Chapter 6
Another day filled with normal activities for Moegi Morikawa. She spent a particular day mainly with her fashion club. She was now sitting on a park bench sketching out a random design, she noticed a shadow stand over her.
"Hey Dabi," greeted Moegi without looking up.
"What are you working on?" asked Dabi sitting next to her.
"Just a hobby," answered Moegi.
Dabi put a hand on her shoulder, as he took a closer look. "That's right, you wish to be a fashion designer." Moegi was currently designing a casual dress with a belt around the waist. "You should consider fashion for men."
"I have," said Moegi as she flipped the drawing pad pages back. "This is just some of them." Moegi showed him a page of a vest. Dabi reached down ripping the page out. "Hey!"
"Take it as a compliment," said Dabi, holding the page close to his face. "I like it. Something I would wear." Moegi eyed him. "I'm serious."
"Sure," breathed Moegi taking the page back. She was going to have to tape it back in, Toya flipped pages landing on a hero suit.
"Planning to become a hero?" asked Dabi in slight disgust.
"It's for a contest," said Moegi eyeing him again. "Winners get scholarships." She looked back at the design. "Though it got scrapped due to a few variables."
"You make it and I'll wear it," offered Dabi closing the book. "So your efforts don't go to waste." Moegi fully looked at him, there was something so familiar about this guy, and she could not place why, the eyes were one of the biggest factors.
"Well, I'll have to take your measurements," said Moegi giving in. "For fabric purposes and all," Dabi smirked. "You offered."
"No, no," said Dabi looking away. "I'm delighted to offer you my services."
****
The next day, Moegi sat on Koichi's rooftop watching him show off a new moveish.
"Sooo, first I feint back and forth to close the gap," explained Koichi as he shoved off his tactical. Knuckleduster went to step on him. "I slip past their feet and...stick my leg out to the side to trip them."
"WAH?!" sounded the old man.
Koichi continued to explain and demonstrate. "If they dodge that and are about to come at me from behind...I stop on a dime, spin around, and sweep again!" Knuckleduster moved an inch closer. "Then, if they stop moving and get all defensive...I back outta there really quick."
"Gotcha," said Knuckleduster. "To start with, your Slide and Glide moves are tough as hell to read. Work in some of those feints and sweeps, and the enemy'll have an even harder time closing in on you. That switch to escape mode is also pretty smooth. You've thought this out, Koichi.:
"Heh, heh," blushed Koichi putting a hand behind his head.
"They are clever," complimented Moegi, she was working on her sketches a bit.
Pop who's been in a sour mood, was not in agreement with the other two. "Just looks weird to me, and super annoying."
"Annoying?" repeated Knuckleduster as they looked at Pop, she looked away in a pout. "If those moves give his opponent trouble, they're doing their job." He became confused.
"Pop's been in a bad mood lately," informed Koichi with sweat.
"From the sound of it you know why," said Moegi looking at him. "So explain." The two sat down for some water to listen to Koichi.
"Huh? Vigilante research?" repeated Knuckleduster.
"Yeah, someone I know at college is doing a study," explained Koichi. "We crossed paths, and I wound up helping her out---"
"Are you sure that's a smart thing to do?" asked Moegi. "With you being a vigilante yourself and all."
"I jsut want to help," said Koichi. "I used to be Mr. Nice Guy."
Moegi titled her head. "It can land us all in a sticky situation."
"She's right," said Knuckleduster. "Sounds like trouble. We're in it real deep if some outsider figures out who we are."
"I'd prefer it if my identity remains a secret from everyone else," said Moegi. "
"The cops and villains both'll be busting down the door before we know it," added Knuckleduster.
"That would be bad, yeah," agreed Koichi.
"Yup, totally idiot," piped in Pop, they looked to see she was still in a pout.
"Well, I know all sorts of ways to throw people off our scent," said Knuckleduster raising his fist.
"Whoa, hey!" Koichi shot him down. "I'll be sure to fool her. Peacefully, though."
"Let's hope it is successful," said Moegi,
Knuckleduster moved his face close to Koichi. "That's on you, this time. But it's best not to mix business with pleasure."
