"Shit!" I gasp when I open my eyes and see myself being spit out from the whirling blue cloud above me, screaming as I fall to the ground. I fall face flat onto the cement pavement below me, the air knocked out of my lungs harshly. "Why?" I hiss out in pain, tears springing the corner of my eyes as I slowly turn onto my back, watching as the crackling blue whirlpool disappears with no one else being dropped out with me. I groan in defeat and drop back to lay on the floor, remembering I'm in a disgusting alleyway and slowly got up into a sitting position with my shaky arms. I hiss out, a dull numbing pain enveloping my entire body as I struggled to feel my limbs. I look out of the alleyway, seeing the old-school shops and know that I was now in the second season of Umbrella Academy.
1963 in Dallas, Texas.
"Never been here before... This round-the-world trip is going great." I seethe out sarcastically, slowly lifting up my shirt to see the wound Vanya gave me back at the cabin still there but slightly healed. "What the hell...?" I look over my stomach to see random discoloured patches all over me with stitches around them. I look down my arms to see the same and I pull up my pants to see more of them. "I look like a Dalmatian mixed with Frankenstein. What the fuck-" I sigh softly, knowing why.
The fight back at the theatre.
I was practically disintegrating away like in Infinity War and parts of my body dissolved into particles.
Get ready for some science readers.
Everything around us including us is made out of matter.
But matter can neither be destroyed nor created, this is the Law of Conservation of Mass.
So the holes in my body from the fight were filled in with something already existing around me.
I wince, lightly touching a patch on my stomach but I couldn't feel anything like I had no nerves there.
Feels like skin, it better be skin.
I sigh out, ruffling my hair before slowly getting up. I lean up on a wall, my legs shaking beneath me since I couldn't feel them. "Why am I suddenly out of order?" I grumble under my breath, putting a foot forward and leaning weight on it. "Do I have to relearn how to walk!?"
I whip my head up, suddenly hearing multiple machine gunfire and bullets ricocheting. I drag myself to the opening of the alleyway and gasp when I see army men waging war on each other. My eyes widen when I see an actual real-life army tank simply drive down the road past me, men being shot down by their supposed enemy. Jet planes soar above me and I quickly hide behind a dumpster to avoid being attacked.
Did Five just fucking trap me in the middle of the nuclear war!?
I grit my teeth, shaking in fear of dying from the blast that was going to end the world again. I tear up, covering my ears when I hear missiles being shot. I didn't know what to do, I didn't know where to go and I was terrified.
"Five! You sick son of a bitch, where the hell have you been!" I suddenly hear someone yell out and I peek over the wall to see Five standing on the sidelines, his eyes wide at the error in time that was now happening. I waited to see if Hazel would come to save him but I started to panic when he didn't.
Where is Hazel!?
My blood runs cold thinking that our consequence of mucking with the storyline leads him to be dead. "Five!" I yell out, standing up and running towards him after I see the nukes in the sky. I grab his arm and we hide behind a car as he shook in my arms.
"Something is wrong, something is very wrong-" he mutters out and I pull him into a tight hug, guiding his head to my shoulder as I held him protectively. I look up at the nukes and he turns to look at them too. "My family-"
"-I need you to jump, Five you can't stay here!" He looks at me with wide eyes, finally taking a look at me and he tears up.
"(y/n)-"
"-close your eyes and concentrate! Drown out the bullets and the fighting, drown out the gunfire. Listen to me, we need to jump back in time ok. Concentrate!" He does as I ask, his powers fizzing around his fists and I look up at the giant explosion that breaks through the earth.
Please, please!
I close my eyes, praying as the rumbling got closer and I felt the heat before we fall through the cold blue whirlpool when we time jump. I hiss as I get thrown back from the impact of the explosion, slamming against a wall and I cry out in pain but I thank whoever was out there that we managed to escape our deaths.
