Chapter 26

My Point of View

Itachi just stared as the man bowed before him. His waist-long blonde hair was pulled up into a higher ponytail than his was. And those eyes. They were also a blue color. But they weren't as bright and vibrant as Naruto's though. It didn't mean they weren't gorgeous though. It truly was a lovely combination. His skin tone is what bothered him though. It wasn't as pale as a vampires was. So did this mean he was still human? He closed his eyes and focused on one thing in particular. And that was his heart.

Which was beating away...

So his parents were trying to set him up with someone who was still living? Well this was going to be interesting. But he was willing to give this guy a chance. "What's your name?"

The blonde straightened his posture to look right back at him. "I'm Deidara, mm!"

The Uchiha raised an eyebrow at him. He didn't seem like a bad person. And he wasn't getting any strange vibes from him either. Maybe this really was going to be okay. "Hn. It's a pleasure to meet you, Deidara. How do you know my parents?" he curiously asked.

Deidara sat back down at the table and picked up his cup of coffee, taking a small sip of it. "I deliver packages. I don't know, your mother just seemed to take a liking in me I guess? She asked if I was single, and if I would be interested in giving her son a shot. So...here I am." He didn't expect her son to be so handsome though. Now he was really glad he took her up on the offer.

"So that's how..." Itachi muttered to himself.

"...Aren't you going to order something to drink?" Deidara asked.

"..." It looked like he really didn't know what he was. Well this was going to be a bit difficult. Pulling out the chair across from him, he sat down as well and grabbed a nearby menu. "I feel a bit over dressed." he chuckled.

"Just a little, mm!" Deidara also chuckled. He himself just wore a pair of dark blue faded out jeans along with a black hoodie. "But I know you come from money. So I was kind of expecting you to be all dulled up." he winked.

"Dulled up?" Itachi looked down at himself. This was something he usually wore, so he was pretty use to it. At first the suits were uncomfortable. But now he barely even noticed the feel of them. But when he looked back up, his face was just mere inches away from Deidara's. "...!"

"Admiring yourself?" he teased, grinning rather deviously at him. "I guess I don't blame you there. But that should be my job."

Itachi didn't know what to say at first. He wasn't use to being this close to anyone anymore. With Shisui it was so easy to be himself. But could he be that way towards this guy? "Are you admiring me then?" he smirked right back at him.

But Deidara seemed a bit distracted by something else. "You have interesting teeth..." he mumbled.

"...So you're admiring my teeth then?" Itachi asked. He ran his tongue over them and stopped once he reached his fangs.

"Mm! And what if I was? Although it helps that you have a pretty face to go along with them..." Deidara smirked even more.

"Please. A pretty face?" the Uchiha scoffed. It was always well known that he had good looks. Not only him, but all of the other members of his clan as well. But some of them have been used not only for their appearance, but for their money as well. So they all had to be very careful when dating someone. Or being friends with someone. It was hard to trust people most of the time.

"I'm no liar, Itachi." he said deeply.

"I would hope not." the other sighed, looking back down at the menu. What was he supposed to get? "Is it...alright if I skip on the coffee? I'm trying to cut back on my caffeine."

"You look so tired though, mm!" Deidara though, was fully unaware of the real reason behind his sleepy looking face. He has never been much of a believer. He didn't believe in ghosts or aliens. Didn't believe in mermaids or more importantly...vampires. The only way to make him a believer was to show him proof.

Itachi touched his face, letting it just linger there for a while as he was deep in thought. If his date so much as touched his skin, he would be in trouble. Some difficult questions would be asked. And he would have to seriously think about either telling him the truth, or tell him a lie and never see him again.

Dating a human was definitely risky. They could slip up at any moment and reveal the very existence of vampires, which could become extremely dangerous. Usually they stuck to their own kind, and only chose humans when they wanted to reproduce. But once they had their right amount of children and the mother didn't want to be turned into one of them, she was usually killed off. And it's been this way for many many years. Those rules didn't apply as much anymore since things have been changing little by little.

"Your mother said you have a younger brother. How does it feel knowing that you're going to be an uncle soon?" Deidara asked.

Itachi's expression softened as he thought of his younger brother and husband. How his tummy swelled so much more with each passing month. "I feel excited and sort of anxious to meet them."

"Are you good with kids? Sorry to disappoint you, but even though I look like a chick, I'm not actually one." he joked.

Itachi looked him up and down. "Really? I wouldn't have noticed." Sure he had long hair. Much longer than his. But he definitely didn't have a female's body or voice, that was for sure.

"I was thinking of getting a haircut. I wouldn't mind having it up to my shoulders. It's a huge turn off to other guys, mm!" he nodded, combing his fingers through the long blonde locks.

"...I think you look fine with it. You shouldn't change your appearance to please others..." the raven shrugged.

Said blonde looked at him with tear-filled eyes. "You...y-you really think so, Itachi?" he quietly asked. He's always gotten picked on for it. People even called him a tranny at times if they couldn't see his face or body properly. And oh did that piss him off to no end!

A smile slowly spread on his lips. "Hn. I'm no liar either."

Naruto lay in bed shivering underneath a thick layer of blankets. He was curled up into a ball as much as his stomach would allow, trying to keep in what body head he had left. "You should eat..." he rasped, licking at his dry lips. His husband's skin was paler than usual.

Sasuke was just sitting there, gazing down at him with a strange look on his face. He had to admit...his throat burned quite a bit. He hasn't eaten in a while and needed to immediately. "I'm not leaving your side." he mumbled.

"O-oh Sasuke. Just grab yourself a glass and come back up here. I'll be fine in that short amount of time..." he frowned.

"And what if something happens in that short amount of time? I'll be fine for a little while longer." he sighed.

