Truth Bearer

What lies underneath will always be hidden

What's on the surface, so mundane, yet forbidden

If truths once buried were truer than true

Then seekers will know things as seekers often do

But if the truth should be considered outrageous

Then in telling the truth one must be courageous

For truth does not bend to those who simply believe

It stands on it's own, not for what one can conceive

And if speaking the truth should cast shame on the speaker

Then that truth shall be found by another seeker

The innocent do not look for infractions to acquit

Just as the guilty hide guilt for crimes they commit

If those who bear truth become burdened and fall

Then it is their choice that they became burdened at all

Truth simply is and it is without holder

But one who carries truth must always grow bolder