"(y/n)!" I blink my eyes open to see Five run over to me, falling to his knees as he helped me sit up. His hair was dishevelled and he was panting from being so close to dying, his eyes wide with tears when he was able to hold my arms. "You're here..." he gasps in relief, pulling me into a tight hug and I wrap my arms around him to hold him back just as tightly. We finally let go and sigh in relief of being alive and ok. He leans back from the hug and he looked at me as if I wasn't real, as if I was a figment of his imagination but he slowly raises his hands to hold my cheeks. "You're really here..." his voice cracks as he gasps in relief. I sigh out in bliss from being able to feel the warmth of his hands, holding his hands in mine before he leans his forehead against mine. "Oh god... I can hold you again." he smiles as he lets out a shaky breath, not letting me go.
"I'm here Five, I kept my promise like I said I would." I mumbled out softly and Five hugged me again.
"When I got here, the apocalypse came back and my siblings were all fighting against the Soviets but I never saw you. You weren't with them and I thought that everything that happened back at home never happened." I ran my fingers through his hair, calming him down as he held me tightly. "You're ok, you're ok..." He sighs out
"Yeah, I'm ok, just a little numb." Five leans back, looking over me and noticing the patches all over my body. "(y/n), what happened?"
"I'll explain later. Right now, things are not going the way it's supposed to." I hiss softly as The Boy stood up and carefully helped me up, but my body was hurting everywhere. "Hazel was supposed to save you," He held my waist and led us to a nearby bench, setting me down to sit as he stood in front of me. "he had a briefcase to take you away from that apocalypse of 1963."
"But he didn't..." Five says and I nod.
"We fucked up. We changed shit and now things are all over the place. You would've died if you didn't time jump." I mumble out and Five pales, sitting down next to me on the bench.
"And we caused a nuclear Holocaust." he groans out, running his finger through his hair in frustration.
"Yep. Right now we're In Texas Dallas, same place of when the apocalypse happens but a few days before-actually, did you manage to grab the date?"
"Yeah, I read the newspaper. It said November 25th." I point over to the newspaper on the next bench over and Five goes to grab it to check today's date. "It's November 10th-"
"-wait, isn't it supposed to be ten days, not more..."
"Better to have more time to stop the apocalypse a second time around."
"Yeah, but we don't have the Frankel Footage from Hazel..." I mumble out, rubbing my neck as I look up to see a bus stop opposite us on the road. I immediately sit up straight, grabbing hold of Five's arm when I see the three Swedes walk out. "Move!" I get up and pull him with me, him teleporting us away to safety before one of the Swedes took out a gun to start shooting at us.
"Who the hell are those guys!?" Five gasps out as I hag, him peering over the car but they see him before. I pulled him back down by his ear. "(y/n) ow!" Bullets suddenly rain over us and he holds my head, teleporting us away onto the roof of a building to hide from our attackers. We hold our breath, laying still on our backs against the roof until we made sure the Swedes were gone. The both of us let out a long breath of relief and I move to run my fingers through my hair but I look down when I see Five holding my hand.
He clears his throat and quickly lets my hand go. "Are you ok?" I whisper to him, turning my head to see him staring up at the sky and I frown seeing him look so tired.
"Forget about that. Are you ok? What happened to you (y/n)? What is all this?" he turns his head to look at me, sitting up a little to look over at the patches on my arms and I explain what happened. Well, what I think happened. Five stopped and frowns, holding my hand. "I did this to you... This is my fault-"
"-it's not Five. Don't say that! I did this to myself ok. I went up against Vanya myself." he sighs out in defeat as I move to sit up properly with him. I reach over and I fix his clothes a little, fixing his tie and his collar. "There, much better." The Boy smirks down at me as I pat his sweatshirt down.
Just like back at Griddy's.
"Are you ok to jump?" Five asks me and I shrug, holding his arms and closing my eyes before we do. He holds me tight when I stumble against him, my world spinning but it calms down and we walk down the alleyway together to try and find some place to hide out in. "Who was that?" I look behind me to see the curtains move from a window on a building above us and before I could answer, we teleport again with a flash of blue surrounding us.
"Warn me next time!" I hag out as we land inside the building, my stomach feeling queasy. "That's one too many jumps-I feel sick..." I cover my mouth with my hands and Five quickly sets me down on the stairs so I could rest.
