William Sydney Porter was an American writer who wrote the pen name O. Henry. His short stories are well known for their ready wit, gentle humour and surprise endings.

His story, Hearts and Hands' describe the chance encounter on a train, between two aquaintances- Miss Fairchild and Mr. Easton. The situation turns awkward when Miss Fairchild notices that Easton is handcufed to a grim looking man. The man intervenes to save Easton from embarrassment and prevent the girl from didcovering the truth from him.

It is only through the observations of their fellow passengers that the reader is made aware of the real nature of the relationship between the two men handcuffed to each other.

I am so so sorry for updating late...
But let me tell you school is hectic. I really don't get time for anything. Because of the projects I am not even able to study anything extra. I am just doing my homework and project works. Its 10:35 pm rn and I really wanna sleep I am that exausted because of these projects but I still have to complete my Geography project. And the topic of the project is "Transportation: A case study on Indian Roadway"
This project making sucks.
