6 years ago, I had an idea. Like many said, it was a CRAZY idea and it would never work.

I wanted to create a site on Wattpad where Poets from all over the world could unite. A site where there were no egos, no gender, no colour, no nationality, no religion.

Just a site devoted to the understanding of Poetry. A site where all Poets, no matter what level they felt they were at, could be welcome and would get confirmation, acceptance, guidance, friendship and inspiration.

A site where Poets could grow to their full potential.

A site called the POETS PUB.

I was told it would fail within a couple months, like so many other site had failed on Wattpad.

Yet, here we are, 6 years later.

Still going strong.

The world around us has changed over the past year and a half and it is a change that will bring long lasting repercussions to all of our lives. Lives that will certainly be changed forever.

I realize that change has become the norm and even if the Poets Pub is to retain some semblance of what it was, we will have to change as well.

Over the coming months you will see changes here in the Pub. Changes that I feel are necessary to ensure the continued growth and yes, even the very existence of the Pub itself. Changes that will be gradual, but evident.

Myna and I are determined to keep the Pub alive, even in these very trying times, globally. And, even though participation is at an all time low, we are looking to expand the core of the Pub itself and hopefully bring together the other Poetry sites here on Wattpad, under one Poetic umbrella. 

It is a daunting task and one that surely is not a guarantee, but one that I feel, and Myna feels is a positive one and should be explored.

As the Poetry community here on Wattpad shrinks and becomes less of a priority for the new direction that Wattpad is going in, it is more important, now than ever, for us to reverse the slide that the Pub has taken and return it once again to its former glory.

I know that it is not a priority on many people's list, but, as always, the Poets Pub is and can be, your escape from reality.

If only for a few moments.

The Poets Pub is here to stay.

I especially want to thank those who have been with us from the beginning. You know who you are and each and every one of you have been a guiding light and inspiration to all of us here at the Pub.

And of course, there is MystresMyna.

To even begin to voice my praise for what this wonderful woman means to the Poets Pub, would be a task, beyond monumental.

To best sum it up ...

She is the heart and soul of the Poets Pub.

Without her, the Poets Pub would not be celebrating its 6th Anniversary this year.

Happy 6th Poets Pub.
