Summary: Dan is a single and proud parent of his beautiful 2 year old daughter Lucy. Phil Lester was the pre school teacher at the preschool Dan was happening to take his daughter to. Single parent!Dan Teacher!Phil
Dan: Dan didn't want his daughter to go to pre school. It felt like she was growing up to fast...even though she was only two. But he still was going to miss being able to be with her all day and being able to have snuggle/movie marathons.
Dan was a radio show host so most of his work was done from home and he only had to go to the radio station at the end of the week and even then he was allowed to bring Lucy with him. But he found himself only a few days later with Lucy who was wearing her favourite Pikachu dress in his arms listening to her talk about how excited she was to meet her teacher and all the other kids. Dan found himself a minutes later in front of of Lucy's classroom.
"You be a good girl okay. And if you want Daddy to come pick you up early you just ask you teacher to call me" he said letting her down from his arms and crouched down to her eye level and gave her cheek a kiss.
"Daddy! We discussed this. I will only be gone for a few hours" Lucy says as he kisses Dan's cheek and hugs him tightly "I love you" she smiles.
"I love you too princess" Dan smiles as he stands up and takes her tiny hand into his own as he walks into the class room only to find a extremely attractive man with beautiful blue eyes, smooth pale skin, inky black hair and amazing cheekbones walk towards him and Lucy.
Phil: Phil smiled as his students flowed into the room. He was a new teacher - fairly young for his qualifications but he had always had a soft spot for children because of his younger sister. He was always asked by family to babysit and even his parents' close friends. Phil was a natural with children and now he could channel it into teacher and encouraging the young ones to grow into inspirational human beings.
Phil watched fondly as the kids said their goodbyes to the parents at the door. Soon enough the last kid arrived. She looked sweet and adorable in her Pikachu dress - her parents had taste. He looked up and was surprised to see an attractive young male saying his goodbyes to her. He looked way too young to be a parent and there was no mother, was he her older brother? Phil decided to go say hi and welcome his last student in.
"I love you."
"I love you too princess." The man responded and Phil smiled to himself at the sweetness.
"Hi, I'm Phil Lester - the primary one teacher." Phil introduced himself and held his hand out, trying not to let his eyes rake over the man because he really was quite hot.
Dan: "Hi I am Dan Howell and this is Lucy Howell" Dan smiles and shakes the other man's hand and let his eyes freely rake over the others body. He knew it was bad to be attracted to his daughters teacher, but at that moment he honestly didn't care one bit. If Dan was honest his sex life was currently on the down considering he had a daughter to take care of...of course he loved his daughter but he couldn't help miss being intimate with someone.
Phil: "Nice to meet you." Phil smiled and waved down at Lucy. Lucy grinned back with a bright grin. One dimple popped out on her left cheek and she certainly looked like Dan. They had the same eyes and nose, although her hair was lighter than Dan's with light highlights running through. She was very pretty for her age.
Phil lifted his gaze to her hot guardian. He shouldn't be distracted when he has a class waiting for him so he'll have to talk to Dan another time. "Is this your sister?" Phil asked, wanting to know before the gorgeous man walked away. What if he never saw him again? Phil bit his lip at the thought, he hardly knows him but immediately wants to know more.
Dan: Dan gave Lucy's hand one squeeze and kissed her cheek as she ran off to the other children with a smile on his face, he let out a small laugh and looked over at Phil as he bit his lip softly. "No I am her father" he said with a soft smile, "I had her when I was 21, and I have been raising her since day one" he said with a proud smile. Lucy's mother had taken care of her for the first couple of weeks but once Dan found out she was doing drugs and not taking proper care of his daughter he immediately fought for custody rights and got his princess out of that hell hole.
Phil: Phil blushed. "O-oh I'm sorry. You look younger." Phil apologize, rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment. "She looks like a wonderful young girl. I'll do my best to teach her what I can. Sorry again." Phil waffled, hoping to make up for his mistake. Hopefully he didn't offend him, he'd be sad if Dan decided to stop bringing Lucy to school and the mother do it instead ... not that he had anything against mothers. He just thought Dan seemed like a nice person and was very pleasant to look at too. Phil shook away his thoughts and tried to look more professional in front of a parent.
Dan: Dan giggled and moved his fringe out if his eyes, "Don't worry I am actually quite flattered" he smiled and let his eyes look the teacher up and down once more. "Thank you I am sure you will be a great teacher, of also I have the form with all my information" he said as he pulled the sheet of paper our of his bag, "Lucy's mum is not in the picture so if you can't get a hold of me just call our friend Louise" he smiled and handed the other man the paper.
