A day And A night
You Are The Sun, Where I Am The Moon.
You are the day as I am the night.
Distant from each other, so different, but necessary for one another.
The heat and warm rays of morning.
You put smiles on children's faces.
Ice-pops and swimming, playing in the sand.
Soccer games, baseball practice, and bubblegum.
You are the ombre yellow's, orange's, red's, and pink's of the sunrise and sunset.
The taste of citrus and Gatorade.
You are the hot concrete and summer adventures.
You are the day, you are bright, you are good.
I am the night.
Not nearly as favorable.
Ever so fearful and unwanted.
Children believe I carry monsters and watch me anxiously with night lights.
I hold campfires and bar fights.
I am the purple's, blue's, green's, and indigo's of aurora borealis.
I am the dark and the frigid.
I am the unknown and mysterious.
The stars and the moon compacted with silence.
The soft words from lovers that no one else hears,
and the cries from those being abused.
I am the Biggest bystander,
I am the twilight.
The dewy grass and wind stirring.
I taste of nothing.
I will never compare to your glorious glow.
I will never get close.
Though both of us are needed, I know who people like the most.