"Eh..." sounded Koichi. "Not really sure which part is 'business' and which 'pleasure' here.
***
Moegi was now walking down the street with Dabi, he was walking with her till she got to her job of the day. She was cleaning a dentist's office.
"Excuse me," said a voice. They looked to see Koichi and a very pretty girl with long black hair pulled back with a bow and glasses. Koichi was holding a camera, he was giving Koichi a look not to be stupid, and she gave the look right back. "My name is Makoto, I want to know your opinions about the vigilantes here in Naruhata."
"Hm?" sounded Moegi tilting her head.
Dabi glanced at Moegi for a second, then at the other two. "Which ones?"
"The Crueller and his pals," answered Makoto. "Spookie used to be a solo act before he came along, so your opinions on the group."
"I personally would like to test my skills against the old man," said Dabi.
Moegi looked at him. "You don't seem much like a fist-fighter." He looked at her somewhat offended.
"The Crueller dude seems like an annoying squirrel," said Dabi looking back at the other two, Koichi made a face.
"I think you are thinking of a chinchilla perhaps," Moegi added to the fire, Koichi glared at her as Makoto laughed a little.
"I suppose," said Makoto in agreement.
"That Spookie is fit," said Dabi putting his hands in his pockets, Moegi did her best to keep a poker face. "The way she slips in and out---"
"Pop's has gotta be the coolest," said Moegi cutting him off. "Brings a lot of pep to the team."
"Thank you for your time," smiled Makoto, she and Koichi moved on, Koichi and Moegi both exchanged glares at each other as they passed, Moegi turned to Dabi.
"You think Spookie is cute?" asked Moegi as they continued to walk.
"Come on, everyone loves a mysterious face," said Dabi. "People are naturally intrigued by a person in disguise, all hopeful for that chance to unmask them."
"I think Spookie would much prefer if people respected her privacy," said Moegi. 'I'd prefer it if no one knew, but letting the vigilante group know has made life a little easier.' She looked at Dabi.
"What did you mean I don't look like a fist fighter?" asked Dabi.
"Just look at you," said Moegi gesturing to his body. "You come off more as someone that walks towards someone in the alley snapping your fingers rather with a fist ready to go on the fly."
"Snapping my fingers, as in a damn jet," said Dabi. "I'm a fighter through and through." Moegi just rolled her eyes, they came to a stop. "See you later."
"Later," said Moegi, she went off to do her cleaning job.
**
That night, Moegi was in Koichi's apartment with the others, she, Pop, and Koichi were going through people's opinions of the group, as Knuckleduster sat on the floor reading the newspaper and smoking.
"Opinions on Cruller Man, from around town," Moegi read the headline.
Pop had a field dad reading the comments. "Get it together. Don't cocky. Not serious enough. Good effort. Hope Spookie won't consider him as a sidekick, kind of harsh, huh."
"Sidekick?" repeated Koichi, as he looked at his paper. "Pop Step: Butt. Butt. Sucks at singing. Baby got back. Show more butt."
"WHAT?!" demanded Pop looking at the paper.
"Nobody really gets it...besides, I'm never going to accept being called 'Crueller Man'," said Koichi with an irritated moan.
"It saved your ass today," said Moegi flipping to see comments made about her.
"I'm the Crawler!" corrected Koichi slapping the paper. "Not Cruller Man!!"
"Why're you moaning to me about it?" demanded Pop. Moegi found the comments about her.
'Spookie: Since The Cruller came about, Spookie has been making more appearances. She should focus on her power a bit more. She's strong and hot despite not knowing what her face looks like. I want to be her girlfriend. I want to be her husband. That Spookie is fit.'
The last comment was definitely from Dabi. Moegi was surprised by the way he was talking about her as if he knew something he shouldn't know. Moegi began to think about how much she really does know about Dabi. Has he been in the alleyways all this time? Or was their meeting coincidental?
***
Another day at Koichi's, Moegi was working on another sketch. It was Dabi in the hero costume that he wanted to model. They were all watching the news on Captain Celebrity.
"Captain Celebrity has announced the start of his new career here in Tokyo. Yes, it's Christopher Skyline himself. The Japanese debut of one of America's Major-League Herpes is sure to cause waves throughout our own hero industry."