Phil: "Oh, no mother." Phil thought - confirming the fact that he'd probably see Dan more often. "Of course thank you. If you have any questions about the learning do not hesitate to come and see me." Phil smiled kindly and took the sheet from Dan.
With a final nod, Phil turned and went over to his desk, placing the sheet next ones that had already been handed in. "Right class, how are we today?" Phil grinned, not being able to contain his happiness.
Dan: Dan smiled at Phil and then waved another quick goodbye to his daughter as he headed back out the door and tried his hardest not to go back into the classroom and bring his daughter back home. But he knew that she was in good hands and being the social butterfly she was she would make plenty of friends. After a day of constantly worrying about his daughter and how she was doing, Dan was finally on his way back to the preschool to pick up his princess.
Phil: "Thank you very much Lucy." Phil beamed as the little girl handed him a piece of paper. His grin went even brighter when he saw Lucy's drawing of him and a lion. "This is amazing Lucy - you're quite the little artist. How did you know I loved lions?" Phil asked and Lucy looked like she had just won a gold medal.
"They're my favourite animal too!" She exclaimed and Phil chuckled - patting her shoulder as the other children were packing away their things.
"Did you enjoy yourself today Lucy?" Phil asked curiously.
"It was so much fun Mr Lester." She beamed as she packed her things into her small backpack.
"Well I'm glad. I'll make sure to make it just as fun for you tomorrow." Phil grinned and suddenly Lucy hugged his waist - taking him by surprise. He chuckled however and hugged her back. "Come on now - I think daddy will be here soon." Phil beamed.
Dan: Dan smiled and watched as his daughter hugged Phil with a wide smile on her adorable face. It was nice to know that if anything did happen between him and Phil his princess would be happy about it. "Does daddy get a drawing too?" Dan giggled as he watched his daughter run up to him and hug him tightly, he crouched down to her level and hugged her back.
"Its in my backpack I will give it to you when you get home!" Lucy smiled and continued to hug her father, "Today was so much fun! Mr.Lester is teaching us the alphabet and how to draw animals!" she beamed.
"That sounds amazing princess! Now how about we go out and get some hot chocolate" he smiled at both Lucy and Phil.
"Can Mr.Lester come with us?" she asked looked at her father an then at Phil.
Phil: Phil's eyebrows rose a little. Sure he'd love to talk to Dan and spend time with Lucy - she was a sweet girl, but Phil was a teacher and shouldn't be going out with students parents. The thought only just crossed his mind at how problematic it could be to see Dan out of school. What if parents saw and thought they were getting special treatment? Phil bit his lip anxiously, "I would love to Lucy but I have to do a lot of boring teacher stuff. I'll see you tomorrow though - we can do lots of fun things then." Phil smiled kindly.
Dan: Lucy pouted as her father picked her up and kissed the side of her head, "I can bring you hot coco tomorrow!" she smiled as she snuggled into her father.
"Are you sure you can't come? You are always welcome" Dan says with a soft smile even though he was disappointed the teacher couldn't come. He really wanted to get to know Phil but he also knew that Phil might not want that.
Phil: "I'd love to, but I really can't." Phil replied, giving Dan an apologetic look. "I look forward to seeing you tomorrow again Lucy." Phil and ruffled her hair. After saying goodbye Phil watched them leave with a sigh. He shouldn't be thinking about parents that way besides he'd never have a chance with Dan right? Phil shook his head and went to his desk, looking through his plan for the next day. He didn't even know Dan - he'd get over him easily right?
Phil arrived the next day with a Starbucks cup in his gasp and his bag full of folders over his shoulder. He set things down on the desk before getting coloured paper out of a tray and starting to lay a piece down at each seat for he children.
"Hey stranger!" A voice spoke up. Phil turned round and grinned when he saw Michelle.
"Hey! What are you doing here?" Phil asked in pleasant surprise.
"Well I couldn't make it yesterday so I wanted to see how my younger brother was doing at his new job." She grinned and waltzed into the room. The bell rang and Phil knew his students would be arriving. "I know it's not ideal to talk right now but how about you tell me about it after school?" She asked.
"Definitely." Phil grinned and watched as he saw some of his students walk in, some saying goodbye to parents.
