Winter
winter,
young ideas become covered in a barrier between their dreams.
Ice so thick and unbearable.
Wind as cold as any lifeless body,
it breathes into me a shivering blow.
I can't move
but the snow still shines and glows.
her eyes as warm as any summer.
her soul a tornado undiscovered.
Icicles , sharp, like daggers pointed at my heart.
you taste like candy canes, frozen in time.
Hot cocoa, still warm and sublime.
Your spirit gets drunk off of mine.
we left the wine coolers unlocked.
I now understand the reason for prohibition.
drinking and drinking until you're wasted.
dizzying and dazzling all around the place.
The alcohol of your presence leads to violence.
We fall on the tile floor, crying.
The blood of my emotions pools on the floor.
You drink it up like something you've never tasted before.
You cut me open until the accumulating snow turns everything I've ever felt to sludge.
I can't feel love.
It's much too frigid out here, I fear.
The snowmen stand in the front yard with hatchets.
you bury my body in the snowbank behind my home.
You fly yourself to Antartica and live in an igloo and fantasize about the moon.
She will always remember the moon.
But soon enough, she'll forget about me.