"Ah," chimed Pop, she sat at a table with Knuckleduster. "That's the dude who saved Koichi."
"I heard from few others that he is hero while a lawsuits are being sorted out back in the States." said Moegi. "Based on the news, they are covering that up here."
The news continued. "In this image, we see him rescuing an entire cruise ship last year in New York Harbor."
"Whoa," breathed Pop. " Guy's pretty impressive, huh?"
"Plenty of accomplishments, but tons of issues," said Knuckleduster. "Following with what Spookie said earlier. They call him Captain 'Catastrophe' Celebrity. It's just one lawsuit or scandal after another with him. Basically, he couldn't work in the States anymore, so now he's come here to make a living."
"Makes sense to me," grumbled Koichi, he was stabbing marker off his All Might hoodie. "Got some real bad vines off him.
"You never talk smack about people. Kocihi," said Pop in surprise.
Koichi focused back on his task. "I can't stand guys like him, on a gut level."
"You can like or hate whoever you want, I guess....what're you going there, anyway?" asked Pop.
"Removing this Stain," answered Koichi, in a worse mood. "Someone went and scribbled all over my hoodie." Moegi went back to her drawing, then flipped to another page.
****
That evening Moegi was at the fabric store with Dabi, hanging out with him felt natural. Moegi hasn't felt this type of connection since Toya...Moegi was keen to keep her distance from Dabi in that aspect. No way she could replace Toya...ever.
"It's that hero," said Dabi, Moegi looked up to see a news report on Captain America, taking care of another instance villain, in the background she spotted Koichi and Pop.
"Seems like there's an instant villain every day," said Moegi. "Kind of concerning."
"Hating on villains?" asked Dabi. "A little rude if you ask me."
"No, no," denied Moegi looking back at the fabrics. "Rumor has it that in the past the drug was taken by choice, but as of late it's forced, taken by surprise."
"From the sounds of it, there's another villain pulling the strings," said Dabi picking up a fabric. "The infamous question is who." Moegi turned around the look at him. "Hm?"
"There's a measuring station here," said Moegi, he made a face. "What?"
"I thought you were going to do it," admitted Dabi putting his hand behind his head. "More comfortable you than some wacky stranger." She blinked. "Unless---"
"I'll do it," assured Moegi. "You can over to my place or we can---'
"Your place, Mori," said Dabi cutting her off.
****
Moegi dressed at Spookie stood outside a battered-up work building, due to the battle the other day. She stood down at the bottom with Pop as Koichi went into the building to check for anyone remaining. Moegi did not mind remaining on the sidelines, she liked allowing Koichi his time to shine...well that was until Captain Celebrity showed up.
"That guy again," huffed Pop in annoyance.
"That bad of an encounter, huh?" sounded Moegi as they watched Captain Celebrity leave with a girl, and Koichi came out with a sumo wrestler. The hero soaked up the cameras while Koichi sulked with his back toward the crowd.
Captain Celebrity smiled, snapping his fingers. "Great time to demolish this next building! Let's have some fun!" A bunch of cheerleaders rushed past, they got into formation.
"GO! GO! GO C.C!" They cheered, they all watched as Captain Celebrity took care of the building.
"Wow. Now he's got cheerleaders," said someone.
"Big freaking deal said another.
"Guess this is just how they do it stateside?"
"I mean some of our Japanese heroes, are also like entertainers in a way."
"What's wrong with having a little show on-site?"
"Kind of like a live performance."
"There's outfits are cute," Moegi complimented the cheerleaders.
"Seems a little frivolous to me. Like he doesn't take the job seriously..." complained Koichi. "Kinda jealous of how flashy it all is..."
"The truth comes out," blurted out Pop. Koichi's attention was grabbed by the cheerleaders when one of them revealed to be Makoto.
"Good work girls!" complimented Makoto. "Each squad take a roll call and prepare to move out."
"Okayyyy!"
"Yeah!"
Koichi began to pout. "Watching Makoto cheer for a jerk like him...it just bugs me."