"Alright see you later." She smiled and pulled him into a tight hug and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"See you." Phil grinned.
Dan: Dan watched as a woman gave Phil a tight hug and a kiss on the cheek, maybe he was dating someone after all. The thought of this immediately put Dan's mood down as he said goodbye to his daughter outside the door instead of walking her in. "Okay princess you have a great day! I love you so much and I will see you this afternoon" he smiled and kissed her cheek.
"I love you so much daddy! I will make sure to draw you something today" she smiled as she hugged him back tightly as well as kissed his cheek. After a few more seconds of hugging she walked into the classroom with a smile on her face. Dan smiled and walked away, trying to get Phil and that woman off his mind.
---A few hours later---
"Mr.Lester my tummy hurts. Do you think you could call my daddy?" Lucy asked with tears in her big brown eyes as she looked up at Phil.
Phil: "Oh really?" Phil asked in concern. He saw the tears in the little girl's eyes. "One moment Lucy, I'll just call for someone to supervise the class." Phil smiles and picked up the phone on his desk - calling to reception. "Hey I need a cover teacher for P1. One of the children needs to go to the nurse's." They said they'd send someone right away and soon a small woman knocked on the door. "They're just drawing the letters of the alphabet - if you could supervise that would be great." Phil smiled then beckoned Lucy over. She slipped her small hand into Phil's large one and they both went to the nurse's office. "Have you eaten anything that could have caused stomach ache Lucy?" Phil asked gently as he sat her on a stool - checking her temperature.
Dan: Lucy wiped her tears away and looked over at Phil with a small frown, "My tummy doesn't actually hurt...I just miss my daddy" she said wiping away another small tear that strolled down her cheek. She really had missed her father today but she didn't want the other kids to think she was a baby so she just said her tummy hurt. "I am sorry I lied" she sniffled as he looked down and away from Phil as tears streamed down her cheek, "I just really miss my daddy".
Phil: Phil couldn't help but let out a small breath of relief. He loved all the kids in his class but Lucy was managing to crawl into his heart little by little. He'd never want her to be in pain. He chuckled a little and pulled out a tissue, softly dabbing at Lucy's cheeks. "I understand Lucy. You've been with your daddy all of your life so I know coming to school can take some getting used to." Phil smiled kindly and rubbed Lucy's back. "I'm not supposed to if your not ill but just this once I'll call home to Daddy for you okay?" Phil asked. He was lying a little - he'd probably do it again if she wasn't ill.
Dan: Lucy smiled and wrapped her small arms around Phil's neck and hugged him tightly, "Thank you so much Mr.lester" she said as she hugged her teacher. "You are the best teacher ever" she smiled as her tears started to dry.
Dan had just gotten the call that Lucy was feeling ill so as soon as he hung up the phone with Phil he ran to the preschool. After a few minutes he was finally walking to the nurses room completely out of breath an completely worried about his little girl. "Oh god princess are you okay? How are you feeling?" He asked as he ran into the room and brought his daughter into his arms and held her close. He hadn't even noticed Phil was in the room.
"Daddy I am fine, I just really missed you" Lucy said, snuggling into her father as little tears streamed down her face.
"Aw princess I am here now and we can go home and watch movies and snuggle and I will even order pizza" He smiled and kissed her cheek as he wiped away her tears with his thumb.
"Thank you daddy" she said with a soft smile and kissed his cheek in return.
"I love you so much."
"I love you too Lucy" he smiled bringing her back into his arms.
Phil: Phil watched the scene unfold before him and couldn't help smile at their reciprocated affections. Dan reminded Phil of himself in the sense that he was a huge softy when it came to kids and especially Lucy. He dusted himself off, only starting to feel the awkwardness of his presence settle in at a meaningful moment. "She, um, said she was homesick and I couldn't stand to see her so upset so ... yeah. I-I'll um go, enjoy your evening." Phil stuttered, smiling awkwardly and walking to the door.
Dan: Dan picked up Lucy and held her in his arms as he smiled widely at Phil, "Thank you so much. You have no idea how much this means to me" he smiled an threw Lucy's small bag over his shoulder.
"Daddy? Can Mr.Lester come over and eat pizza and watch a movie with us?" Lucy asked looking at Phil and then back at Dan.
