Sharp Breath

Belt around your chest.

Rope around your waist.

Tie it tight, don't put any of your strength to waste.

Fasten duck tape all over beneath your shirt.

Take in a breath.

Hope it hurts.

Bite your lips and head your cries.

Laugh out loud about how easy you could die.

Breathe in deep.

Swim in a sea of pain.

No air is getting to your brain.

Draw your lips 'til they part every so gently.

Realise this may not be meant to be.

Finding it difficult to swallow.

Choke on your words and pray you see tommorow.

Constricting your breathing seems like a bad idea.

But until you've tried it, you don't know how I feel.

You have to think more deeply about every particle of oxygen that enters your lungs.

Try not to succumb.

Insomnia beats against my slowly flossing eyes like a drum.

But the lack of air makes my body shut down.

And before I know it, I'm sleeping sound.

Though it took much waste of wind.

I finally had a win.

Though it stole every bit of me.

I'd rather crush my ribs and die than stay awake any longer.

On this stupid decision I ponder.