"Yeah, look at her," said Pop folding her arms. Moegi noticed tons of jealousy coming from both Koichi and Pop. "Get a good look at her. So crass! Bouncing around in that miniskirt like an idiot!" Koichi stared Pop's revealing outfit, she put her hands over her skirt. "This skirt is supposed to be short like this!
"I bet they'd say that same thing," said Koichi looking over at the cheerleaders.
Makoto looked at them with enthusiasm. "Ah! Cruller Man, Pop Step, and Spookie!"
"We should get going," said Moegi taking a step back, the girl started to jog over to them.
"Gimme an interview! Hey, just a minute of your time!"
"Crap, let's Split," urged Koichi pulling the mask over his face.
"Perhaps another time!" answered Moegi, she grabbed Pop and Koichi turned all three invisible, and hurried through the crowd, pulling them off an alley, and still having a look at what was going on.
"Makoto! We need you!" The girl looked back. "The media people want a way to contact us."
"Makoto! We've got a girl here applying for the cheer job."
"Makoto, the rescue squad says they need more people."
Captain Celebrity appeared in front of her. "Ha ha ha! How does it feel, Makoto?"
"Oh, hey there boss," greeted Makoto with a smile.
"Please call me, Chris," requested Captain Celebrity.
"Boss?" repeated Moegi as she made them all turned visible again. "Explains why he's making his overseas debut in Tokyo then another part of the country."
"You make quite a fine leader, if I do say so myself," said Captain Celebrity leaning closer to her.
"Ah, ha ha!" laughed Makoto. "I'm just a go-getter."
"Oh, don't be so humble," advised Captain Celebrity. "You're really helping me out."
Captain Celebrity turned on his back, taking off his hero glasses. "I'd like to find the time to communicate with you about the finger points of the job. In other words, we ought to get to know each other a little bit."
Makoto pulled out her phone. "It'd be my pleasure. How about grabbing lunch together? Let me make a reservation?"
Captain Celebrity put a hand on her shoulder. "Make it a restaurant with a view of the whole city. I can sweep you off your feet and fly us there."
"Oh sounds great!" agreed Makoto looking at him. Based on the looks of it, Captain Celebrity and Makoto were not entirely on the same page.
"Ugh," groaned Koichi in disgust. "He's touching her shoulder...what a creep." He began to grind his teeth.
"So that would-be casanova's making a mess of things again?" asked Knuckleduster, they looked to see that he had joined them in the alley.
"Ah...master," greeted Koichi.
"What do you know about this hero across the seas?" asked Moegi looking back at the crowd.
"Captain 'Catastrope' Celebrity. Also known as 'The Soaring Stallion.' Most of his legal troubles have to do with women. The biggest lawsuit's coming from his estranged wife, who's seeking reparations for infidelity," explained Knuckleduster. "He's been taken to court for every cent he's got, and the guy still doesn't take it to heart...or maybe he figures it's time to really spread his wings away from his wife's prying eyes? Either way, he hasn't learned a thing."
***
Moegi went and did a quick grocery job, before regrouping at Koichi's house, they all sat around the table sipping on a drink and watching the news about Captain Celebrity.
"For years now, Captain Celebrity has been smeared as a playboy hero. But he's rebooting his image with a new campaign here in Japan. According to these press release announcing this new strategy, his old catchphrase 'cool and charming' will be replaced instead by an appeal to Japanese hard-liners. In response to this extreme shift in tone, both domestic and foreign media outlets are saying 'maybe' something he ate made him crazy.
"Ew," muttered Pop. "What's he gone and down now?"
"Who knows," grumbled Koichi looking away.
Moegi raised her tea to her mouth. "I have a gut feeling this guy may be making a regular appearance in some of our lives."
"Just until he goes back to the States," grumbled Knuckleduster.
***
Moegi was now at home, her mom was out as usual, which would make this measuring thing with Dabi a little more comfortable. She was in the kitchen making a thing of udon when the doorbell rang.
"Should be able to step away for a second," said Moegi, she put the spoon down, and went over to the door, with a peak through the hole, she saw Dabi standing with his back to the window.
"Dabi!" greeted Moegi opening the door, he looked back at her, he seemed off. "Did you have trouble finding the place?" He studied her a bit, a lot seemed to be on his mind. "Dabi?"