Dan blushed softly and kissed her cheek, "I am sure Mr.Lester has something much more important to do than hang out with us" he chuckles and looks over at Phil, trying his best to forget the woman from that morning. "He probably has someone at home to watch movies and eat pizza with" he says with a soft smile
Phil: Phil flushed. He had been single since his last years in high school. Throughout university he didn't want to start dating because he wanted to focus on his goal to become a teacher. He knew he'd like a partner one day but now that he got what he wanted he felt a little embarrassed at the thought of not being intimate with someone in nearly ten years.
"Um, I still have to look after teach the class Lucy. Thanks for the offer though, that was very kind of you. I actually have plans after school but maybe some other time?" Phil suggested - not knowing him he meant it or not. He was trying to promise a six year old that they'd meet out of school and Phil wonders if that makes him a creep. He hopes not.
Dan: Lucy pouted and looked over at Phil, "That's okay but you are missing out on totoro and pizza" she said with a small shrug as she snuggled back into her father.
"Well if you ever do want to meet up and eat pizza and watch a movie with us...which I am sure Lucy would love to do, you have my number" Dan smiled. He really hoped that maybe one day they could hang out somewhere other than school, that way he would be able to get to know Phil a bit better. "Well anyway thank you for letting her call me! have a good day" he smiled as he walked out of the nurses office and started to head back home.
Phil: Phil's heart thumped at Dan's offer. Dan really wanted to meet up? Phil swallowed. "Goodbye." Phil smiled as Dan and Lucy walked out of the nurse's office. The rest of the day went fairly quickly and soon enough he was packing up, saying goodbye to his students and walking to meet up with Michelle at their specified location.
"Oi!" Someone yelled across the cafe and Phil grinned when he spotted his older sister sitting in a booth cradling her coffee.
"Hey sis." He grinned and slipped in opposite her after a hug.
"So, how was it today and yesterday?" She asked, sipping her latte.
"Great, the kids are brilliant. Little angels." Phil smiled.
"Won't be for long." She teased.
"Yeah well for now I can handle it." He chuckled and looked through the menu to order a drink.
"Any cute teachers?" She asked curiously.
"What? No! Most of them are middle-aged woman anyway and the men are at least in their 90s." Phil cringed and Michelle giggled. "The youngest is the PE teacher and he's still like five years older than me and has let himself go a bit." he wrinkled my nose - showing his disinterest.
"Alright, alright I get it." She grinned. "So no one has peaked your interest."
"Well ..." he trailed off, wondering if he should tell her or not.
"Spill." She smirked.
"There is this guy ... but he's a parent."
"Ooh Phil." She grinned, raising an eyebrow. "Do tell. Is he hot?"
"Very." Phil blushed.
"Is he single?"
"I don't now. Apparently the mum isn't around so he could be." Phil shrugged, scanning the menu once again.
"Is he nice? Have you two talked?" She interrogated - seemingly amused about the gossip.
"He's very sweet." Phil grinned. "He even offered to meet outside of school, I don't know if he means it but he told me I know his number if I need it." He blushed once again.
"Oh god just ask him out already." Michelle chuckled.
"But wouldn't that be weird? A parent and a teacher?" Phil questioned.
"For goodness sake stop worrying! It isn't illegal!" She laughed and Phil grinned back.
"What about his kid?" She asked.
"She's a lovely girl. Very smart and artistic, her name's Lucy. Her dad is called Dan." Phil explained and Michelle smirked.
"I think you should go for it." She encouraged.
"You think?" Phil asked anxiously.
"Definitely, just make sure the guy's single first yeah?" Michelle chuckled and Phil smiled.
Dan: Dan had spent the rest of the day with Lucy snuggled up in his arms as they watched countless amounts of movies and stuffed their faces with sweets and other yummy things. After he had put Lucy to bed that night he worked on some work and couldn't help but check his phone every few minutes to see if Phil had called or even texted. After a few hours he went to bed with a soft sight and felt a bit disappointed.
The next morning he got Lucy ready for school and even put a little extra effort in his outfit, he wore a pair of black skinny jeans and his nice moth shirt. After of skipping down the entire way to the preschool with Lucy he was finally in front of her classroom and walked inside with her. "Have a good day princess" he smiled and gave Lucy a small hug. "I left you a note in your lunch."
"I love you daddy and I promise to be a big girl today" she smiled proudly and kissed her fathers cheek.
Phil: Phil sat at his desk anxiously. He had been thinking of ways to get to see Dan out of school hours without suggesting anything. He needed to know if Dan was available first. Another thing that was bothering him was that the head teacher had made him in charge of the after school club but they were short a few staff so he needed to find some volunteers which meant he might need to send out a letter to parents.