"Are you ok?"
I nod. "Just give me a moment." I slowly get up and he quickly moves to hold my waist, holding me up as we slowly walked up the stairs. "I just need to rest properly. I haven't been given time to just stop." I sigh out and he nods, carefully leading me up to the floor where Elliot lives.
We stop in front of the plaque door and Five knocks on it but the other door opens. "What do you want?" Elliot asks.
"Hi, I'm selling encyclopedias for my youth group. I was curious if-" he slams his door closed in front of us and Five looks at me. "Sorry about this." he apologises and I suddenly see blue again as we stumble into Elliot's home, him screaming in fear before he scrambles for a weapon.
He pulls out a butter knife at Five and I snicker. "How'd you do that!?" Elliot exclaims.
"Don't really have time to explain." Five walks me over to Elliot's couch, setting me down gently so I could rest.
"You from the Pentagon? Huh?"
"Definitely not."
Is it just me or did Five just get so much hotter in this season?
I watch with an amused smile at how chaotic this scene was, looking at Five and lowkey kinda admiring him. "Is that fresh?" he points to the kettle of coffee, teleporting to it and pouring him a glass while ignoring Elliot's screams. He fills another glass with water and walks to me with both glasses, looking at me with a raised brow as he caught me staring at him before handing me my glass of water. "Drink." he nods to the glass and I grimace but he taps my chin up, that action making me blush and he smirks at me when I take a sip of water. "This Colombian?" Five asks Elliot after he takes a sip of the coffee, appreciating the decent cup of dirty bean juice.
"It's my own blend..."
"Can you ask if he has any painkillers?" I ask Five and Elliot looks directly at me with wide eyes.
"Uh, I can get some for you if you want." I look at the man as he answers me, lowering his butterknife.
"Wait!" I gasp, pointing at Elliot. "You can see me!?" Five looks between me and a confused Elliot with his brows furrowed as Elliot just nods slowly.
"Am I not meant to?"
"Oh my god Five. He can see me! Someone sees me! I'm not invisible anymore! I'm back to normal! I'm solid again!" he grins at me, shaking his head but I could see the flicker of joy in his eyes.
"So where is that medicine? The lady here is in pain." Elliot quickly runs off to his bathroom after Five asks him and he comes back to hand me a packet of tablets.
I down two tablets with the glass of water. "Wait!" Elliot pauses when I stopped him before he walked away. "Give me your hand please." he hesitantly gives me his hand and I poke my finger in the middle of his palm. "Can you feel that?" he nods and I grin.
I raise my hand and I quickly bring it down, smacking Elliot's palm red. "Why'd you do that for!?" the man I wacked yelps back in pain and I shrug.
I can finally hit people now.
I'm coming for you Luther, just you wait.
"One more thing Elliot, do you by chance have any clothes I could wear?" he blinks at me before shaking his head.
"I'm sorry no-wait! How did you know my name!?" He screeches out, covering his head.
This dumbass thinks I can read minds wow.
"I know everything Elliot." I wiggle my fingers at him, trying to be spooky and it works as he steps away from me. "Plus, I'm from the future. About 60 years or so." Before Elliot could say anything, Five walks up to me with hands full of stolen clothes.
Did he just teleport to nearby shops and just steal them? I'm not surprised if he did.
"Five, this is too much." He helps me stand up on my feet with a cheeky grin on his face, holding my waist to help me walk into a bedroom to change.
"You can pick whatever you like and I can return the rest. I'm sure people are going to freak out when they see a girl wearing blood-covered clothes." I take the clothes from him, dumping them on Elliot's bed. I was about to change when I see that Five was leaning casually against the doorframe, his arms crossed in front of his chest as he smirked at me.
"If you think you're going to see anything, think again Five."
"Oh come on, not even a little peak?" he coos and I turn away from him, blushing brightly.
"In your dreams!" I turn back around and shove him out of the room before slamming the door closed in his face.
"Oh, I will." I gasp out as Five laughs from the other side of the door.