"No trouble at all," said Dabi as he stepped on, he began to take off his shoes. "Whatever you are making smells good."
"Udon," said Moegi going back to the kitchen. "You are my guest."
"I'm just here to get measured," said Dabi looking around the place, his eyes landed on a picture frame on a bookshelf. The picture dates back to junior high, Moegi was dressed up in this realistic costume, and next to her was a boy with white spikey hair, dressed like someone trapped in a haunted house. A little boy that Dabi knew too well. In the reflection of the frame, he saw Moegi reenter the room with two bowls of Udon and a measuring tape. "Put--"
"Eat," ordered Moegi throwing chopsticks at him, Dabi gave in before she could throw anything else in.
"Thank you for the food," said Dabi putting his hands together before digging in, his eyes went wide at first bite. Her cooking had definitely improved over the years.
"Bad?" asked Moegi opening her sketch.
"So good," said Dabi as he shoved more into his mouth, then reached for her bowl.
"Oi!" sounded Moegi pulling her bowl away. "Finish what you got before you come digging at mine!" Minutes later, Moegi was looking at instructions on her phone and fiddling with the measuring tape, she looked to see Dabi in only his boxers. "You didn't need to take off your clothes." She was doing her best to hide her blushing. His torso looked sewn back together, some spots had purple patches, and others did not.
"I saw it in a TV show," said Dabi with a shrug. "Come on, I don't have all day." Moegi went over with her notepad, pencil, and measuring tape. She began to carefully measure him, she noticed a lot of heat coming off of him.
"You must have a heat-related quirk," said Moegi as she measured his arm width, she started to recall doing this type of stuff with Todorokis, sometimes for the Mori and Roki show, their skit required costume. Moegi was persistent on being able to make it if it called for it.
"What makes you think that detective?" asked Dabi taking down at her. "I've never shown you my quirk."
"Your body heat," answered Moegi. "It's higher than the average, but you are not showing signs of a high fever, or cold, or stuff related to that." She looked up at him. "What is your quirk?"
"Blue inferno," answered Dabi looking away from her, she continued with her measurements. "Enough about me, tell me about that picture." She looked at him questioningly. "The with the boy with white hair."
"Oh," breathed Moegi, her voice became sad. "That's my best friend, Toya, I convinced him to do haunted house every year with me."
"I've never seen him walking out of school with you," said Dabi. "Sounds like a sorry excuse for a best friend."
"He died about four years ago," answered Moegi.
"Sorry for asking about him," said Dabi looking away, he felt heat rise as she continued to measure him. "Must be a sensitive topic for you."
"It is," admitted Moegi. "Sometimes I feel like it was my fault." Dabi looked at her. "If I hadn't been sick that night, then he could still be alive."
"Don't ever think it was your fault!" Dabi snapped at her. "He wouldn't want you to blame yourself." Moegi took a step back. "I mean, you were sick, how could it be your fault?"
"Just feels like it," said Moegi. "Anyways, they always say that with time it gets better, which is sort of true. It's been almost four years and I still get the urge to call him and tell him about every little thing, to realize he won't be picking up the phone ever again."
"You can still talk to him," said Dabi looking away. "Even though he's not there, he is listening." He glanced back at her to see tears threatening to pour out of her eyes. He had rarely seen Moegi cry, even if she wiped out of her bike or whatever, tears were rare. "We can change topics, I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize," said Moegi wiping her eyes. "It is as you said earlier, a sensitive topic. Do you want more Udon after this, I still got some left just have to heat it up."
"I'll never say no to that," confirmed Dabi.
****
A new day arrived, Moegi arrived at Koichi's apartment, she knocked on the door patiently waiting outside. When it opened, Kazuho dressed nicely, Makoto and an older woman.
"And who is this?" asked the older woman.
"My name is Moegi Morikawa, I go to a high school around here," answered Moegi as she stepped in. "I am looking into a few colleges, and was going to get some in sight about the one Koichi goes to." She looked between everyone. "But it seems like it is a bad time."
'She's really good at lying,' Koichi and Pop thought to themselves.