He started writing it as some of his students filed in - saying a 'good morning' as they went. It wasn't long until Phil heard Dan's voice and immediately jumped out of his seat. He swallowed and walked towards him. "Hi ... how are you today Lucy?" Phil asked, losing his nerve last minute.
Dan: Lucy smiled up at Phil and hugged his leg, "I am great! I am going to be a big girl today!" she said with a wide smile before running off to the other children.
"She really likes you" Dan said with a wide smile as he watched his daughter leave, "She drew this and I thought you would like it" he said with a soft smile and handed Phil a piece of paper. The minute they got home yesterday Lucy had draw a picture of him,her and Phil and there was big heart drawn around them.
Phil: Phil beamed at the picture and for a second he thought of them as a family before he caught himself and shook those thoughts away. He needed to get to know Dan first. "It's brilliant." Phil chuckled, placing it on his desk to put on the wall later. "She's a great kid and the others seem to like her a lot so I wouldn't worry about her." Phil grinned and contemplated if he should ask Dan to help with the after school club or send him a letter like he'd do for all the other parents.
Dan: Dan smiled widely and couldn't help his thoughts wander to the the thought of all three of them being a family. Lucy already loved Phil so that wouldn't be a problem, the only real problem was if Phil actually liked Dan back.
"I don't think I can ever stop worrying about her" he said with a small laugh, "Uh Phil I just wanted to say the offer is always open if you want to hang out with us. Or even just me without Lucy" he said biting his lip hoping he had not made Phil feel uncomfortable. "Well I should probably get going...if you ever decide anything you have my number" he said as he started to turn to open the door.
Phil: Phil's heart thumped faster, "Wait!" Phil blurted. "I would love to um, do it today but I'm running the after school club until 5 ... Actually I'll be doing it all week so I don't know if we'll get to hang out." Phil tried then felt stupid for asking. Dan seemed to want to get to know him and he felt like he just messed up his own chances.
Dan: Dan felt himself smile widely and turned back to Phil and ran his fingers through his own hair, "How about you pick me up sat 6pm tonight and we can have dinner" he smiled "Lucy is having a sleepover with my friend Louise's daughter so it will just be us" he said with a soft smile. "And if you are to tired to go out I can always cook you something at my place"
Phil: Phil swallowed. This sounded like a date and he couldn't wipe the smile off his face. "O-okay. That sounds great. You'll text me your address? I mean I have your number so I need to text you first but you already know that..." Phil waffled, feeling nervous but giddy at the same time. He really liked Dan and wanted to get to know him more. There was something that drew him to Dan. "I can't wait." Phil grinned, trying not to embarrass himself further.
Dan: Dan giggled and reached his hand into Phil's pocket and pulled out the others phone, "Just in case you forget" he says as he sends a text to himself . Dan honestly couldn't wait to get to know Phil better and be able to be with him somewhere other than a classroom.
"Believe me I can't wait either" he smiled widely as he hands back Phil's phone and waves to his daughter quickly before heading to the door. "See you tonight gorgeous" he said with a small smile before walking back out the door.
Phil: Phil blushed at Dan's comment - it was definitely a date. The grin wouldn't leave Phil's lips and he was practically glowing. He was very happy through out the whole day and the students noticed, complimenting on how happy Phil seemed. Phil thanked them and even let them watch a film for the last half an hour of the day.
When the final bell rang Phil felt a jolt through his heart and, after saying goodbye to all his students and Lucy he hurried off to after school club, not being able to wait for the following two hours to end. He played games with the kids to pass the time but his mind was on Dan so he often lost. He didn't mind. As soon as the last kid left, Phil grabbed his things and nearly sprinted out to his car.
He only had an hour to pick Dan up and he had to go home and get ready. He wanted to do something special for Dan. As he was through his front door he started stripping and tripping over his feet. He rummaged through his clothes and picked out a pair of black skinny jeans and a dark blue shirt with a cat on the pocket. He ran his hair through the straighteners quickly and then pulled on his favourite dark blue converse to match his shirt. Once he was ready he grabbed his keys phone and wallet and ran to the car again. After flattening down his hair he checked his phone for Dan's address, but first he had to make a quick stop.
