Synopsis:

Newbie Trainer Leaf had obtained her Pokémon license and left on her Pokémon journey with her mother's permission. Arriving at Professor Oaks lab she discovered that her childhood friends, Red and Blue have left on their respective journeys. After obtaining Bulbasaur; she faces her greatest fear yet. Who was this mysterious legendary Pokémon and who did it belong too? Why is Leaf so terrified of birds? She meets with a young boy with a straw hat named Amirillo and they continue on their respective adventure toward a town called Pewter City. Where she faces her greatest challenge yet!

"Writing this book was a challenge that I needed. I am in the process of writing my own original work. This fan-fiction was a refresher for me. I first had the idea of making a retelling of the Poke-Special manga story arch ever since I started working on the book. Leaf was always a mysterious character to me. And I wanted to explore her character in my own fictional scenario of that Pokémon world. You can feel her mystery even more when playing through the games of Pokémon LeafGreen and FireRed. Because we never really had a good glimpse at a playable female character in the original Red and Blue games."

"I fell in love with the manga when I first arrived in college. Her character was amazing. Always confident, with spunk and notoriety, especially while being a thief in the Region of Kanto. Despite her being a scheming brat in the manga though her backstory was amazingly complex. It was the whole reason why I wanted to write a story about her as a protagonist. I don't know if I'll ever do the manga writers justice with her character. However, I wanted to use those same plot elements and intertwine them with the games."

"The reason for doing that was for her as a protagonist to be likable. She needed to have a timid personality. This provided her with a sense of vulnerability. Which opened up more conflict for her character and more emotions in dealing with the issues she comes to face within the story. With more vulnerability in my opinion, opens up more possibilities for her character to grow and progress forward as the Pokémon Trainer she is."

"Yes, she is very Tsundere in her approach and is a little shy and distrusting due to her horrible backstory in this world I created for her. Which makes her different from her manga counterpart. She loves her Pokémon and the friends she has had along the way and honestly, what's not to like about her?"