"Not at all!" Makoto denied. "I go to the same college, I can give you some insight as well."
"I appreciate your help," said Moegi.
"Don't just stand there," said Ms. Haimawari. "be a good host and get her a cup of tea.
"Yes, ma'am," said Koichi in a sweat.
The door opened again. "Hey, it's me." They looked to see Knuckleduster, he was cleaned up nicely to everyone's surprise.
'Crap!' panicked Koichi, Kazuho (Pop), and Moegi. 'He's the hardest of all to explain!'
"Oh? You have guests?" asked Knuckleduster, he had an envelope in his hand.
'Huh?' the three questioned.
"What a man," stated Makoto and Ms. H with much desire in their eyes.
Ms. H looked at Makoto. "Enough of that. A young thing like you should find a man your own age."
"You sure looking stiffy today, Master," acknowledged Koichi.
"Because I came straight from wrong," answered Knuckleduster.
"Ah, this is my mom and friend from school," Koichi introduced.
"Oh..pleased to meet you," said Knuckleduster, he pulled out a card, to hand to Ms. H. "My name's Kuroiwa."
"Oh, how polite of you," said Ms. H taking the card.
" A business card," whispered Koichi.
"What sort of business do you think he does?" whispered Moegi.
"Didn't even know he had a name," whispered Koichi.
"Course he's got a name. Duh," whispered Kazuho.
"Might I have a card too?" requested Makoto holding out her hands. "Oh, how polite of you."
The card
Creating A Better Life Together
NPO: Civil Assistance
Naruhata Area Representative
Takeshi Kuroiwa
Naruhata, Naruhata Ward, Tokyo
"Ha ha, an NPO?" asked Makoto. "What sort of work do you do?"
"What's an NPO?" asked Koichi.
"Non-profit organization," answered Moegi, the other two curiosity.
Knuckleduster gave a lengthy explanation. "We provide support in neighborhoods like East Naruhata, where local government and community organizations are less effective. In fact, volunteer workers like Koichi here are key to the mission. They keep the roads clean and patrol crime for a night."
'He's good,' Moegi thought.
'Wow. He's basically telling the truth,' Koichi thought.
'Expect that who NPO thing's gotta be a fake,' Kazuho thought.
"Yes, yes," said Ms. H putting a hand on her face. "I'm sure my son has always been drawn to that sort of thing. Unreliable though he is, he loves picking up garbage and the like."
"His commitment's been a big help, actually," said Knuckleduster. "And I often use your son's apartment for our meetings. We've been working on self-defense training out on the roof."
"Ah," breathed Makoto putting her hands together. "That's why he calls you, Master." She started to touch his arm. "I must say you look awfully strong. What a body! Did you used to have a different job of some sort? Military? Police? Or perhaps you were a hero?"
'She's got an uncomfortable approach with this,' Moegi thought.
"A hero, Makoto? For goodness' sake..." complained Ms. H, they looked at her. "Stick with ordinary people! You know how it goes with heroes. They let themselves get used until their own lives fall apart. My Koichi used to have heroic aspirations, in fact. He thought appearances would make the man. Went around imitating All Might, of all people. He would interfere in fights, get hurt...and put himself in danger trying to help others." Moegi stared at the floor at the mention of All Might. She met him once after crashing the car into his agency with Toya. "I'm off to be a hero, he said when he went to Tokyo for a high school entrance exam. But he came slinking back home after falling into a river. My boy's just always been the unreliable sort, drawn trouble..."
"TH-That's just not true!" blurted out Kazuho, they all looked at her, she was blushing a lot.
"Do you have something to say, Kazuho?" asked Moegi.
"Why not tell us, then?" asked Makoto.
"N-mevermind.." said Kazuho looking away.
"Speak your mind, young lady!!" ordered Ms. H, this made Kazuho panic and leave the place, flailing her arms. "Ah. She ran away." Ms. H became sad. "Oh, now I've done it. Dear me. I shouldn't have pressed the girl so hard."
"Pressed her?" asked Koichi in disbelief. "More like shouted her into submission."
"Well, don't just stand there!" yelped Ms. H, she used her quirk to smack her son. "Chase her down!"
"YOWCH!" yelped Koichi.