Dan: As Dan drove home from dropping off Lucy he couldn't stop smiling as he thought about his date with Phil. To even say he ad a date with Phil made him even happier. Once he got home he quickly took a shower and made sure to use his extra special vanilla scented wash just for Phil. He slipped into a pair of extra tight skinny jeans and kept his moth shirt on considering it was one of his favorite shirts. As the clock neared to six he couldn't help but feel extremely excited for his date.
Phil: After seeing Michelle Phil jumped back into his car with a grin on his face. Michelle had suggested a great place to go and he couldn't wait. In fact as he was driving, Michelle was pulling strings for him to have the perfect night.
"I'll be there in ten minutes ~ P" Phil typed into his phone and sent it to Dan. He felt the nerves settle in as he neared his destination. He was determined to make this night perfect because he really liked Dan and felt like they had a connection even thought they hadn't known each other long. Lucy also made him smile.
Soon enough he turned into Dan's driveway and swallowed anxiously before jumping out of the car and walking up to the front door. He shakily lifted his hand and knocked on Dan's door. Almost five seconds later the door was yanked open and Phil took in Dan's image, eyes lingering on his jeans because they made his ass look great. Dan looked really hot and Phil felt his heart flutter. "Hi." He breathed.
Dan: As soon as Dan had gotten the text he practically waited by the door for Phil to come. Once he heard the knock he ran up and yanked open the door, Phil looked absolutely gorgeous and at the moment all Dan wanted to do was kiss Phil's gorgeous lips. "Hey" he said with a wide smile "So are we going out or should I get started on dinner?" he asked as he leaned against the door frame and crossed his arms.
Phil: Phil grinned. "Come with me." and then he grabbed Dan's hand, pulling him towards his car. They hopped inside and Phil started it up. He felt so excited and nervous and he'd never felt this giddy in years. Dan was amazing and he wanted to give him the best. He looked over at Dan and smiled. He couldn't believe he was lucky enough to be on a date with him. "I hope you like it." Phil bit his lip, concentrating back on the road.
Dan: Dan smiled and quickly shut the door before following Phil into the car with a huge smile on his face. He took Phil's hand back into his own as they started to drive to the mystery location, "As long as I get to be with you I am perfectly happy" he smiled and pressed a small kiss to Phil's hand. As Phil drove Dan couldn't help but stare at how beautiful Phil and was mesmerized by his gorgeous features.
Phil: "Before we get to our destination I need to make a quick stop." Phil smiled and pulled up at a Chinese takeaway. Instead of getting out the car, Phil pulled his phone out and called a number and soon enough someone came out of the restaurant with a large brown bag.
"Enjoy." The man smiled before walking off. Phil put the bag in the back seat before driving on to the main event of the evening. Phil pulled up in an empty parking lot and grinned, squeezing Dan's hand in reassurance before getting out. He grabbed the large brown bag out the back seat before retaking Dan's hand with his other. All the while Phil couldn't stop smiling.
They kept walking together in the dark and Phil felt Dan lean into him a little. Phil grinned and let go of Dan's hand, putting an arm round his shoulder instead. Soon enough they arrived at a black gate and another person was there waiting for them. Phil whispered his name and the guy smiled before unlocking it.
"Thanks." Phil grinned and walked through with Dan. "I hope you don't mind having the private gardens to ourselves." Phil smiled sheepishly as they looked out onto the green grass, trees and flower beds.
Dan: Dan felt his heart flutter at the kiss as he wrapped his arms around Phil and smiled. He really hoped that this would become something more... Lucy loved him and even though this was only their first date Dan was pretty sure he loved him too. He could already imagine what it would be like if they were a family, the morning cuddles in bed and all the adorable drawings Lucy would make. He let out a small gasp as Phil kissed him again and immediately kissed back with the same amount of passion as Phil.
Phil: Dan's lips were warm and soft against Phil's and he lost himself in the moment. His hands slid up Dan's neck and into his hair - playing with the strands. He felt Dan's arms wrap around his waist and pull him closer. He complied and soon enough the ended up laying down on the grass with Phil laying over Dan slightly.
A sudden bang made Phil jump and pull away from Dan. His eyes went wide as he looked around for the source, only see see the sky illuminated with bright lights. "Jesus christ that gave me a bloody heart attack." Phil giggled and pecked Dan's lips. He hadn't planned for the fireworks but they made everything just that little bit better.
