affect me." Said Petrel. "No one has the power to change my opinions."

"Petrel, stop talking and get the kids." Said Proton, sitting in the passenger seat of the van.

"Yeah, right." Said Petrel, about to grab my arm.

"No you won't." I said. "Go Hitmonlee."

I threw the Pokéball on the ground and a Pokémon came out. This one was not Hitmonlee, of course.

"Oops, that's Ariados." Said Bugsy. "I think we picked up the wrong Pokéballs."

"Okay. Tell it to do something." I asked Bugsy.

"Wait, Ditto ? Check the van for Leaf and the others." Said Bugsy.

Ditto transformed from Leaf to Petrel. He walked slowly to the back of the van and opened the doors revealing our friends, tied helplessly in ropes.

Bugsy looked at Yellow tied up along with everyone else. She was crying longingly and from his observation she was defeated in battle. Orchid had lost and Proton and Petrel succeeded in getting to her. Bugsy was not happy to see her in this state and faced Petrel with anger. "Ariados, string shot."

Petrel was tied in string within seconds. Proton walked out of the van with a Pokéball in his hand. He set the collar of his shirt while walking. His personality was almost opposite to Petrel's. He carried an attitude with him, the bad kind. But he didn't look like he was angry, more stoic and focused.

"Petrel, you disgust me." Said Proton, casually. "You need a battle, huh ?"

"Yes I do !" Said Bugsy, raging. I looked at Ditto, who was slowly untying the ropes, freeing our friends.

"Then, have fun with the battle." Smirked Proton. Suddenly, a purple light was seen blossoming open and hovering above the Radio Tower.

"It's Mewtwo !" Exclaimed Yellow.

I was scared. I almost forgot they too had a Mewtwo but ours was stronger. I had seen Orchid face off against him. We could easily defeat it, once and for all if he's recovered.

"Yellow, send Orchid." I ordered.

Yellow sobbed. "We don't have him."

"What ?!" I snapped. My heart began to sink toward my stomach. This was worse than I was expecting, no wonder she was so terribly upset. "Where is he ?"

"Cassidy and Butch has him." Said Lyra.

No. We didn't have Orchid, so we can't defeat their Mewtwo. None of our Pokémon had the potential to defeat a Mewtwo of this flagrant power. If only we had some secret weapon. My Articuno was with Team Rocket, whom I had to rescue, but where was he. I really wished if I had Articuno, we could win this.

Suddenly, I heard a bird cry out in the distance. I turned my head towards the direction from where it came. A white shining Pokémon flew towards us in the moonlight. I was so happy to see him.

"Articuno ?". I inquired with ecstatic emotion. Proton's expressions went blank. Everyone looked at the legendary bird flying towards us.

I couldn't see him clearly, but I was sure that Articuno was here, here to save us. Suddenly, Proton cackled at us, like we were pathetic and stupid for making such an asinine assumption. His cackling proved right.

"That's not Articuno." He stated. I looked back again toward the Pokémon to get a better view. It was a Fearow at least, what I thought was Articuno would be our saving grace. There was no Pokémon to challenge them. I had begun to lose all hope. How are we supposed to defeat him now?

"Red !" Said a voice, as the Fearow approached the van within speaking proximity. Someone was riding it. "Red !"

"Bill ?" Asked Leaf. "That's Bill right ?"

"Yeah." I answered with a confused look. "But what is he doing here ?"

The Fearow slowed to a halt. Flapping its wings simultaneously as the beast had rested his talons gently toward the ground. He then had leaped off his flying type Pokémon to greet us with a peculiar package.

"Professor Oak asked me to deliver this." Said Bill. "I'm not sure what it is. He said something bad was about to happen here in Goldenrod."

"Bill, now is not the time." I said. "What is it ?"

"Like I said. I don't know." Said Bill. "Just check what it is. You'll know what it's for."

Bill handed me the small but very familiar box that I had not seen for a long time. I was happy, no, more than elated. We could finally defeat Mewtwo now! My excitement surprised the others. Proton peeked; he too was curious to know what was inside as I slowly opened the box. I could tell by just looking at it. That I had what I needed.

"Guys, we have a chance." I said. "Go Charizard." 

I threw Charizard's Pokéball and luckily, Charizard came out. He looked at me, then at my doppelgänger, confused.

"........."

"My Charmander will become that ?" Asked my rather silent copy with a quirk.

"Yes indeed." I said, I opened the box, revealing the Mega Stone and the Key Stone. "Remember this trick ? Let's do it again."

Mewtwo could be seen flying towards us at a slow speed. He looked tired from the battle he had before, therefore we had a bit of an edge. Clasping the stone in my hand and held the key stone tightly within my fist. While handing the larger orb to Charizard across from me.

Both the stones started shining like a glistening light was about to subdue several buildings around us. Charizard had absorbed the Mega Stone while the Key Stone was still in my hand.

The mighty lizard changed its colors. The flame on his tail turned blue. His skin was now black with some parts glowing all around him. The wings became larger, the shoulders grew tusks and a large blue flame exhaled from his mouth. Stunning every onlooker that had witnessed his transformation, even Team Rocket themselves were taken a back.

"What's happening ?" Asked Proton. I smiled back at him with a confident grin.

"Mega Evolution." I replied.
