"Emotions and feelings are two poles apart."
°°°
Clouds lay as numerous pebbles on the beach, small and heaped in chaotic ways. Above was a drifting mist; thin, oddly transparent and traced along the horizon.
The airplane flew over the dawn skyline, which was set with pretty colours like a painting, making Hoseok want to write down lyrics in this calm ambience as the other members slept soundly in their respective seats. He had slept for three whole hours last night before being called out by the manager, in the early dawn, for their flight.
They were up in the air for more than an hour now, his puffy eyes travelled along the wings peeling the clouds apart, while his mind was elsewhere. Travelling back and forth for their tour had got him sickening by now, it was exhausting to a point where things seemed pointless to him but he was grateful of every bit he had been able to conquer till now.
Hoseok took out his phone and smiled, typing down words, humming the rhythm that came to his mind while doing so.
Meanwhile Jimin, who was seated beside him, was snuggled into a ball, soft breathes heaved from his tired self, completely dozed off just few minutes after boarding into their flight like the rest of them. His eyes flickered open momentarily adjusting his pillow under him, just to see the man in deep blue T-Shirt seated beside him up right under the yellow dim reading-light. His plain white mask tucked neatly under his chin, while he smiled contently as his fingers moved to type down with the tempo of rhythm in his head.
"You," Jimin squinted his eyes, trying to comprehend the scene before him and completed, "didn't sleep?"
Hoseok turned to face the blonde and ignoring his concern, he asked instead, "look! How does this sound?"
Jimin sat up, pulling his fluffy hair away from his vision while a crease formed between his tired eyes from the sudden brightness of the phone screen that was shoved at him.
His pupils moved rapidly, reading each word carefully while he maintained his inscrutable expression.
"You're making me nervous now," the elder sneered.
"Wow! When did you think of this?" finally Jimin rose from his slump, making Hoseok flash a content smile, even his eyes glinted with pure joy.
"But..." the blonde mumbled firm, looking down at his hands, he pulled his blanket up his chest, "don't you think, you're being too harsh on yourself?"
Hoseok glanced at Jimin's unexpected change of subject, his lips parted slightly although no words came out. Unknowingly, his smile turned into a weak one, eyes fluttered back to his phone screen as if guilty of something but doesn't want accept the fact.
"I don't think so. They have been waiting for over two years already. I'm sure they are as tired of waiting as I am tired of-" he cleared his throat amidst trying not to choke up on his words, "I mean... like you guys are working hard on your own, so I'm no exception." He brushed off the thoughts that were ready to eat him up again with a frolic chuckle.
Jimin whatsoever didn't look convinced, though he gave up as usual. It was near to impossible to understand why Hoseok did this to himself. He didn't know if he should pity him or look up to his bravery; his eyes wandered ahead lost in these thoughts.
"Yoonki hyung told me about this one movie," Hoseok made a quick glance at the younger seated beside him, who was lost in words and thoughts, "want to watch?"
"You kidding me? It's seven in the morning," the younger replied blunt, snuggling back into his blanket.
Meanwhile the breakfast was being served and voices of other members echoed as they nattered about it; some didn't wake up for the meal, others were munching over it as if hunger had over their soul.
"Taehyung, are you really not going to wake up?" Namjun grunted for the nth time, yet with no response, he laid out the blanket on himself, making it comfortable and snacked over onto the freshly served crisp buns and toasts, while slowly mumbling the lyrics he wrote the other day along with the music in his ears.
-
"I can still see that drool there," Yoonki teased, fixing his black bucket hat on, knowing they would be arriving at the airport soon.
"You guys betrayed me." Taehyung pouted while putting his black mask on.
"Namjun did try to wake you up though," Jin grinned speaking facts.
"Hyung you got your passport with you?" Hoseok chortled peeking up from his seat.
"Hey, will you stop taunting me with that question already?" Namjun huffed.
Upon arriving at the airport and leaving for the gates, they made themselves look presentable before the flashing clicks came for their fashion sense and looks, for which they obviously did not put much effort into, after to their chaotic schedule the other day.
"Do my eyes look too swollen?" The blonde held his sunglasses.
"No, they just look original." Jeongguk snorted in reply.
"Of course you'd say that," he pressed his lips indifferently, "I mean, do they look too tired to the point fans would worry?" He added.
"They'd worry anyway, but all I'm worried about is Hoseok hyung's stamina," Jeongguk read at the tall standing figure near vending machine, he held the cold energy drink, dim and quite to himself, as if lost in the fog of his thoughts again.
"He's been like that for months," the blonde agreed.
Hoseok on the other hand assembled himself to bring back his bright smile, not that he did not want to smile or show up in front of his beloved fans, but it was just tiring when the flashing camera clicks ate him up while his eyes barely could handle the day light then.
"Hoseok!" A voice screeched from afar near the public gates, caught his attention. Jin swayed his arms up in the air, in an attempt to catch the younger's attention, to join them as they moved over to the exit.
'You're their hope. You can't lose it to yourself,' Hoseok whispered back to his thoughts.