Dan: Dan let out a small yelp as he heard the large bang erupt from the sky, he couldn't believe Phil actually got fire works. "Phil did you actually get fireworks!" he giggled and kissed Phil's lips once more before he heard the annoying sound of his phone going off. "That could be something about Lucy" he said with a soft sigh as he pulled his phone out of his pocket and answered it only to be met with the voice of Louise. After a short conversation Dan hung up his phone and looked up Phil, "Lucy threw up and louise needs me to pick her up..." he said with a soft sigh and pecked Phil's lips. "I am sorry if I completely ruined our date but I do need to take care of her."
Phil: "Not at all. I had an amazing time and I understand that Lucy will always come before anyone else." Phil smiled softly and pulled Dan to his feet. He lightly brushed Dan's fringe out of his face and stroked his cheek softly. "You're gorgeous." He breathed then kissed Dan for a third time, making to sure to make it a good one since it's probably the last one of the night. When they pulled away Phil felt like he was on some blissful high and Dan was a drug he never wanted to give up. "Do you want me to drive you there?" Phil offered.
Dan: Dan smiled and nodded softly as he kissed Phil back with as much passion as before. Hearing Phil say that meant the absolute world to Dan, he always had to but his daughter first no matter how much he loved someone. "Yea that would be great" he said with a soft smile and took Phil's hand into his own, "You could even stay the night if you want...I mean we wouldn't have sex but I could make hot chocolate and we could cuddle" he said with nervous smile as he hoped he wasn't being to forward.
Phil: "That sounds really perfect." Phil grinned and pecked Dan's lips before walking back through the gardens hand in hand. Phil opened the passenger door for Dan like a gentlemen - earning an adorable giggle. Phil followed Dan's directions until they pulled up outside Dan's friend's house. The front door swung open as soon as the car pulled into the driveway and Phil managed to make out a small blond person making their way over.
Dan: Dan got out of the car and gave her a soft hug, "Louise just calm down and tell me what happened" he giggled
"Well she just started getting really sick and I am so sorry about your date." she said as she handed Dan Lucy's bag
"It's fine just let me get her so we can get her home and in bed" he said with a small smile as he mouthed a one second to Phil and ran inside he house to grab Lucy. After a few minutes of assuring Louise it was completely okay he was walking back to the car with a very sick Lucy in his arms. He got into the car and moved the seatbelt over him and Lucy who was on his lap snuggled up.
"Daddy why is Mr.Lester here?" Lucy asked with a wide smile as she looked at the other man
"Me and Mr.Lester had dinner tonight and me and him are going to have a sleep over" he says with a small smile and holds Lucy close.
Phil: Phil blushed a little at Dan's comment. He hoped Lucy wouldn't mind him staying over or stealing her daddy for the night. "Hey Lucy, looks like we can have that hot chocolate after all." Phil grinned and started the car - following Dan's directions once again.
Dan: Lucy smiled and reached over and kissed Phil's cheek before snuggling back into her father, "Can I cuddle with you two?" she asked the of them.
"Well I don't think you will be getting any hot chocolate considering your sick" Dan giggled and kissed her cheek, "but yes you can cuddle with us until you fall asleep"
Phil: Phil felt his heart flutter. He was still young and had only really just gone into teaching but the thought of his own little family made him feel giddy with love and pride. If Dan and Lucy accepted him, he'd do his best to make sure they were happy. He pulled up at Dan's house and smiled when he remembered dragging Dan out of it earlier.
He watched as Lucy jogged into the house with excitement although she claimed to be sick. Dan smiled at him and took his hand, pulling him into the house. Phil admired everything around him but eventually his eyes landed on the thing he admired most in the room once again - Dan.
Dan: Dan let out a small laugh as he watched Lucy practically jump out of hi arms and run up to the door, "I have a strange feeling Louise told her you were with me" he giggled as he walked with Phil up to the house. He quickly unlocked the door and let Lucy in but before stepping inside he gave Phil a small peck on the lips and then proceeded to walk in right after his daughter.
"I am going to go it her pyjamas on. Make yourself at home" he smiled as he walked towards Lucy's room. After a few minutes of very hard pyjama design making, Dan finally emerged from Lucy's room with his daughter in her favourite totoro onesie along with her clutching her winnie the pooh plushie. "Do you want to borrow some pi's?" he asked as he walked into the lounge to find Phil.
Phil: Phil grinned as Dan pecked him on the lips then took Lucy to get changed. Phil nearly 'awe'd at Lucy when she came back out in a totoro onesie and clutching her winnie the pooh toy.