"Ummm..." breathed Koichi, he looked back at them. "Chase her down, and then what?"
"Well..." began Makoto. "She's clearly put a lot of effort into her appearance. Why not compliment her?" Koichi stepped out.
"I'll get going as well," said Moegi. "Only stopped for a minute, going around Tokyo with a friend."
"That sounds like a great idea!" said Makoto. "We might follow your lead, and take Ms. Haimwari sightseeing." With that Moegi stepped out, she turned invisible, and quickly made her way down, past Koichi and Pop, and to the streets.
A bit later, Moegi was now sightseeing with Dabi, they took a couple of pictures together. Moegi was staring at a mannequin in a window, as Dabi was looking at an Endeavor action figure, with anger.
"You almost ready?" asked Dabi. "The buses will be leaving soon."
"Sure," said Moegi, he looked over at her. "I know patience is key, but all I can see is my designs across this window."
Dabi put his hand on her shoulder, drawing her away from the window. "No doubt, now come on before we miss the bus." They got to the bus area.
"Oh, Mori!"
They looked to see Koichi, his mom, and Makoto, they were about to get on the bus as well.
"Hello," greeted Moegi, as her. "This is my friend Dabi. Dabi. this is Koichi, his mom, and Makoto."
"Pleasure," said Dabi lowering his head.
"Did you two get anything while you were here?" asked Makoto.
"Oh, shoes a new belt for him, and fabric for me," answered Moegi. They turned their attention to the tour guide.
"This bus is for Tohato Tours 'Tokyo's' hot spots at a glance Half a day tour. We'll be concluding our tour with a ride back to Tokyo station, where we started. Back to Tokyo station where we started." Everyone boarded the bus, Moegi sat in the back with Dabi, he wanted another look through her fashion sketches, she was getting a closer look at the belt he got.
"Hey, what was that look at the action figure earlier?" asked Moegi.
"I just really hate that guy," said Dabi putting his hands together. "Truly..."
"Me too," said Moegi. "Horrible, stinky fire freaky that eats his boogers." Dabi started laughing, then the bus started to malfunction. It started to go super fast and take a different form.
"MEOWWW!"
"Did the bus just meow?" asked Dabi as he sat up more. People on the street and on the bus started screaming and holding on tight. Moegi grabbed hold of Dabi's arm, he held a hand over his mouth.
"D-Don't panic!" ordered the tour guide. "We've sent a distress call!"
"How can we not panic?" asked Koichi getting to his feet, Moegi looked over at him and his group.
"What's that sound?" asked Dabi, he shoved his hand into his mouth, he was getting motion sick.
"Sounds like the turbo hero," said Moegi as she held his arm tighter.
"On the scene!" shouted Ingenium as he caught up to the runaway bus, he ripped off the door. "Sorry about the door!" He took off his helmet. "Is anyone hurt?!?" He and Koichi made eye contact. "Oh..."
"Ah..." breathed Koichi, Dabi spread his legs apart and bent over.
"Hold it!" urged Moegi. "Throw up later!"
"What's the situation, driver?" asked Ingenium.
"Not good!" the driver answered. "Brakes and steering aren't working!"
"Hey!" shouted Koichi. "There're people up ahead! Oh....Mori!" Moegi peaked down the aisle, she saw Knuckleduster with a makeshift cat toy and Pop.
"I'm not sure what they are going for," said Moegi as she began to move down the aisle, she looked back. "Keep it together, Dabi! I'll be right back!" She over to Koichi. "But the cat toy sure is to do something." That something was throwing it in a different direction.
"Great! It swerved onto another route!" shouted Koichi. "How strong is your quirk?"
"I can make everyone and this bus intangible," said Moegi. "We got a dead end coming, but that won't stop the bus from crashing elsewhere, and Naruhata is just past that wall."
"Now we've got a time limit," smiled Ingenium. "I'm in no mood to go flying to my death with this thing. Is Pit-02 on its way? Good. Match your spide, pull up alongside the bus, and get ready to transfer passengers."
"What?!" asked Moegi, she looked at the ground outside.