But Naruto wasn't happy with his response. "Urgh you can be so impossible sometimes. Go quench your thirst. You look so uncomfortable right now..." He then grabbed his hand and kissed it. "You stayed by my side all day and took care of me, and I feel very thankful for it. But now you need to take care of yourself..."

"..." He inched forward to softly kiss him; his hand coming down to stroke his belly. Their babies weren't being very active right now, which was probably a plus for Naruto since he really needed to get some rest. "I'll be right back then..."

"I know you will." Naruto smiled.

Sasuke cupped his face in his hands and kissed at both of his cheeks a few times, and then his forehead, before finishing off with his lips yet again. "I love you..." he murmured into his ear.

"Pffft. You're acting as though I'm going to die, or you are for that matter. It's only a quick trip to the kitchen..." he snickered. "But I love you too...~"

"Hn. You dork..." Sasuke smirked, before standing up and going over to the door. He looked back at him one more time before stepping out and closing it behind him. Not once did he think of taking care of himself today. He was focused on more important things. Or more exactly, people. His tongue ran across his bottom lip as he inhaled deeply, making his way down the winding staircase.

"You look awful." He heard a voice say. His head whipped to the side to see who it was. But of course he recognized that oh so familiar voice.

"Hn. How was your little date?" he shot back at him with a smirk.

Itachi just smiled innocently at him. "My date went fine. I even asked him out on a second one here this weekend."

"So it is a guy." Sasuke said, poking him in the side.

This caused him to flinch only a little. "You know my sexual orientation. I like both men and women, foolish brother..." and with that, he poked him in the forehead.

"M-must you always do that?" he pouted, rubbing at it. But then he got serious. "So...what's his name?"

The older Uchiha fell silent for a minute as he looked away. "His name is Deidara and he's also a blonde. But...he's also human..." he said quietly.

Sasuke's eyes widened. "A human? It looks like mom and dad both wanted us to be with similar people. But can yours bare children?"

He shook his head. "I doubt it. He has no demon residing inside of him. He's just a normal person. But I don't need to reproduce. That's your job." he winked.

"Hn. You got me there..." But still. Itachi would make a terrific father! He had the right personality for it. He was always such a loving, generous, and caring person. He would give his children so much.

Itachi unbuttoned his jacket and loosened his tie. "He doesn't know of our existence. I had to tell him I was cutting back on caffeine. But he is interested in my amazing teeth..." he sighed.

"Tch. He doesn't know you're a vampire? That's going to be a tough one. You should probably tell him on your second date this weekend. It would be bad if your relationship started out with secrets like that. He should know what he's getting himself into..." Sasuke muttered.

His younger brother was right. Deidara was going to find out about his true identity eventually. And once he does, he was either going to flip shit or be amazed. Either way, Itachi had to do the right thing and tell him the truth. That he was in fact, dating a vampire. Someone who is dead, yet is still moving about freely. Might as well do it before the guy fell in love with him. Then it would be even worse! But it wasn't easy telling people about them. Most people don't accept it.

Itachi urged a small smile at him. "I'll have a talk with him about it." The really bad thing about telling people is that...if that person planned on telling people or already did, they would have to be killed immediately. And he didn't want to have to be put in such a position.

Sasuke made his way into the kitchen and ripped open a package of blood, pouring it into a tall glass. He closed his eyes and tilted his head back, chugging it as fast as he could. If only he could have fresh blood! Now that would really quench his thirst. Not that this stuff was horrible or anything. But it wasn't the best either.

"So...how is poor Naruto feeling? Has he gotten any better?" Itachi sat down at the kitchen table, looking up at him.

"..." Sasuke grabbed another glass and poured his brother out some, setting it down on the table in front of him. He was probably hungry as well. Especially being around a human for that long. "He's still pretty sick. Instead of being really hot, he's now cold. No matter how many blankets I put on him it's just not enough. He's just shivering away. And now I can't even touch him..."

"Are the babies okay at least?" he asked.

"Ah..." His eyes softened quite a bit. "They're doing very good actually. We're having such strong and healthy babies. I...I got to feel them all kick. It felt amazing..."

Itachi smiled at him. "You love them so much. It's going to be quite a sight seeing you hold them. But it doesn't surprise me that they're so strong. Remember...your husband may be small, but he has a lot of strength."

"Oh I definitely know nii-san. The only thing Naruto has been worried about are the babies. He's been talking to them none stop all day today. To others it may be annoying, but...it's a nice sight to see..." he quietly said.

"I bet. He's always loved those little ones. His hands are always rubbing away at his tummy, which is pretty adorable." Itachi chuckled.

Sasuke sat down next to him and just stared at his glass. "I don't know what he wants to be referred to as. A mother or just another father. I don't want to offend him or anything. But I just really want to know so that I don't end up slipping up and calling him the wrong thing..." he said.

Itachi wrapped an arm around his shoulders and brought him in for a hug. "Just ask him. But I'm sure he won't mind either way..." They have never had this problem before. So this was a first.

"Hn. I'll ask him once he's better." He looked at his brother and raised an eyebrow. He was...giving him another hug. "So I think you should bring Deidara over sometime to meet us. That's when you tell him the truth of course."

That's when Itachi looked back at him. "You wouldn't mind?" He was never one to meet new people. He always hated it and avoided it as much as he could. And now here he sat suggesting such a thing. It was very unexpected.

"I'm kind of curious to see what this blonde looks like. He's not another idiot, is he?" he joked.

Itachi couldn't help but chuckle as well. "That's awful Sasuke. But...he kind of is. Shhh." he winked.

"Oh this is going to be good." Sasuke smirked, before finishing off his glass.

Maybe both of them would get along and become friends.