"That would be great thanks. Are you sure you want me to stay the night?" Phil asked, biting his lip. He hoped he wasn't invading on their father-daughter time.
Dan: Dan smiled and set Lucy down and instructed her to stay there as he got on his own pi's. "Of course I want you to stay the night silly" he giggles as he walks with Phil into his room and passed him a pair of dark grey sweatpants along with a black shirt. "Is that good?" he asked as he changed into his own pyjamas.
Phil: Phil took the clothes and nodded. "Are you going to stay because I don't mind if you watch." Phil smirked a little, pulling his shirt over his head anyway and wiggling his eyebrows (in more of a jokey manner but the offer was still there). Phil felt like giggling as a blush came on to Dan's cheeks and he wanted to kiss him for being so adorable.
Dan: Dan looked a Phil as he felt his cheeks turn red, "Just hurry up and get dressed" he said with a small giggle as he continued to blush softly. Dan honestly didn't mind getting a quick show from Phil as long as nothing happened afterwards. "I am going to grab some blankets so we can all be nice and warm" he smiled as he grabbed his duvet along with some other blankets and pillows.
Phil: Phil chuckled as Dan grabbed pillows and blankets from the bed. Just as he was about to leave, Phil tugged Dan back into a passionate kiss - taking Dan by surprise. Phil internally giggled as Dan let out a small yelp like sound but soon melted into Phil's embrace. After a minute Phil pulled back with a grin before ushering a flustered Dan out the door. "Better leave now before you get a strip tease." He joked.
Dan: Dan pouted and pecked Phil's lips before walking out the door with his bundle of blankets. "Maybe you can give me a private on sometime soon" he says with a small wink as he heads back to the lounge and with the help of Lucy they both make the large couch as cozy as possible. He smiled and place Lucy on his lap as he wrapped them both up in blankets and waited for Phil to arrive.
Phil: Phil grinned at Dan's comment and shook his head - smiling. He tugged his skinny jeans off and changed into the clothes provided. "So. What are we watching?" Phil smiled as he walked in - glad to see both Dan and Lucy already snuggled together.
Dan: Dan opened his blanket so Phil could snuggle with them, "Well you can choose but it has to be okay for Lucy" he said as he snuggled into Phil who had happily joined the both of them. Lucy smiled and moved over the he middle of Dan and Phil so she could cuddle them both.
"Mr.Lester do you like my daddy?" she asked as she looked up at Phil with her wide brown eyes.
Phil: Phil's eyes widened a little at Lucy's question. In what way? Did she think he wasn't good enough to be with her Dad? Did she want him to be with her Dad? Phil internally panicked about a 6 year old's opinion and swallowed.
"Yes I like your Daddy." He replied, hoping it could be taken in different ways if she didn't like it. Despite falling for Dan he didn't want to come between their relationship because what they had looked really special and Phil would gladly walk away if he wasn't welcomed, even if it was just Lucy.
Dan: Lucy smiles and kisses Phil's cheek before she snuggles back into the both of them, "Good" she said with a soft smile "Because I think my Daddy likes you...Wait does this mean you are also my Daddy?" he asks
"Well it looks like you have the approval of my two year old" Dan giggles and kisses Phil's cheek. "Well that all depends if one Mr.Lester wants to be you papa and two If you want him to be your papa"
Phil: Phil blushed as both the Howell's kissed his cheek and couldn't stop the grin that spread across his face. "I'd love to." Phil said softly and pecked Dan and Lucy's cheek. He wasn't sure about kissing Dan on the lips yet - he was glad he was welcomed with open arms but he didn't know what was acceptable affection-wise. He hadn't been in a relationship for nearly ten years remember.
Dan: "Can I call you papa then Mr.Lester?" Lucy asked as she looked up at Phil with a wide dimpled smile.
"You can say no if you don't want to" Dan said with a soft smile as he pecked Phil's lips and rested his head on Phil's shoulders. He honestly would love it if Phil said yes because then they would start to feel like a real family.
Phil: Phil beamed at the both of them, glad to have his confirmation and his kiss on the lips. "If you want to you can call me anything you like. If you change your mind about Papa just call me Phil out of school." Phil grinned and kissed Lucy's forehead fondly. He was excited to finally start his new family.
Dan: Lucy kissed Phil and his fathers cheek as she smiled widely. "I love you daddy and papa" she said as she snuggled into the both of them. Dan smiled and kissed the top of her head as he kissed Phil's lips. Dan couldn't be happier with his new and amazing family.