"We're gonna move people over at this speed? " questioned Koichi as he looked at a truck starting to pull up to them. "It's too dangerous! Everything's shaking!"
"That's where my promising new recruit comes in!" assured Ingenium looking at the truck. "Enigma!"
"HEY! HEY!" greeted Enigma in her gigantifaction form. She started to grab people to put in the truck. "There ya go. There ya go."
"Dabi!" chimed Moegi as rushed back, she saw he was getting closer to throwing up, so Moegi grabbed his arm, putting it over her, and then started to make her way back to the front.
"I'm never getting on a bus with you again," managed Dabi.
"It's one of those instant villain cases," said Moegi in a whisper.
"How the fuck does a bus become a villain?" asked Dabi growing greener.
"The cat stupid!" chimed Moegi. "The bus has been making cat noises!"
"Keep calm and move to the front of the vehicle!" instructed Ingenium, Moegi, and Dabi got picked up at the same time.
"There ya go," said Enigma.
"Thank you!" chimed Moegi as she went and laid Dabi down. Everyone got off, but Makoto before the cat bus got faster.
"Makoto!" cried out Koichi from Enigma's hand.
"WAHHHH!!" cried out Makoto as the truck came to a stop.
"Makoto's still on that bus!!" shouted Ms. H as people got off.
"I'm on it!" assured Ingenium who had his helmet back on. "The rest of you attend to the injured!"
Moegi was outside rubbing Dabi's back, whose stomach finally betrayed him.
"Out of steam?" asked a sidekick.
"Hey, can we send out a vehicle team?" asked another.
"Pit-02 is out of commission!" another reported.
"Ugh...Makoto's in trouble!" said Koichi. "If only I had an All Might Hoodie..." He pulled something out. "Oh wait. I do! The souvenir shop!" He slipped on a hoodie and face mask and made his way to team Idaten. "Excuse me! I'm the man who can move reasonably fast! The Crawler!"
"Huh? Where'd you come from?" asked a sidekick.
"Oh," breathed Enigma, recalling her encounter with him.
"Really?" asked the first guy. "You've got a high-speed movement quirk? Then get going! You're part of the Ida support team now!!"
Ms. H started to use her quirk to smack Koichi again. "Hold it, Koichi! Don't take another step! This is no place for civilians to take action!"
"Mom!" yelped Koichi looking back, holding his head. "There's no time for that!" With that, he took off with some orange juice for Tensei Ida. Ms. H started to sway and Dabi finally regained himself.
"You hurt, ma'am?"
Moegi looked over to see Knuckleduster dressed in civilian clothes and Pop in her civilian clothes arrive at the scene.
"I help with first aid and stuff!" offered Kazuho.
"Are you going to be alright?" asked Moegi as Dabi stood up.
"I think," said Dabi wiping his mouth. "So, that's the result of that drug, causing instant villains."
"Yeah, totally bad stuff," said Moegi looking in the direction of the bus. "No villain should get mixed up with that stuff if they want to remain in one piece."
"It's weak for them to choose that route," said Dabi. "A weak villain has no business being a villain."
***
That night, Moegi was at Koichi's with everyone but, Dabi who had something else to do.
"I suppose I can trust these people to look after you," said Ms. H. "I'm heading home."
"Ehh?" breathed Koichi. "Leaving already, mom? Take your time. Stay awhile, why don'tcha?"
Ms. H smacked him again. "Don't say what you don't mean."
"Ouch!" sounded Koichi.
Ms. H turned to the others. "Kazuho. Moegi. Mr. Kuroiwa. Koichi is in your hands. Feel free to smack him if he steps out of line."
"Roger that, ma'am," said Knuckleduster clenching his fist. Ms. H slid over to Makoto.
"Makoto, my dear...I realize that things went a little haywire today, but...give some thought to, um, joining our family?"
"You don't give up Mom," said Koichi out of embarrassment.
"Right, well..." began Makoto putting her hand to her face. "I'll give some open-minded consideration." She blushed a bit. Pop yelped, as Koichi put a hand behind his head.
"You gotta be kidding, you too, Makoto?" asked Koichi.
Moegi got closer to Koichi. "You did save her, she sees you in a different light now." Koichi started to blush hard.
